  1. That looks like a nice unit for cost compared to trying to lay hands {and cash} on a stock unit with NAV.. I'm no audiophile and hate running wiring though {but given enough time by the Mrs. could do!
  2. For all that I've ben around, I could write a book on the "fails" I've seen over the years. BUT the best. ./worst one was the Pontiac transport/Lumina APV back around 1990. To replace SPARK PLUGS REMOVE Engine/trans/front sub frame as a UNIT. I left the profession shortly after encountering one of them when I worked for a year at a local GM dealer. Moan as much as you want working on your Journey folks, I've seen and been thru a LOT WORSE.
  3. WELL.... It is what it is for some maint./repairs on our Journeys. You should see some of the numbskull engineering disasters for COMMON items that other makes have given their owners
  4. Since it is not your ride. Find out and post the engine size and WHAT maint. has been done in the last year or so. This will help in avoiding redundant suggestions that may not apply. Miles on the car would also be very helpful, after all it is 5 years old now and there are normal maint. items that need to be addressed first.
  5. How old is the battery and how long since the battery posts and cable clamps have been cleaned? This is a very common problem with older batteries and lack of preventative maint. Once cleaned use a skim coat of Di-electric grease on the posts and cable clamp.YES the battery is in a wicked hard area to get to!
  6. WOW ! 3 years? Normal struts and shocks don't last much longer on any vehicles up my way. And yours is just a minor rub problem that WHO CAN KNOW from under WHAT conditions they rub. Raising/lowering and driving/cornering all come into play on when they might have been rubbing. One thing I'm finding out with all 3 of mine is that all 3 camber/toe and control arm bushings are definite wear/weak links in maintaining "tight"suspension geometry to keep all "lined up". From watching shows of doing car mods with "bagging" a suspension, it is very important for a very liberal clearance room all the way around, and usually VERY HARD to determine when inflated and weight put to the car on the ground. As I said before, you have done some pretty special upgrading to do this and 3 years use is a nice return. NOW a bit more "engineering" and make the system last longer.
  7. And those rear bags have lasted how long? You have done something that FEW have done with a Journey, and I know there is not much room to visually see for clearances of the rear strut perches. You did very well on the initial air system install! Now it's time to "fine tune" fitment to take care of the slight rubbing and make your planned "upgrades" you posted of. Don't get discouraged and keep on going. Looking forward to more updates!
  8. With my luck the FIRST TIME I'd use the horn...... I would be caught and ticketed.
  9. This is TOO COOL! You have done amazing things already with your ride, looking forward to how this next "upgrade" goes! Me, well I am stuck just maintaining and keeping them running correctly.
  10. I just got to watch your video with the volume turned on. WELL, you definitely played the right song for my tastes! I've never seen roof panels vibrate so much!...you may end up relaying the sealing caulking in it if you go "whole guns" too long....LOL I take it that while driving that the volume is turned down much lower??? My wife will not let me have volume turned up higher than 10 on the stock radios in our cars. I can barely hear the songs, or is it that I'm constantly more attuned to listening for vehicle noises?? She loves her '13 RT AWD with 19" rims. They do ride and corner so much tighter than the 17's on our other 2 Journey's.....just not looking forward to new tires for it when the time comes. She also misses the sunroof that she had in her old ride....08 Pontiac G6gt. I told her that like another old rock song....YOU CAN"T ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU WANT
  11. Well maybe not down where you're at. BUT we've already used it a number of times on 2 of the 3 I have due to the COLD morning temps we're getting lately! Nice to hear from you, been a while!
  12. You have been a member here for about 1.5 years, I assume you got this Journey used? have you used the phone function before or are just now trying to get it to work? Kind of hard to know how to give help with no background information as to what is happening. Kind of like going to seek medical help but not say just what had been happening and symptoms that have you seeking help....that way does not lend well to good and speedy relief.
  13. You really need to check out for youtube videos to help you. You may need to go thru the "more" icon and get to settings pages for functions. I did not have any problem having the controls respond to "pair" in the wife's phone and it has worked a few times. But seeing your posted video, I almost wonder if the bluetooth module is installed and functioning due to the lack of response the infotainment is doing.
  14. There are a number of "how to" videos on YOU TUBE on how to pair a phone to the car for operation. Just a reminder that todays phones do not seem to connect well with the older operating system of our older Journeys. ALSO is this vehicle still have the FACTORY radio or an aftermarket unit?
  15. In my understanding of the route YOU seem to want to take, that you are going off in a wrong direction. You need to test power voltages at the 2 wire connector on the alternator and trace back to the PCM {engine computer} This charging system is the same thru many years, whether they do or do not have the battery saver terminal on the battery. In rereading your posts, it seems that poor diagnosis's have been done and the old "parts cannon" ways have been used to no avail. One can not reverse the costs of past "blunders", so it is time to do things the right way. GOOD LUCK to you and keep us informed how things go.
  16. Voltage regulation is done inside the PCM. NOT common for it to go bad, BUT wiring to it or plug connector can go bad and give this code. Not sure how good your English abilities are, but YOU TUBE has a number of good videos on tackling this P0622 code.
  17. Did you "pair" your phone to the system through the infotainment screen first? NEWER phones have a problem being recognized by the older systems in your year and my '13 journey. SOMETIMES mine will recognize and connect, but most times it won't.
  18. Did you check the reservoir tank for cracks or replace the radiator cap on the res. tank? IF that does not fix things, then you may be into deeper engine troubles. Does this Journey have rear heat? Air entrapment in the cooling system is a big quirk on these motors when opening up the system. DO NOT "fill and go", run the engine with cap off{keeping an eye on digital temp}, shut down and let cool off, top up coolant if needed and then repeat BEFORE driving with cap installed. This has worked for me with my 3 Journey's. Good luck, and please report back how things go. AND welcome to the forum!
  19. I'll save making an extra response to you.... Welcome to the forum group! Seems strange to post that a '19 model year is getting "older" for a feature like back up camera system has failed, BUT the camera itself is almost 5 years old and been a known "weak link" in the system functioning. Many posts of failed camera's have shown up here. Rather than explain it all out here, try looking on the forum's search function for back up camera not working. Good luck to you, none of my 3 DJ's have the camera system.
  20. Passenger side REAR corner. you can look from underneath and see the A/C lines and heater hoses at the very rear pass. side corner
  21. Not to "dis" on you, but it sounds more like a not properly adjusted brake light switch and they did have an issue with this a few years ago. Of the 3 Journeys I have, none have exhibited such a light problem. HOWEVER on a different "venue", there could be broken wires in the rubber boot between the rear hatch and body causing a short that may keep the brake lights activated. More commonly though those with broken wires just have those corresponding lights not function....always the possibility of wires shorting together all the same. More common of ABS/trac control being a malfunctioning wheel speed sensor. You do have a bit of an "oddball" problem , good luck and let us know how you make out with it.
  22. Member 2late4u was saying the rubber boot sleeve between the forward edge of the door to body of the car. it has wires that run from the powered door controls{ windows, mirror , keyless entry, interior lighting when door opened} MAY have a broken wire inside of that rubber sleeve/boot preventing the lights from turning on. You could also double check the lighting settings on the settings screen of the radio/infotainment screen on the center of the dashboard{not the instrument cluster}.
  23. Many things can cause this code. A quick search on GOOGLE will show you the possibilities. The 3.5 motor, as with each of the other motors offered in the Journeys have their own "special quirks". BUT I would start off looking for intake manifold to cylinder head leaks or cracks in the exhaust system between the cylinder heads and lower O2 sensors,,,, Could even be a dying cat converter. Good luck and report back on how things go.
