I finally got my radio. My husband calls me obsessed, but that's fine. I got what I wanted without spending thousands more on an upgraded model, and without having to install an external satellite radio. Between the radio and installation it cost me under 150. My husband called a random dealer on the west coast because it was after hours here. Got the code, got my radio! Thanks everyone for all your advice!

So I got my radio and it's at Best Buy. Did I see somewhere where I could get an unlock code? Like someone had "ways"? my dealer is a jerk and Isn't going to cooperate.

I appreciate everybody's help over my frustration. I guess what's the most frustrating is the lack of help from dodge itself. It wasn't my dealer who told me I had to rewire my car, it was dodge customer service. And when I've called the dealers to see if they would install the 4.3s they've flat out told me they won't touch it. I've seen tons of posts where people are talking about bringing their car to the service dept for this and that but mine won't touch the electronics. I'm perfectly willing to spend the money to put the better one in, even forking out the money for the 8.4, but I'm nervous because I'm just a mom who understands jack shit about what I need to buy. If I buy one off eBay the year doesn't matter, right? As long as it's after 2010?

The dealer had no problem trying to sell me useless undercoating and telling me I was stupid for not adding it. I'm pissed at dodge for telling me things like I need to rewire my car. And as far as research my teenage son totaled my car and I needed a new one immediately. I did as much research as I could in a very bad situation. I didn't upgrade because I loved the car and had planned on putting in an aftermarket radio. I had no reason to believe the climate and everything else was so integrated into the factory radio. I merely came looking for help, not judgement.

I'm starting to hate dodge. I hate them for not explaining how crappy the radio was and not trying to up sell me on the next model. I would've upgraded had I known. In an actual conversation with dodge they told me I'd have to rewire my car to put the 4.3s in. I'm so aggravated because I have a radio I found on eBay that expires in a few hours and know nothing about cars. They're making me doubt myself. Please someone tell me they're full of shit.

Ok, last dumb question. The seller has contacted me and said the listing is just for the receiver and not for the screen. Is the screen specific to the receiver? Or would the new receiver give me satellite to the screen I already have? I love my car but this radio is shit. Sorry for all the questions, I'm just a mom trying to get satellite and not have it cost me a grand. Having an external satellite radio isn't an option because I think it looks like junk.

Ok, so I'm bringing this up again because I've found a radio on EBay. It's the 4.3s radio with the touch screen. So all I would have to do is pull mine out and put this one in right? Then I'm all set for satellite? Does it make a difference that mine is a 2015 and the one I found is from a 2014? Would I need anything else?

Right, obviously I need a satellite tuner and antenae. What they're telling me is that getting the 4.3s is impossible. When I responded and tried to clarify what I wanted they won't even answer me anymore. That all I can do is plug and play. Does anyone who's had the 4.3 and taken it out know what's in the back? Is there a port back there for satellite? I would think it would be the exact same radio, just without the satellite accessories.

Someone help! I have a 2015 Journey with the basic 4.3 radio. No satellite, no anything. I hate not having a satellite radio. I asked two dealers and they tell me all I can do is get a plug and play satellite. That it's impossible for them to put in the version with satellite capabilities. Does this seam accurate?
