So according to 2 certified mechanics, I have failing and failed freeze plugs, that resulted in a pool of coolant on my garage floor, and I have to pull the motor and trans apart to replace the freeze plugs. My plan of attack is drop the motor instead of cherry picking it. Anybody out there with this experience or tips and tricks to avoid extra time on the awd system? Should I evacuate the A/C system? Is there a work around for this? Pull it or drop it? Also while I am in there should I replace any other time sensitive parts besides simple belts and such? Thanks for reading!

Yo did you pull the motor from the top or drop it out of the bottom, I am planning to pull my 2010 3.5l sxt awd apart next weekend any tips would be great

my appologies for the late response i pulled it out through the top...the transmission is a total pain in the ass the 2 axles must come out and the tranny hung on a strap and tipped up at a 20degree angle ...the tone ring on the flywheel is 2 inches thick...arrgh.... and the manifolds should be removed before the engine pops out...mine were left on and it had less than 1mm of space...too close.

measure the amount of tranny fluid that comes out so you can re fill it ...there is no dipstick for it and the tranny dipstick at the dealer is $140.00 nope..nope...
