  1. 4 kids here and besides the 2013 DJ we have a 2012 T&C....we'd never function without that mini van....the 2 screen dvd player is a godsend I have 3rd row seating in the Journey and fits my wife and 4 kids comfortably
  2. Where I live you see so many silver and white ones quite a bit...I rarely see red ones..that's why this one was on my radar
  3. Almost 1 month to the day, I finally drove home my 2013 Dodge Journey to replace the one I lost in a wreck..I posted pictures in another thread here in these forums And some of you may have remembered I had issues with the radio/stereo in that DJ...man, there must have been serious issues with that UConnect system...because this one sounds specacular I think it was the lack of any bass..this thing shakes the seats!!!!! I love this Journey!!!!!
  4. Of course she was uninsured....
  5. Drove this car for 90 days and insurance company made it a total loss..but payoff is 3,000.00 less than what I owe
  6. I have never expected the air bags to work like they do. They were on fire/smoldering after deploying. And there were air bags down by my feet that went off. The impact was insane. Knocked the Lifeproof case right off my cell phone. Just amazed at how well the safety features worked. Thankfully I was alone
  7. Yeah, I walked away with a small abrasion on left elbow and a cut on right hand....neck is sore today..gal who hit me was arrested on the spot...she fell asleep and crossed 3 lanes of traffic..she failed field sobriety test..suspected narcotics
  8. Yep, ran into by an impaired young girl yesterday..you can see the impact was so violent the engine actually was pushed back...thank god the Journey did what it was supposed to do!!!!
  9. Still battling this issue...I am thinking part of the issue is the 3.5 tweeters in the dash....they sizzle and are far too harsh for my ears..and they distort with certain sounds Can these be replaced with an aftermarket speaker that will be less harsh??
  10. Checked my firmware and it's up to date Thinking somewhere between cd/aux players and UConnect unit itself has issues
  11. I have tried USB and aux..sound is the same...not good...haven't tried bluetooth I am unsure what the plug below the dash is...I plugged my phone charger into it and it didn't work
  12. The cd player is near the bottom of the dash, just above the shifter..it is a few inches below the radio's interface...inside the console is 2 plug ins..1 usb and 1 aux..so, I have to open the console to access those plug ins
  13. Ok, somehow I must have gotten confused...what exactly am I looking for? Loose wiring? oemparts does not have replacement radio's for the Journey I am stopping on Monday at the dealer I bought the vehicle from and taking the cd's and asking if I could listen to them in a different Journey
  14. My wife has a 2012 Town and Country and these same cd's sound flawless So, I am guessing there is an issue with the internal wiring of the radio that is shot
  15. I grabbed a couple of original cd's..and they sound just as bad, if not worse...when louf passages come on it's like the player compresses itself...the sound gets even more distorted The output of the cd player and aux outputs all sound the same...overly distorted and compressed
  16. Well, I listened to the same songs from my phone (Samsung G4) and the sound was about the same as my burnt cd's Maybe the issue isn't the stereo but the files I am burning
  17. I am going to try and test some of the same music on an IPod and see how it compares to the cd I generally burn my own music for driving...hate the radio I just cannot play music from cd too loud..just too harsh with the lack of bass and the sizzle of the static
  18. Thanks for the replies!! The radio actually sounds decent..there is great bass response and it sounds like a radio should The problem is when I play cd's...the sound is dreadful...I cannot turn the volume up very much at all..there are even songs where I don't even hear the instruments..heck, when I played "Smoke on the Water" the opening guitar is not even audible..and that's criminal
  19. Not sure if this is the normal sound of these radio units but it is absolute garbage Static is heard through everything I listen to and the sound just distorts and the slightest volume increase Is there a software update that addresses this problem..or is the Journey radio just not a good sounding unit?? I have the UConnect 4.3s
