I'm a CDJR tech, I agree with those saying get a scantool and pull the dtcs. Also, need more info. From what you wrote, it sounds like it might be that little red dot, along with the no crank that leads me to believe that the vehicle theft security system is active and not letting the engine crank. Does your fob work? If there's an issue with the fob, there will be dtcs. Are you seeing a "key not detected" message on the dash? If your fob's battery has died, press the top of the fob against the start button, if the engine does crank and start, replace the fob battery. The fobs have an rfid chip in them that allows for that scenario, the start button can pickup the signal from the chip.
