strange issue.. Did a complete brake job on wifes car, front and rear rotors and brake pads all around! now, when I go to start the car after sitting overnight, the brake pedal is fairly hard to push.. so when I go to start the car I notice I have to push it much harder than normal! when car starts and runs the pedal is soft (brakes work fine).. go to Walmart, shop for hourish go to start car and pedal is soft. NOW...leave car overnight again and and go to start it in morning and pedal is stiff and have to push noticeably push hard to start car. not a major issue but definitely noticeable!!

mine took a while to start acting up.. went away though right after I put the glue stuff back in -
some cheap bearings don't last more than 5000 miles.. try turning the wheel side to side, does the sound go away and only heard when goin straight?/ if so bearings

Windshield washer Fluid low detection
wpginterceptor replied to wpginterceptor's topic in Exterior & Body
no what im saying is.. if you use the yellow Teflon stuff. it screws with the low level warning sensor inside the washer jug on the car and shows low washer light on the dash.. even though the jug is full!! Drain the yellow put the blue back in and bam the light goes off! -
REMEMBER.. you cannot use any other washer fluid other than the blue stuff.. if you use the yellow stuff the washer fluid detection sensor cannot detect it and will show low washer fluid warning light on dash!! EVEN WHEN THE JUG IS FULL!!!

5 minutes smoking if its really bad.. otherwise first 5 seconds is valve seals also! ask a mech if you don't believe me. you might get lucky and it will be the PCV.. I doubt it though. Pull the pcv and shake it.. does it rattle.. YES then its working!
-
here is a video and he explains it at the 3 min mark

Valve seals! then change the plugs... google it otherwise when you shut the car off, the oil seeps thru the valve seals and goes in combustion chamber and will burn off when you start it again.. Wont hurt nothing other than youll have to add oil occasionally and also will have to change the spark plugs more frequently!!.. til you fix it! PS: run thicker oil,,,

doesn't say they tested that on highway or city.. Ive tested on highway and absolutely better mileage! city with stop and go.. can see a decrease, but like I said highway taller tires
-
!yes the speedo calibration will be out but you will get better fuel economy! if speed limit is 60 MPH.. then when you put taller tires on, run 57 MPH which will be 60
-
to me sounds like a bad shock..
-
if you do a lot of highway then use taller tires.. IE: if your stock is 16 then run 17-18's! that will help highway mileage
-
start with tires and work your way to suspension.. try and figure if its front or back!
-
tires.. need more info.. Shakes more when driving etc

pump was an ez change on the 2.4! also ran new fluid thru
-
think pump is bad.. can smell it burning! and shes whining a little
-
actually no I didn't watach it on youtube.. I just decided I would try cleaning em first before spending the $$ on new ones! I used glass cleaner and then wiped em off.. what did the video use to clean em? again I did this like 3 years ago now and still no issues with ABS or Traction lights.. Today my power steering pump is noisey and ill replace it tomorrow
-
ABS light and traction light on is usual a bad abs sensor! mine said one on the rear was bad! I jacked the car up took each one out (did all 4).. cleaned each sensor with glass cleaner and reinserted each one back into position... dropped back on whee;s.. and light went off before I even got all the way down the driveway! happened 2 years ago been off ever since!!!

replace the upper control arms and lower toe end links before doin an alignment!
-
apparently the power steering fluid doesn't hold up well to Manitoba winters.. I hear replacing power steering lines are a common issue here.. fortunitly my 11 ive only had to do it once!
-
yup same car same problem and was told its common.. toe link, also called the lower forward lateral link! replace em both!!
