  1. What happened to the engine? Are we talking a Jiffy Lube type of recommendation, or a full on machine shop to rebuild the engine? Southern CA has a ton of mechanic shops, and depending on which part of SoCal you're in, there may be different suggestions. Depending on what type of work needed, a dealership for a newer car may be the recommendation.
  2. This just seems like a statement of a recent event...unless I am missing the question somewhere in there(???).
  3. Congrats and welcome. Great family car and very dependable (mine at least...don't want to speak for others). Group has been a great help for me so far with more than a few items...thankfully none of them being issues with the car. Enjoy.
  4. I would personally start with the belt. It's definitely the cheapest part of this repair and you don't necessarily have to hear any squealing for them to be bad. Then go from there. Rack or pump, neither is an easy fix. Keep us updated.
  5. Call the dealer and ask for a price and part number. You can then compare the price...but you will have the part number.
  6. Ah, got you. Then definitely check the relay, might be going bad, or you have a frayed wire somewhere (or bad connection)...either one may cause loss of power to the motor.
  7. Why did you have the heads replaced? Were they warped from a previous over heading issue? Did the water pump give out?
  8. I would check the wiper relay or the switch itself. Do you have any issues with your turn signals or high beam? Not sure what you mean by the PARK position not working? You can't get the car in Park, or the light is out?
  9. Sounds like you are doing the typical tests for the problem. Unfortunately anything else would almost be a guess without getting a load test and see if anything is killing your battery. Definitely sounds like an electrical issue, but one person's bluetooth issue doesn't mean it's your issue. Since this could be anything from a bad battery ground to a short in the system, I would hate to try and guess. I would suggest performing a load test while removing fuses and then maybe a more extensive one. Good luck...
  10. Welcome to the forum. Why not have the dealer add the camera since you just bought the car?
  11. Is that really it? I had no idea it had that safety feature.
  12. Great update and very well appreciated. Glad Dodge stood up and fixed your issue. Another positive when it comes to domestic. Anyway, I'm still thankful of my decision to buy my DJ. Hoping it gets handed down to my daughter who is getting her license soon and I get the new model.
  13. Best guess would be some oil type spoil on the belt or belt surface. Or just a loose belt that's slipping.
  14. All great suggestions, or guesses really, but let's be honest there just isn't enough information to really be helpful. As mentioned, which side is it coming from? Have you crawled under there to try and see where it's coming from (you really don't even need to jack it up)? Does it have a color? All your going to get are guesses at best. There are normal fluids disbursed from cars, and there are abnormal fluids. If you really want help, you need to narrow it down in order for people to give you good advise.
  15. Here's a posting that's probably worth deleting. I'll never get those 30 seconds of my life back...dang it!!!
  16. Welcome. It's the Freemont just re-labeled, or does it have many differences?
  17. Remember the good ole days? This is up to date, and as long as you have a co-pilot that can read road signs, you're all good.
  18. Try the link below. Just change to your specific year and model. https://www.quirkparts.com/auto-parts/2015/dodge/journey/sxt-trim/3-6l-v6-flex-engine/body-cat/interior-trim-roof-scat/?part_number=1rl62hdaaa
  19. Rough couple of days at work, and out of the blue two of my kids stop by just because. I got to hang out with them in my office, they brought me a tasty snack, and I got a smile on my face. Appreciate the little things... Nice topic jkeaton.
  20. It's happened to me. Usually fixes itself the next day. Not sure why it happens, but it hasn't been a big enough deal to concern me.
  21. Not knowing the exact particulars of your car, have you considered changing the oil you use in your car before adding a cooler? Technically a temp of 240 degrees is still within the acceptable level. Changing, or using full synthetic may help reduce that. A thicker grade oil may also help in hotter weather (depending on which viscosity you are using). Just thinking there may be easier options for you.
  22. So my 2015 DJ SXT just hit the 50K mile mark while on our summer road trip. We headed out for our summer road trip of just over 2K miles and I'm as happy as the day I bought her. With gas prices going up so much in my area ($3.95/gal), I did some basic maintenance to make sure we were ready and got great gas mileage (see pic attached). Best mileage I've ever gotten!!! I personally did an oil change and replaced the air filter. I had the plugs and brakes checked and was surprised to be told they looked great. Brakes are still at 60% of their life and plugs tested great. We drove through temps from 49 to 103 degrees with no problems at all. Handling was amazing and I averaged speeds of about 79mph. No problem handling the climb over the mountains and the curves that came with them. While at our destination we did a couple of trips with family and my DJ was the one everyone wanted to ride in (the other choice was the new VW Tiguan). The kids had plenty of room in my 3rd row, while they hated the 3rd row of the Tiguan. I also pulled a couple of jet skis, while VW told my in laws they wouldn't install a hitch on their Tiguan (but U-haul might install it for them...WHAT???). Anyway, maybe I've been lucky, or maybe the basic maintenance I do on my car has kept it driving so well, but it did great. In comparison to the two other cars we were around, it far out shined the Tiguan, and was very comparable to the Explorer my nephew has, but totally beat the Explorer in price (he paid over $50k for his). I know there are posts about issues people are having, but I wanted to make sure I post something positive about my DJ.
  23. Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately no diesel experience here. Hopefully there's a local member with a similar engine/experience. Good luck.
