  1. Hmm, after seeing this video, the "plug" as I put it could be the plastic end where the handle broke off. Gonna give drilling it a try tomorrow when I get home from work. I'll be sure to change the oil afterwards to remove any debris that makes it down the tube into the oil pan. I'll report back tomorrow, hopefully with good news.
  2. Tried getting some pics, but can't get them off my iphone. I was hoping the tube just screwed into the oil pan, but without getting it on a lift, it hard to see and it looks like I might have to drop the oil pan to get the tube out. But the dipstick has been broken long enough that debris has now filled the tube and is completely blocking it and it's solid, almost like a plug. I'm hoping to avoid taking this thing to the stealership if at all possible.
  3. So apparently the dipstick broke and is now sitting in the tube (no idea how long it's been like that as I bought it used and "as is" but this was missed). Is the tube able to be removed on it's own if I can't fish the dipstick out? Anyone have any experience with something like this?
  4. Thanks for the welcome all. With everything our kids got this year from my fiancée's parents, I'm glad we got a Journey. The kids got so much, could only fit 1/3 of everything this trip. I don't even want to think how many trips it would take if we still had just my Neon lol.
  5. Hello all, last week my father bought my fiancée and I a 2009 Journey SXT as our Christmas present for the next 5 years lol. I don't mind as we needed a bigger car then my '01 Neon. Has 140K miles as the previous owner used it to commute nearly 200 miles a day to and from work. Overall, we're very impressed so far. Getting just under 22 MPG using 87 octane gas with the 3.5L HO V6. Our kids love the 3rd row seating as now they aren't packed together like sardines and they love the DVD. The backup camera is nice, especially with the headrest from the 3rd row seating sticking up or the DVD monitor down blocking the rearview mirror.
