Cold weather operating temp for 62te
Daniel Anderson replied to abrewer0820's topic in Engine & Transmission
Mine has been as high as 45 C. Around -29 C Windchill. I was stuck in snow with the Traction control turned off. I could smell the transmission odour while rocking back and forth. Got out once I shovelled away snow behind band front of wheels. -
Although I never had these symptoms I can say a radiator can get dirty. Rural road dust. I was surprised. What I did was remove mine and replaced it (nine years old possibly) (it can be done without disturbing freon charge). A sticking ("cold" 75 C) thermostat (MIL) The engine oil temperature was ten degrees cooler. Replacement in the Fall when the MIL appeared again now the thermostat stays from 80 C to 90 C in Winter months. So no longer stuck.

Could someone change my post on Nov 16 to: "What did you do to your Journey today" ? From my reply to drew blue Oct 27 post: "HVac (motor) fan spinning and still running cold air"
-

Today I cleaned the rear motor squirrel cage in some water with motocraft cleaner. I hooked a spare battery to motor blade connectors alligator clips to get some turbidity. It was dirty. Cured my vibration inside. I set rear heat on automatic. -
Is there a 2025 Dodge Journey in the works ?

I will remeasure for you, the bolts they gave in the box. My eyes are not good for vernier caliper after decimal. But for the two replacement bolts: 29.6 mm x 9.8 mm. (D 10.9 cap head) -
My vehicle has stopped for low fuel light. The MIL has been on for stuck thermostat. Both instances the Command start was aborted. (2015 D Journey Crossroad AWD ) with V-6 engine. Thanks for this answer too

OK I decided at plus six Celsius today to replace thermostat and housing as it has been stuck at 85 Celsius all Summer (code thrown). What I found out is that NAPA's replacement thermostat housing mounting holes and bolts are too big for my engine. (Dorman OE solutions Part No. 902_3036XD).My original (OEM) was 7 mm Dia. (Included metal bushings inside plastic housing) Now I was only able to use new thermostat, rubber seal, locking bracket and spring from ordered part C a u t i o n Please compare sizes before swapping out -

Still driving just over 160 K now. I am hearing or feeling rear (snow) tire jerking sound for a couple seconds when in drive on dry pavement and accelerating. Don't remember this happening in snow My PTU and rear differential fluid changes not till 190 K
