I have a 2015 SXT.
in 2020, my navigation one day up and said acquiring signals and has been the same since. Map has shown the middle of the Pacific Ocean as the location ever since
Fast forward to March 6, 2025 when I had a dealer look at it. The note on my work order was "plugged in tester, signal acquired. Replace antenna". jumped in my car, and I see the map showing the dealer location and the surrounding area. Quoted me $300 C.D.N. for labour and the part.
Returned to the dealer on March 14..oops, we ordered the "wrong" part. We need to order a new one and it's now $600 to fix. I said no thank you, you told me $300.
Returned to the dealer on March 19th. We still haven't fixed the car because it still says acquiring signals and needs more diagnostic. Text from the work order is below "
removed cover and removed half the rear headliner. removed rf hub and
removed antenna. installed new antenna and rf hub. installed headliner and
cover. started vehicle and vehicle still says looking for signal. as per diagnostic
tree the antenna needed to be replaced. vehicle will require more diagnostic."
I asked the service manager how it was that after five years of not working, they were able to get it to work with their "tester" but after that, it didn't work again. He asked me if I knew how a light bulb works...one day it's on, the next day it's dead.
this makes zero sense to me. The next steps he says is up to two days at $200/hr to go from the headliner to the front to find the supposed "short". I'm calling b.s. and that they want their money that I wouldn't pay for the mis ordered part.
any suggestions on what to do next? I won't be going back to the dealer.
