TIPM replaced April 2024, transmission replaced August 2024. -
2012 Dodge Journey RT Went to start, key not detected message. After a couple unsuccessful tries, vehicle started and worked fine all day, with the exception of the check engine light. Got home and hooked up OBD and the photos are the list of codes. Can anyone help to direct me where we should be concentrating our investigation. Hubby is an "in training" backyard mechanic. All help appreciated!

Question- after much reading we have determined our BCM is faulty. Problem is I am having issues finding definitive information about the location of it in a 2012. Do you happen to know? Thanks.

I have a 2012 Dodge Journey RT 3.6L. Transmission replaced 6 weeks ago, TIPM replaced in April, Alternator and harmonic balancer replaced in early 2023. Repaired some broken wires in the hatch wiring harness where it opens up. Prior to TIPM replacement, kept having issues with NO BUS, wipers going and dash warning lights on every 2 - 3 days. After TIPM replacement, had issue only once, replace battery, then appeared ok. Spent 2 months at the shop for the transmission replacement. Got it back, seemed ok. Repaired the broken wires, seemed to take care of what we thought was a parasitic draw. Yesterday, drove it as normal without issues till I stopped at my mom's after work. Went out, wouldn't start. Used my NOCO, jumped it. Started but wipers and NO BUS again. Got home, threw it on the charger. This morning, nothing. I am losing my mind! Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated. Winter will be here soon, and I can't keep working from home because I can't get there.

Hi there. I know this post is 2 years old, but I was wondering if you ever determined the issue? I currently have a 2012 Dodge Journey RT. About 2 months ago, I had the first, shall I say "event". While driving one night, the wipers came on by themselves, the dash lights went out, my dash warning lights came on, and I had a NO BUS message where my odometer reading would typically be. Went home, put the battery charger on it, (charge after each event, and battery is typically down to about 50% at the time). Took it to a local garage, paid for a diagnostic, which said TIPM was the issue. We have replaced the TIPM and it is doing it again. We are at a loss, and cannot afford to keep taking it for "diagnostics", only to find out that the answer did not fix the issue. Thank you!

I live in Canada, and this is my first winter with my new to me, 2012 Journey RT. The battery currently in the journey has a 550CCA rating. We would like to put in as large a battery as possible, because I am currently having to jump start it with the colder temperatures (hooked current battery to tester and has just over 300CCA available). Has anyone installed a battery larger (hoping to get at least 800CCA) in their Journey? Can installing a larger sized battery affect anything? I love my Journey, and just want to ensure that I am able to start it all winter. I have a 2012 Dodge Journey RT 3.6 VVT Thanks for any help! Greatly appreciated!

Remote start disabled
mamallama replied to mamallama's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Key Fobs, Locks & Remote Start
I have no check engine light on. The fuel is always kept at a minimum half tank. I did notice that when I exited the vehicle the other day that my 4 ways blinked when I opened my drivers door. Is this normal? Could this be a clue as to why the remote start seems to be disabled? I appreciate all the help from you guys! -

Looking for some assistance. A few months ago I purchased a used 2012 Dodge Journey RT with factory remote start. I have used it occasionally since, but was really looking forward to it when our colder weather hit (I am in Canada). Now that it is cooler in the mornings I have been attempting to use the remote start, but the vehicle will not start. When I go out it says Remote Start disabled, use pedal to start car. Do it and car starts fine. Now for the rest of the day, remote start works. First start of the morning, always disabled. This defeats the purpose of me having remote start. It was so my vehicle could be warming while I finish getting ready for work. I have my original fob and a brand new fob, but it does not matter which one I use. Can anyone help this poor girl who just wants to get into a warm car? Thanks!
