The chrome clad wheel was quite an expensive option, please make sure you get compensated properly. Terry

I certainly believe that, the Dodge Journey is very popular up here. In fact I believe Dodge states in their commercials, "It is the best selling car of it's kind in Canada" Whether that is true or not, there certainly is a lot of them up here. Terry

In my case I was noticing some shuddering and I had my brakes replaced. Terry

I have posted this photo several times, the Journey seems like a very good canvas to start out modding with. Terry -
FOUND Chrome Hood deflector(pics)
Windancer replied to caperinmuskoka's topic in Accessories, Modifications
I got both the hood and sunroof air delectors in a smoked colour, I do like the chrome ones but at the time could not find them. Terry -
I would agree with you, this type of mileage is ridicules and does not reflect the car in general. I know you have many answers to this post and probably don't need another sympathy post. Does your dealer have any idea what may be wrong? Has he said anything to you? Is your EVIC working properly? I don't mean to be condescending and you may have answered this already, but have you done the math manually to confirm the results you are getting? My personal mileage is below the average that most people seem to be getting, but that is probably attributed to my driving habits. If you click on the "My Fuelly" logo below you will observe my mileage has been all over the map. At the moment, I personally am getting 15.9 l / 100 kms over 67 fillups, 23,000 kilometers, with a 43% city vs. 57% highway. I have gotten a best of 9.3 l /100 kms. on a highway trip of 500 km. to a worst of 24.4 l / 100 kms.of city driving during a very cold and snowy period in December during the winter of 2010. Please let all of us know if you get any explanation for your problem. Terry

Thanks, they were approx $400 installed from my dealer, supposedly they were made for a Dodge Journey. As far as their availability in black I can't answer that......... sorry. I would have to look on my bill the part number. terry

All I can say is WOW. Terry -
The best I ever got was 9.3 liters/100 kms in my 2010 R/T AWD on a 500 km. trip from Lethbridge to Regina, I probably could have gotten a weeeeee bit better considering I was going 120 kph all the way and the Highway from Lethbridge to Medicine Hat is single lane and I was fairly aggressive in my passes. Terry Edit: I did get the same 9.3l/100 kms in October using premium gas.

I certainly agree with you Steph, if you are a pirate and resourceful there are maps avilable. I know once when I got a pirated copy of European Highways from my brother who happened to going golfing in Ireland it never worked on my Garmin yet on his it did on his. There is no doubt about it I gave Garmin an upfront fee for my Lifetime Updates, for which so far I am very pleased with, hopefully that continues. Terry

When I bought my Garmin Nuvi 255w back in 2008, When I registered it, I purchased the "Lifetime Update". Everytime I plug my GPS into either my laptop or my desk top computer it automatically advises me if there is a software upgrade or a map upgrade. The software upgrade might happen once a year but the map upgrade might happen 3 or 4 times per year. The map upgrade usually takes about 1-2 hours to complete but is very easy to do. All this is free. Terry

Welcome, there are many people here that are very knowledgable and helpful so you can probably learn more than you want.......LOL. Personally I think you will enjoy the Journey experieince. Terry

I could be wrong (and of course it wouldn't be the first time), As I mentioned earlier , I believe this is a temperature sensor for inside the car. Terry

As another option, Chrysler has said you can go to a 235/55/19 tire which seems to be much more readily available from different manufacturers. This would save you from getting 20" rims and only having to buy the tires. Terry

With all due respect I can not believe 8.6l/100kms in city driving, so please do not take any offense to this, but as drb227 pointed out your calculations showed a 10.693 liter/100kms. I was out at my dealers on the weekend and the stickers in the all the windows of all the V-6 Journeys boasted a 8.4 l/100kms highway and a 10 l /100 kms city rating. As we all know these figures are under ideal conditions and are not represenitive of the "real world" gas mileage. I have said it many times before I once got 9.3 l/100kms coming from Lethridge to Regina. I probably could have done a weeee bit better considering I was travelling at 120 kms/hr and it is a single lane highway from Lethbirdge to Medicine Hat and I was fairly aggresive on my numerous passes. Does that mean my car always gets that good of mileage? No not at all, this was only one tankfull. If you look at drb227's Fuelly, which if you are faithful using is very accurate, he is averaging overall 12.4 l/100kms. over 70 fills which IMO is much more accurate than over a couple of fills, my Fuelly is not quite as generous saying I average 15.9 l/100 over 63 fills, but I am sure the difference can be attibuted to the way I drive. I belive this to be very indicative of the true mileage I am gettting because it takes in to account warming up the car in winter etc. Just my thoughts and my $0.02 on the subject. Terry

Rain Sensing Wipers & Smart Beam?

Interesting, a good idea IMO. Terry -
Dave I too offer my Congrats on your Journey. I have a 2010 R/T and if your car is Canadian which I assume it is, I would expect it to be all metric. You can change the EVIC to American units, but the main speedo is in kilometers/hour. What is marked on the speedo? Are the top speed numbers 130 or 220? If they are 130, it's mph and if they are 220, they ar kms/hr. So in this case why woukld you have the EVIC set to anything but metric when your speedo is in kilometers? Obviously you could verify this by just taking it for a drive and noting whether your speedo registered 50 kms/hr or 30 mph in normal street traffic. Terry

The newer console is probably nicer I have a 2010 also and I was just curious what is there that your 2010 does't have. Terry
