2010 Windshield loose/noise
Elmwoodie posted a topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
Anyone noticed an improperly sealed front windshield? I have a 2010 r/t. On COLD (Canadian COLD) winter days on highway drives of several hours the front windshield seems to make noises when hitting highway bumps. A rattle almost. Seems to be mainly from high passenger center of windshield. Like maybe the heat differential from 2 hours of DEFROST on the inside and terrific cold on the outside has broken the seal. Never hear it when driving in town. -
2010 Journey r/t dumped its steering fluid today. It is extremely cold (-27 Celsius, -40 with windchill). A friend's 2010 (sxt i think) dumped theirs around Christmas. Anyone else seeing this? I have not seen any TSBs/recalls about this issue. Is it related to the "power steering fluid reservoir replacement" issue that others have mentioned? (none of these people have lost all/most of their fluid. Elmwoodie.

Requirements: RBZ Radio in 2010 Journey. (it says RBZ in the lower right corner in tiny white print). Not sure if it works in 2011+ vehicles. I think they switched manufacturers maybe. CD burner blank CD What version do i have? Go to System Setup --> System Info on the radio and you will see something similar to: Application: 06.06.01 or something like: 08.03.02 Audio CPU: 09110931 Grace Note: 4BB Serial: System: 0101 If its less than 8.05 you can upgrade. Either with Dodge upgrade CD (part # 68092693AA) as explained in Dodge service bulletin 08-028-10. Or by downloading the CD from the link within: http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?5388802-RBZ-Radio-Software-Enhancements Why would I upgrade: list of issues is in the Dodge service bulletin. How do i upgrade? Follow the instructions in this forum message: http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?5388802-RBZ-Radio-Software-Enhancements Took about 15 minutes for me. Elmwoodie.

Downloaded and successfully installed the update. No big changes. Having trouble finding little changes too. But the version number changed. And hopefully more bluetooth applications will work. https://www.dodge.com/hostb/crossbrand/owners/en/pdf/download/Apple_Devices_Compatibility_Test_Report_Rev_B.pdf

I got the same letter. I am gonna ask them to upgrade my RBZ radio firmware at the same time. Service bulletin: 08-028-10 link to service bulletin The radio TSB uses an upgrade CD (part # 68092693AA) to upgrade to version 8.05 (or higher). Some dealers had the CD in stock a couple weeks ago when i called and some did not. I am hoping it will allow my phone to read messages over bluetooth and enhance the media organization capabilities. My 2010 Journey does laps around the subaru in the snow. In reverse. Uphill even.

I would think the phone has to be trying to read the message to you first. This is a feature in the drivesafe.ly app on the blackberry. I can get it to read messages to my bluetooth headset, but not to the uconnect on my 2010 Journey. Sounds like it would work on yours. And it looks like they have versions for lots of smartphones. http://www.drivesafe.ly/ -
Did you see this thread?

One mod that me (189 cm) and my short wife would love is an upgrade to our power seats that automagically moves them to one of two seating positions. Maybe as we approach based on our cell phone's bluetooth or something. I have to stand outside the car and move the seat before I can even get in the car as she jams it up against the wheel for herself. Not much fun in the dead of winter.

I havent had my 2010 RT AWD too long, but I had a big grin on my face going down a mud trail last weekend. I am not sure many 2WD vehicles would have made it. It was a little slippery in Reverse up a slight hill, but stopped and started with ease. I would have no hesitation going on the beach. Some monster dunes would be a little more interesting but I would give 3 to 1 that deep (not too steep) hilly sand is probably OK too. Let us know how it goes!

Freaked me out the first time it happened in my 06 Equinox. When it happened in my 2010 RT after lowering the rear seat window, I just lowered the OTHER rear seat window to compensate. If that does not work, look up and out the sunroof. Maybe there really is a helicopter following you. Never had the problem in 4 different Taurus Wagons though. just the square front cars. Maybe there is something to the front cowling issue. Elmwoodie.

AWD RT w/ 19" wheels and no noise or rubbing going on with our Journey. But compared to our 2006 Equinox, it sure dont turn tight. I hate passing by all those good parking spots that I dont have the maneuvaribility (and smaller size) to enter. Elmwoodie.

Hi Bill, MOFV site does not appear to be for us RBZ Radio people (mine does say RBZ in the lower right hand corner of the radio). Mine is non-NAV, rear camera and Sirius. I think its because our electronics are made by Mitsubushi, and all the "older" models are MyGIG. My application: 08.03.02 My Audio CPU: 021210 My Grace Notes: 93F My System 0101 There does appear to be quite a disparity between yours and my version numbers. I did see one note on Dodge site for upgrades to the RBZ. It said go to your dealer, so you could try that I recently had mine replaced under warranty, so maybe I got a firmware upgrade with the new unit. (I thought it was funny that I lost all my media and system preferences with new unit, but my bluetooth pairings and phone names were still there. Must not be on same hard drive? or immune to a firmware upgrade anyway.) My R/T option list included Conv Grp II, Rear Seat Video Group I, and Safe and Sound Group. Good luck. (not just with your radio!) Elmwoodie.

My (bought in Canada) 2010 Journey R/T has a RBZ. It has Sirius (until the freeness expires anyway). Convenience Group II Rear seat video group Safe and Sound Group Now, if someone can tell me about some hacked interface upgrade with some better RBZ features, I'd be happy. The interface for playing MP3s from the backseat unit is terrible. You can only see a list of track #s. No title. No artist. Things are definitely better in the front seat.
