Nice write up and pics! IF our AWD Journey was more "robust" in the drive train department, our Journey would be MY ride and not my son's. For a couple weeks each summer, I load a trailer filled with 3 face cords of winter firewood each trip of 20 miles LOADED for 5 runs for my home's winter augmented warmth. I seriously doubt any hitch or Journey model could take that kind of "towing". My 04 T&C with factory tow package (Nivomat rear self leveling shocks) handles the task very well with just some increased braking distances and sane driving speeds up 2 big hills to traverse when loaded. The journey can come close as an all around use vehicle, but not quite as good as my mopar minivans or going to full sized SUV or pick up truck. Here in the "States", I thought that only powertrain offering was the 4 cyl FWD OR the 3.6 with AWD, did I miss something???????

Well we've only had the car on the road for a week, and 600 road miles but I must say I'M IMPRESSED with it ! I come from a long background (25 yrs.) of driving Dodge/Chrys. minivans, along with other vehicles. ALL of which I maintain on my own from a LONG background in automotive repair. YES there are some things I no longer have the equipment to be able to do certain tasks, but have good knowledge of how to do, so here goes with my comments..... This Journey was found and purchased mainly due to price and that it has NO RUST, YES it's got high mileage at 189k miles. Paint is in typical MOPAR fashion of small paint chipping on the hood and some clear coat "whitening" on the front of the roof above the windshield ...We can "live" with that. I'm "all in" cost wise for $4k, with new brakes/rotors ALL fluids and filters done, new plugs and coils and the "biggie" that it needed the trans solenoid pack replaced( a common issue with the 6 speed). We live out in the country, so most roads are NOT "highway" smooth. Ride quality in this car is phenomenal! Absolutely QUIET ride with NO clunks/rattles. Interior...well not trashed by age, still looks very nice with some seat trim plastic cracks. Capacity for adult passengers, I would say maxes out to 4 people as the 3rd row is practically useless for adults to get to. But lots of room with seat down for shopping purchases or "outing" cargo. NOT as much interior room as my many minivans, but a totally different "class" of vehicle. Drivetrain...Well we've got some learning to do on habits of AWD, as we've never had one before. This may be the concern of "shifting" feel when making turns at intersections. Now comes the "disclaimer"... Got this car as a replacement for my collage age son's NEON that he has been driving for 5 years. He's a drummer with a very large "kit" that he hauls around frequently. The Neon could fit most of needed pieces, but could not take even a RF passenger. This car will easily fit his needs AND help him with a good looking "all around" vehicle for when he takes his "independence" from home after finishing college. Of course he is "all in" in liking this Journey, as it's his Fav color and audio system suits him without needing any "upgrading"..and it beats being seen driving a mini van! I'm sure this Journey will be a "keeper" in the family "stable" for a long time!

OOPS, I did my own much asked for complaint to posters of other forums I use....The Journey has 189K miles on it. Also it is a nice deep Red in color with the "Mainstreet" trim level, Easy access front doors, power drivers seat, push start ignition, smaller screen audio. When I get some "words" on my concerns, I'll post what is happening on a proper page thread. BUT let's say normal "servicing" IS up to date as suggested. Appreciate the response from you 2late4u !

Howdy, and thanks for the welcome! To be "on point" to my main concern is the harsh shift points and "shuddering" shifting when coming to a stop. This was also a main concern with the first 3.6/six sp trans in the Dodge Avengers, there was a TSB for computer updates to "fix" it. Found here the mentioned TSB for Journeys. I've only had this vehicle for a week, and is well liked by all the family. Found that it has an open recall for steering column problem(possible) that I'm going to call our nearest dealer about and see if they can run my vin for any TSB's that may be needed for it or if they were done. When I get that accomplished, I'll report in on the appropriate forum page.

Howdy all, Nice to find a forum for this "new to me, but used 2011 journey AWD! Looking for tips and tricks to keep this high mileage beauty running like a top. I'm from Western NY and car came from Maryland...NO RUST ANYWHERE! Only 2 issues I've found is TPMS quirk and trans quirk that I think may involve the TSB 18-008-13. Looking forward to reading thru the forum pages and chatting with members here. I participate on a number of forums that cover the different vehicles in my "stable". But this Journey is the newest year ride I've ever had, so the electronics/computerization is going to be my weak point. See you all around the pages!
