  1. I don't disagree with you. I'm a retired technician, although some newer system are a little confusing some information isn't easy to find. When you're on limited income you do what you can afford. No signal was being produced by the PCM to the alternator, so I did what I could afford. That's when the anti theft system started causing a problem.
  2. Yes but, how do I disable the anti theft when the key fob has never worked.
  3. I have never used the key fob to set the alarm as it never worked. In fact the horn started blowing at random even while driving the car so I had to bypass the horn with a separate button. The alarm disarmed this morning and I was able to start the car but, still not charging I had to disconnect the battery again and work on the wiring for the regulator and now the alarm is back on not responding to unlocking the door with the key.
  4. Battery is fully charged, first alt tested bad on shop machine tester, replacement tested full swing at 20V so it works. I'll check for codes tomorrow and try the jey lock. How do I fix the alarm? Fob has known good battery previous was dead.
  5. 2010 Dodge Journey SE 2.4 L. Alarm fob never worked except starting the car. Battery went dead again, charged the battery, now there's no charging from the alternator. I replaced the alternator then the signal from the PCM quit telling the alt. to charge. I wired in a new external regulator after disconnecting the battery. I also had the cables connected overnight to reset the system. When all was reconnected the alarm light was flashing and now the car won't start. It cleared once by pulling the PCM relay, the car started but after a few seconds the car shut down and the alarm was on again. Can't deactivate the alarm. HELP!!
  6. Thank you, I will one day when I have more time.
  7. My horn started randomly blowing, anytime, anywhere, locked or driving, so I bypassed the system and installed a separate horn button, relays and after market horns. Alarm, dome lights from driver's side still don't work. It's probably the TIPM.
  8. This may sound strange but has been known to boost key fob signals by placing the key fob against your temple then push the button.
  9. I have a similar problem, only my alarm doesn't work, key fob only starts the car, nothing else. The horn randomly blows more than once and even while driving. I installed a separate relay, horn button and after market horns. Tip: Everything runs through the TIPM.
  10. Wouldn't that make a fluttering sound? The sound is a steady hum.
  11. None or all it's the same, it's clearly coming from the front of the car, about 65 mph to 70 it starts but with head winds as low as 50 mph.
  12. I have a 2010 Journey SE 2.4L with intermittent horn issue and alarm doesn't work, also driver side doors do not turn on interior lights. I have read that the horn relay is on TIMP board and can be replaced if you're good at soldering.
  13. I have a 2010 Dodge Journey SE. At certain wind speeds I'm getting a humming sound from the front of my Journey, does anyone have an idea what it would be?

  15. My alarm doesn't work and the 2 left doors will not turn on interior lighting. My horn randomly goes off honking spastically, sitting still or while driving. I've tried turning the steering wheel to see if that made a difference, no change, I have to pull the fuses. As there is no horn relay, I assume that the alarm module may be bad. Where is the alarm module located?
  16. In cold weather, first start of the day, not always immediately, my ETC light starts blinking and runs like crap. I have to disconnect the battery and reconnect, ETC light goes out and runs fine the rest of the day. Does anyone have a clue, I don't. Throttle reset doesn't work.
  17. I replaced the ABS module but, didn't seem to fix the issue. However, driving around Sunday evening I looked down, the speedometer, odometer we're working and the engine light went out. It fixed itself somehow.
  18. Not that kind of noise, it whinnies like a horse type sound. It speeds up or slows down with rpm's and changes in pitch but, it's not real loud.
  19. Transmission works fine but, makes noise like a cherping sound that increases and decreases with speed. I have a 2010 Journey SE 4 spd automatic. Any suggestions?
  20. Not the cadilitic converter, issue wouldn't change from running fine to getting in and not running fine. Crank sensor took a crap.
  21. Only 126k miles but then the speedo doesn't work either. Being a retired technician I wasn't too concerned about a few issues, I know it's likely but, it's a clean car and ice cold air.
