  1. I'm certainly not disagreeing with you but just out of curiousity, where does it say that? I have a 2010 R/T and have never heard of it. I have both my horn and my lights flash when locking the doors and the lights come on when I open them. I believe this can be altered through the EVIC, just check the manual. Best of luck...... terry
  2. I would tend to agree, mine have 36,000 kilometers on a 2010 Journey, while they aren't the best tires (what OEM tires are?) they have treated me well. I don't drive this car much in the summer, prefering my convertible. Terry
  3. As a pro photographer I am very jealous. i am sure you had numerous photo oppotinities. Terry
  4. Thanks for your insight Rolly, very much appreciated. I did a 8000 kilometer/ 5000 mile when I first got my 2010 Journey and was very impressed. Terry
  5. Interesting how we want to individualize our vehicles, numerous people on the Saturn Sky Forum I belong to, many Europeans want to trade Opel emblems for my Sky emblems. Terry
  6. Thanks so much........for not only that, but everything you do behind the scenes to keep this forum going. I know many people enjoy it and probably never say so. Terry
  7. Like I said in another forum it's not a major problem at least to me any way, but I hope the admins fix it soon. Terry
  8. While it is not a major problem, I hope the admins change it fairly soon. Terry
  9. Chris You may want to read these threads, I think some of the info is pertinant to your situation. http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/topic/3293-gps-update/ http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/topic/2878-out-of-date-map-message-from-my-2011-84n/ Terry
  10. Chris I rather doubt that the dealership will cover (have been wrong before) the upgrade cost whether the car is under warranty or not. Case in point, if you bought a new computer would the computer company pay for an upgrade to your Windows 7 to Windows 8 or Office? I have a Navteq system in my 2010 while you have a Garmin in your car. Essentially they are the same. Just so you know it costs $200 everytime I want to upgrade my system. When I was upgrading a Navteq Customer Service Rep told me that every other upgrade is really all that is needed. It's rather ironic but the portable Garmin 250W that I use in my Sky has a lifetime update that I bought when I bought the unit. I have about 2-3 upgrades per year that are basically free. I asked about getting a lifetime upgrade in my car and they told me it wasn't available. This may have changed now. I will post a link to a previous thread here about this subject. Terry
  11. Ron The gas mileage varies greatly whether you are city driving or highway driving. I have got a best of 9.3 L/100 kms. highway driving twice to a worst of 23.6 L/100 kms. city driving in the middle of a cold winter with lots of idling for warmups. I seem to have gotten better mileage the few times I was using Premium gas but not enough experimentation to conclusively say that. As with most vehicles today if you stay at 100-110 kph the car will get better gas mileage than at 120 kph. Unfortunately I live in Saskatchewan where it is soooooo flat that 120 kph on the highway is the norm. If you are interested I have kept track of my gas mileage since Day 1 and this can be viewed by clicking on the Fuelly icon below. As stated before the mileage will get better as you get more kilometers on the car, as stated in previous posts. Hope this helps, don't be afraid to get a hold of me if you have any questions. Terry
  12. Chris Sorry but I still think your mileage is too high, did you have your car put on the computer at a Dodge dealership? I should of let you know I was in town on Monday but I drove up in my summer toy. Terry
  13. IMHO that is still much too high, there is no doubt winter driving in the city gives us very poor mileage up here. Personally I would be very bothered by such a high number. As I have said many times, if you check the My Fuelly badge below my post, it shows my personal mileage from Day 1 back in August 2010. Yes some of my winter fillups were very poor due to long idling or warm ups. I have run premium gas through it and gotten slightly better mileage but not enough times to say conclusively. I went out to my cottage yesterday which is only 50 miles out and obviously 50 back and my EVIC was hovering around the 11.6L/100kms mark so IMO the car is very capable of decent mileage. Terry

    On order

I take that you got a new Journey and got rid of the one that was getting such poor mileage. Did you ever find a solution? Terry
  15. This is almost the colour of my summer toy, a Saturn Sky..... :shades: Terry
  16. I'm sure the dealer would tell you just about anything you wanted to hear after you bought the car from him. In fact he probably has some land for you in Florida for sale right now. Numerous people including a Chrylser rep have advised you that HP and torque are not the only considerations when coming up with a towing number figure, to quote Chris B. "Many things can impact tow ratings such as suspension, tire size, gearing, tuning, wheel base, vehicle weight" to name a few So go ahead and tow 3500# or more, let's hope for your sake you never have to make a warranty claim because as someone else said, you have already admitted to all of us and to Chrysler that you have exceeded the recommended amount which voids any and all warranties. Just my thoughts...... Terry
  17. Chris; I certainly agree with Rolly, you can go to any dealer because it's under Chrysler warranty. I personally do not think too highly of the dealership where you bought it, but that is just a personal opinion.....mine. As I have mentioned to you before, I would encourage you to take it to my dealer Indian Head Chrysler (1-800-652-3181), I know it is 200 miles away, ask for Andrew or even the owner Norm, tell him you are a friend of mine and they can put your car on the computer and maybe figure out what seems to be the problem with your car. I sent you a PM so just read that. Terry
  18. Interesting..... I know I have only towed my 17' boat and my two kayaks, so I have never "put it to the test" Terry
  19. I agree Rolly that might be somewhat beyond a Journey, which brings me to the age old question my 2010 DJ says I have a 3500 lbs towing capacity, does anybody have some insight on this??? Dodge Cares or Dodge Ca Cares?? Terry
  20. I personally have the 7 seater but I bought this vehicle off the lot, but in my case there is just me and my Golden Retriever. I like the 7 seater because it has the rear air and heat, but that is a personal opinion. My dealer told me it has more resale value if I have the 7 seater as opposed to the 5 seater. I have the 2 back seats folded down and have never and probably never will use them, so in a way I am wasting some money. Terry
  21. I agree I've had a black vehicle and while it is very sharp when it is clean, it is very hard (for me anyway) to keep it that way. I have a Stone White Journey now and very happy with it. It was the first white car I ever owned and took some getting used to, but I really like it now. Terry
  22. As I was always told the only stupid question is the one that wasn't asked. All pumps in the US use US gallons and while we use the metric system 99.9%of the time in Canada, we would use the Imperical system otherwise. The US gallon is 4/5 of our gallon. Terry
  23. Thanks......Just curious thats all. I was trying to think if I wanted a change. Terry
