  1. Very good idea Dre and obviously much cheaper, Do you have any problem with it moving? If so, have you figured out a solution. I was thinking some velcro. Terry
  2. Me neither, but I must admit I like it now. it definately grows on you. Terry http://www.pbase.com...image/141743334
  3. I was just giving my vehicle a spring cleanup on Friday and I had a few observations: Although I have done it before to this vehicle, I was just wondering if anyone had some "tips" for waxing a white vehicle. In the past I have only done one area at a time ie: fender, door etc. Is there something I missed? Something else I noticed and maybe someone else has already mentioned it, but "magic erasers" seem to work well at removing small rust spots on the "chrome" 19" wheels. Terry
  4. Welcome Jim........glad to hear you like your car. Terry
  5. The tires on these vehicles have been a constant source of iritation for many here. Chrysler in their wisdom chose to put a unique size of 225/55/19 Kumho tires on this car. Many people have complained both to their dealers and to Chrysler about this problem. So to combat this Chrysler issued a bulletin, and Dodge Cares who is a forum member and works for Dodge may want to comment more on this, that 235/50/19 tires can be used as a replacement. I could be wrong but I believe it should be 235/50/19's not 235/55/19's. Please correct me if I am wrong as I don't want to give out false information. I myself have had no real problems with the Kumho tires on my car, but if you read these forums there have been some "horror" stories about these tires. Terry
  6. My thinking also as I have a 2010 R/T AWD, was going to reply to this but I assumed it was a mistype. Terry
  7. Hope it helped some, IMO they are a good idea. I bought mine from a truck outfitter in town here. I Have the black ones, I should go out and take some photos as there have been a couple of people who were interested. Terry
  8. Caper I bought a Weather Tech mat for the back of my car, so far it hasn't been necessary, thankfully, but I do like the thought it's there. It seems to fit quite well. Overall I am very happy with both the rear mat and the front mats. Terry
  9. Obviously these door sills are quite expensive. This is my opinion and mine only, I put some chrome sill plates on my doors but they weren't illuminated ones. I must admit even though they look good they really serve ME no purpose. I'm sure you have a diiferent opinion which is fine. IMO no one sees or notices them. They get dirty and when washing the car I tend to forget about them until I open the door to get in and leave and then it is too late. I end up wiping them down at home. Just my opinion, others may/will differ Good Luck in whatever you end up choosing. The ones on that website look great. Terry

    Gas mileage

There is no doubt if I travel on the highway with my Journey, it's fuel mileage changes a lot. It can change from 20l/100 kms. to 11l/100 kms which is huge. I guess the bottom line is the Journey does not do well in city stop and go traffic but get it out on the highway an it improves a lot. Terry

    Gas mileage

Dave In all honesty I really don't see either air deflector, the one on the hood and the one on the sunroof, doing much good. Although the hood air deflector seems to keep the bugs off the windshield and I don't seem to have any problem keeping it clean behind the hood deflector, it's a Mopar one if that makes any difference. I understand the non Mopar brands extend over the fenders while the Mopar one only covers the hood, I hope this is clear to you. I have no wiper problems at all so that is good, but the sunroof air deflector seems to cause more air noise with it than without it, of course my kayak carriers may have something to do with the noise. The deflectors look good IMO but I think their use is marginal at best. Of course this is just my own opinion though others may/will differ. ^_^ Terry

    Gas mileage

This is very high for this car, as you can see I am averaging 15.9l/100 km over 59 fill ups which to me is still high when I compare it to others on this forum. I don't mean it the way it might sound, but are you sure of the math? Is this what your EVIC said or did you work it out youself? I have a 2010 R/T AWD Journey with the 3.5 liter V-6 engine. I would think the 4 cyclinder would get a little better mileage than the V-6 although it is a fairly heavy vehicle. Terry
  13. I also live in the Great White North and I agree 22" might look great, but the practical side of me knows that having such large rims and "elastic bands" for tires would be pushing it. Personally, I think a 50 series tire is as low as I would want to go. Just my own opinion though, others may/will differ. Terry
  14. I must admit I am sorry and somewhat surprised that the towing issue seems to be such an issue with many people. I am certainly not writing this to "rub it in" to everyone who has had difficulty installing a hitch, so please do not take it this way. I own a completely loaded 2010 R/T AWD Journey that I bought in August 2010 that had the Chrysler Towing Prep Package on it. When I bought the vehicle, part of the deal was to put the hitch on the car. It must be remembered that I purchased the vehicle from a very small town dealer (Indian Head, Saskatchewan). After I purchased the vehicle they ordered an OEM hitch for me (which at the time was fairly rare). When it came in I took it to have it installed, it took the dealership about 2-3 hours to install it, they did not have to cut the bumper although they did remove it to get at the wiring harness. I have towed my boat on several occasions with no problems. I did read with interest the person who posted about the vertical hitch and bike racks wobbling a bit, I have not tried it, but it does make sense. For the most part, all I really tow now is my kayak trailer. Terry
  15. I believe this to be inaccurate, I certainly am not calling you a liar but the previous owner might have put 20" tires on the car. Unfortunately the largest tire you can get from Chrysler is the unique sized Kumho tire at 225/55/19. This tire is unique to this particular model of car. I have heard of several people going to a 20" 50 series tire as a replacement. terry
  16. I have the ECO light on my 2010, as was previously mentioned I'm not sure if it is available on the 2011 & 2012. It comes on if I'm in 6th gear on the highway or if I driving very sanely in town. I rarely bother with it. I could be wrong but I believe all it is a vaccum gauge on the engine, I'm pretty sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.. Terry
  17. One of the many things I like that the 2011 & 2012 has and the 2010 doesn't. Terry
  18. I can feel your pain Powdered Toast Man. I have posted several times before about this very subject so please excuse the redundancy of this post. I own a 2010 R/T AWD with a 3.5 engine. I live about 360 miles west of you. I have commented before the mileage is no where near the average that Transport Canada gives this car. Sadly they don't live in the real world, that we all do. I have kept track of my mileage since Day 1 with this car. I have driven just over 20,000 kilometers (12,000 miles) and during that time I have filled up 58 times (see my Fuelly logo below). During all those tankfulls I have averaged 15.9 liters per 100 kilometers, which is a little high but it does take in to account all the idling and warm up times during the cold winter months here. You can all check my fillups if you like by "clicking" on the logo below. I have got a low of 9.3l/100 kms. to a high of over 20. Unfortunately my mileage seems to be all over the map. :P I have also mentioned that my EVIC seems to read .5 to .7 low during highway driving and more during city driving. This is how my car behaves, maybe yours is different. Terry
  19. Very valid points, Thanks, was just curious that's all. Terry
  20. Thanks Todd, I like them but it does affect getting in and out of the vehicle
  21. Just out of curiosity......... Why? http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/index.php?/gallery/member/2388-windancer/ Terry
