I tried starting it with the 2nd key. Didnt work. Tried in neutral also didnt work. No aftermarket alarm.

Looks like I posted in the wrong place. Idk how to fix that either. Sorry

Hi, I'm new I'm working on my father in laws car. 2010 dodge journey v6.turn the key and it doesnt crank. If I put power to the new starter with the key in the run position the engine cranks but doesnt turn on. If I spray starter fluid in the air intake and put power directly to the starter it cranks and turns on and stays running. Anyone can help me fixing this issue? Maybe just bad ignition switch? Any input will help. I dont know how to test the ignition switch. Any help or diagrams are much appreciated
