I have e had the same issue on my 2016 dodge journey rt with the 6 cylinder. I ha e taken it to 5 different mechanics, both independent and dealerships and it does it intermittently so they try to diagnosis it and they can't figure it out. I have replaced pedal position sensor, TB, tipm, pcm, and added grounds. Funny thing is that it only does it when it's warmer outside.
