  1. Very true, I'm certainly not saying it's wrong, just confusing to us northerners......LOL Terry
  2. I have a 2010 Dodge Journey R/T and I live in Canada. I have always been bothered by the fact it uses USA measurements nothing against our southern neighbours.. This is a really good reason to use the metric eqivalents, after all 99% of the world is metric. Terry
  3. No problem Mr. Fix It, I too am of the age where I grew up on the Imperial system. It was very strange to "relearn" the metric system. It was 1977 and I was in University studying to be an Architect. That was a real learning experience, was it a 2x4 or a 38x89 wood stud as an example. It's strange I have embraced the metric system yet I still say I'm 5' 10 and weigh 200 pounds, some things just don't change....... ;-)
  4. As Bramfrank mentioned because you live in Ontario and have a Canadian Journey I'm not really sure why you would want the American system. Remember there is 2 non metric systems, Imperial and U.S. measurements. Your Journey, like mine has the American equivalents, so when your car reads 20 mpg US , it's actually 25 mpg (Imperial) in something you're more accustomed to. Remember the US system is different than the English Imperial System. Terry
  5. As part of my original deal at this dealership, I get free oil changes for the life any new car I buy. I have bought 6 cars at this dealership and haven't paid for an oil change in nearly 25 years. My oil gets changed 4x a year whether it needs it or not. I only drive that car maybe 12,000 miles a year. Terry

  7. I must admit I do have the leather package in my car and for me the biggest advantage of this is probably my dog, if he gets the seats muddy I just wipe them off. Terry
  8. Up here we have a small company (Fibernew) that does awesome repairs on anything leather, whether it be lather car interiors, couches , jackets etc. I had him repair my leather seat in my Journey and after 2 years the repair is doing very well. I also had him repair a dime sized hole in my Saturn Sky drivers seat and it can't be found now. If any one is interested and if I can find the photos I could put them up. There probably someone in you area that could do the same. Terry
  9. Same here, the mileage difference between city and highway is huge. Terry
  10. Personally Defender007 I would have your dealer or what you consider a honest dealer look at your car because you definately should get better mileage than what yo are getting. My 2010 gets poor mileage in the city and winter but take it for a trip on the highway and I am very happy (see my earlier post). Terry
  11. Now RTM come out west.........as Journey mentioned you dollar really goes far. Terry
  12. I should have kept the seed, who knows what would have grown. Terry
  13. I put chrome tubes on the car instead of true running boards, I agree the exiting is impeded somewhat, Terry

    HOT Summer

I certainly agree with Hockey Puck, It has been very hot (34° C or 93°F) and dry here on the Canadian Prairies, although we had 2 days of torrential rain, tornadoes and very strong winds, but as I said in another thread there isn't a cloud in the sky today, albeit somewhat windy and cooler. Terry
  15. Good point dhh3, I never thought of that. Strange the item that blocked it, it was a seed about the size of a pea. Everything works well now, including the weather not a cloud in the sky. Terry
  16. To All, just a little reminder to make you aware it is imperative to keep your sunroof drain holes clear. Recently we have had 4" of rain and yesterday I had a problem after a rain that when I drove water came into my overhead console and dripped whenever I accelerated. braked or turned a corner. When I took it to my dealer today they found a ball bearing sized seed had worked it's way into my right drain hole. They actually had to use a high pressure air hose to remove it, once it was gone my drain hole worked perfectly. Terry
  17. I never thought I had the same issues as others have had, but maybe I do, I have a 2010 AWD which means a 79.8 liter tank (21 US gallons) and after doing a quick review of Fuelly.com I have had three tanks that that were in the 73-75 liter range so that means I had anywhere from 5-7 liters left (1.3- 1.7 US gallons) yet my guage read very empty and my light came on. I did have an 85 liter fill up but obviously that was a mistake on my part. When I fill it, the pump does click off and the guage reads past the full mark and I usually get 60 miles before it drops any significant amount. Terry
  18. I agree with bramfrank when he mentioned not hanging large key chains from the ignition switch, I just went through the whole GM ignition switch debacle (I'm sure you have heard of it) with my Saturn Sky in which GM asked people to not have huge key chains hanging from their ignition switch. It's only common sense especially for guys who have no purse and carry their keys in their pockets. Terry
  19. Hey bfurth wait until you see my "racing air" in my tires. Terry
  20. Just as an update, I took an extended trip last weekend, in my 2010 Dodge Journey AWD R/T with a 3.5L engine and according to My Fuelly this is my results. I was pretty much doing 116 kph which equates to 72 mph on a mostly single lane highway. 10,62, 10.71 and 10,99 litres/100 kilometers 22.16, 21.82 and 21.41 mpg (US gallons) 26.61, 26.21 and 25.71 mpg (Imperial gallons) So as you can see I was very consistent in all 3 tanks and on the highway gas mileage is good IMO. Terry
  21. If you are asking me about my step bars, I would have to dig out the bill. Terry
  22. BFurth, do you do a tire rotation at every oil change? Certainly not saying it is wrong, just curious. Terry
  23. I totally agree with Rolly's post, this group is very helpful at solving specific problems, not a blanket statement such as Krista's. Terry
