Usb port trying to overrun both radio and audio jack

My radio and audio jack work perfectly fine on their own. But the second that I plug anything into the usb port, the radio switches it's source over to the usb port for 5 seconds of silence then switches back to radio/jack for 5 seconds and repeats that process until I take out the usb port. I just want to listen to music while I charge my phone. 🙃
