  1. forgot to say after remove air box and filter have to remove next piece of intake which is held by a hose clamp
  2. As shown in picture one the yellow box highlighted is part to be removed. Step 1 remove engine cover, air fliter cover, air filter and air filter box then have to remove next piece of intake which is held by a hose clamp once removed should look like picture 2 As shown in picture 3 with the yellow circle the green cap is the vent tube. Remove cap I found easiest to remove vent tube from metal bracket used a flat screwdriver. Found easier that way then remove cap from tube, again had to use a flat screwdriver to losen hose from cap. Also you may notice that 2 rubber hoses were disconnected I thought I had to remove more but was not needed. As shown in pic 4 is the syringe style transfer pump. Has a max capacity of 200mL ( in Canada) I then added 4 full tube with a total of 800ml of fluid but in the process I would pump about 50 mil then remove syringe to burp air so pressure dont build. Do this until all 800 ml is added and re install parts. Found best to put car on ramps first and made sure I could remove vent cap before draining. My fluid was really dirty im sure it was original with 185km on the car.
  3. ok thanks i will take that part off and look again will let you know if I find and do the job.. I'll try and take a pic if I can with it off
  4. I was under my Journey today looking for the vent tube and cant find it ... I looked from above.. as asked before can you possible take a pic of the engine bay and roughly show where this tube is as I know mine needs a fluid change bad.
  5. well after taking apart the back hatch rear inside corner panel figured it out the ground where ever it is, is bad. found the wire at the connecter back probed the wire it was the right one but it was a bad ground just cut the wire made a new one and bam defroster working. all back together and all seems well now I just need to try it in the morning and make sure its all good. Thanks for the quick responses. I just wish our Journey's had a hanes manual
  6. Ok yes I checked multiple locations on the actual grid all showing 12 volts but no heating up.. Im stumped as well... It should be working but its not and Ive tried all things I can think of other than Im getting 12volts but the grid isnt heating up... so maybe I need an entire whole new grid as it seems to have no resistance anywhere thus not creating heat
  7. OK first off I have repaired rear defrosters in the past and I cant find an explination on anything here or anywhere for my issue and heres what Ive found First off only had my 2011 Journey RT AWD for about 8 months and I live in the very cold part of Canada in the winter. So i never had time to figure this out. I hit the rear defroster switch light comes on .. stays on for about 5-10 min then turns off as it should bit wont defog the rear window. Pulled the panel off no voltage at the contact... hit the switch now I have 12volts... then check the other side also with 12 volts... hit the switch goes back to 0 volts. Across the entire grid 12 volts from left to right no change 12 volts across but comfirming with a thermal temp gun temp never changed on the grid or anywhere the rear defroster is on the window stays a constant temp. So I confirmed switch works as it should and voltage across the back window from left to right.. with a test light and multi meter... even used the multi meter from side to side of one of the lines it produces 1 ohm of resistance which I figure is too low. My wife has a 2012 caravan basically same car and parts... and her defroster works.. it has increased resistance but at 6 volts so why would I have 12 volts across and no heat generated. Does the journey have a relay somewhere for this.. I cant hear a click anywhere when i turn the switch on. Please help as winter is comming and any help is appreciated
  8. just found out today I have a brake light out. so what Ive found. Turn on headlights all lights come on as norm. Turn signals left and right work fine Push in brake pedal only overhead light and passenger go brighter Pulled the light assembly checked with a test light only form of power for that light is when the headlights are on. Can this be a fuse issue maybe seperate to left or right a bad ground? but yet the light lights up when headlights are on some form of a short? kinda frustrated any help appriciated
  9. My wife has a 2012 Grand Caravan I guess I can use most of that... some stuff is different but at least for torque specs
  10. I just bought a 2011 Journey RT and was looking for a repair manual as I like to have one for every vehicle. I understand that with the 3.6 its the same engine as my wife's 2012 Caravan with 3.6 but I do see differences so is there a Hanes Manual or Chilton for the Journey as I cant find anything. All I could find was a online service that you pay yearly???? Thanks
