Should I complain about the factory paint job?

Well today I got it back at 4 pm, from what I can tell the metal flake is a little more that the other paint and the buffed the hell out of clear clear coat and fine dust everywhere. they didn't even wash it. so my guess is they didn't get done from the week before other jobs since it was 4th of july weekend. When the sun comes up in the morning and shine on it I will be able to get a better look. the paint job warranty is good for a year then Chrysler's 100,000 takes over so hopefully good to go. I will post pics tomorrow. Now just need to get it lowered so mom can be happy -

Should I complain about the factory paint job?

WELL, the service manager told me the paint shop owner said it would take 2 days to paint the panel. Chrysler said they would pay for 2 days for a rental, ok great I thought so on July 6 I took it in before 9 am and the dealership gave me a loaner. It is now July 9 at 11 pm so they have had the DJ 4 work days. I've called the paint shop about a half a dozen times in the last 2 days. And NO ONE will ever call me back to let me know how it going or when I can pick up my DJ. So now I'm getting nervous on WTH is going on. I'm thinking they messed it up so bad on trying to match it that they are painting the whole DJ. Any thought for anyone? -

Ok, get to take DJ in on July 6 so I really hope these guys at the body shop can at least make it look better than it does now. -

Well this morning I sent pics to the service manager again and he resubmitted the pics to Chrysler and the approved it to repaint the panel within like 10 minutes. Service manager was shocked that they responded that fast. funny I wait for over a month to hear something and they turned it down, this morning they approved it in 10 minutes. WTH???? Maybe they read this post? I just hope it looks right when they get through with it. well at least it puts a little faith in Chrysler for doing the right thing cause I really like my DJ. I just wish my mom who is 84 now had an easier time getting in and out of it. -

Just an update with Chrysler waiting for a month now and finally heard back from them. And Chrysler said NOPE WE ARE NOT going to fix this problem you have with your DJ under warranty.....since it only does it in certain lighting conditions we (Chrysler) feel it is not a defect in the paint job. "COME ON REALLY" I'm also wondering since the service manager and I are not in good terms and took over a month to get an answer that he's not out to screw me. if that's not the case with him I'm SO I'M DONE WITH CHRYSLER, my family and I as spent over 230,000 dollars in new Chrysler trucks and SUV's over 30 years and this is the kind of treatment a loyal customer gets? So now I'm thinking of 1. trading it off and getting something better under a new brand. 2. just letting it go back and ruin my credit which it isn't much good anyways and start over. 3, keep it and just live with it or 4. put some kind of striping job over it or those fake bullet holes all over it. The sad thing about it, I like the looks of Chrysler cars and trucks over just about any manufacture. -

Help, need to lower my 2015 journey
scorpionman1958 replied to scorpionman1958's topic in Brake, Chassis & Suspension
I checked with H&R springs and THEY DO NOT make spring that will work on a 2015 DJ, They do however make they for 2009-10 DJ. So I called the parts department at my local dodge dealer to check spring part numbers for the 09 and 15. Well the front springs are the same part # but the backs are not, so I would hate to take a chance, get the kit and the rears are just a little different in size and not work. So now does anyone know any other springs besides H&R for the 2015? I could go tire size to 215/55/17 and that would drop it a inch and a half. But wondering if it would look to weird. I agree with on the steps or stool, but have you ever tried to argue with an 84 year old crazy woman. I would rather have a root canal than argue with her. -

On the Jeep Cherokee, the grinding noise in the steering wheel? I'm not sure were exactly but they had to special order the synthetic grease to lube it. It did correct the problem for now but who knows in a few months down the road. -

Thanks everyone for your help and support in this as I have a hard time looking at it. you pay that kind of money for a suv/truck and you don't want it to look like a 5 year old painted it with watercolors. I hope it doesn't have to be cleared by the service manager as he and I don't get along. Don't want to give to much info but I had a 2014 Jeep Cherokee and it had so many problems. I had it in the shop 6 times for the same thing, grinding noise coming through the steering, A new steering assembly, 2 weeks with a rental car and I lost track of the hours waiting in their waiting room and looking at cars on the lot. The last time # 6 the service manager tries to convince me that its normal and all Cherokee's do it even after service manager, the salesman and the guy behind the service counter heard the grinding noise. and get this the dealer charged Chrysler over 2000 bucks trying to fix it....and this bonehead says it's normal??? I was so pissed off I called him a lair as HE HEARD IT, he then said "WE'RE DONE HERE" and called Chrysler and says it's fixed and signs off on it. Chrysler said to take it to another dealer and low and behold this dealer finds the problem first time. By now I was so mad at the jeep I didn't want it any more and Chrysler did help get me out of it with 5% off dealers true cost invoice which wasn't much. But the DJ is 10 times better that a Jeep Cherokee there is NO comparison. I will keep everyone posted. -

here are pic's of the entire side, Im going to the paint shop now so I'll let everyone know. I took a pic of the other side and it matches. I'm just afraid that if they do repaint it, it will really be screwed up. -

Its only on the passenger side rear quarter panel, everything else matches. I will take a picture of it in the morning and post it. it I took a pic of it now at 2:30 afternoon it looks pretty good. It's the most noticeable in the morning sunshine . Thank you for all your input. -
My fellow DJ'ers, I would like your input on this paint jot from the factory. This is brand new 2015 blue streak DJ and I've had it a little over a month now. About a week after I bought it I noticed this HUGE mistake in the paint. I took it back to the dealer on a rainy day (BIG MISTAKE), I could see it cause I knew it's there but no one else could. I took it to the paint shop the dealer recommended so the paint shop has a record of my complaint but they couldn't see it either. They even took a paint scanner and checked and they said there are 2 differences in the colors. throughout the paint The paint shop didn't even have a color code for blue streak. This week will be sunny all week so I am taking it in as the dealer is about a hour away from me and this is the first chance I've had. So I'm asking you, would you bitch and complain or leave it alone and live with it? The paint shop did say it would be a hard paint to match and have to paint over half the car to blend it together, and it might turn out worst than it already is now. THAT doesn't say much for the paint shop. So please leave your input and thanks
