  1. Check out this thread for some more info http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/index.php?/topic/2900-my-2010-journey-showcar/page__fromsearch__1 Terry
  2. I take it that for you it was very worthwhile. Terry

The colour of your fog lights........ Terry
  4. As bramfrank confirmed the GPS will still work with a "so called out of date map". Personally I think it is only a marketing gimic to get you to upgrade everytime. When I upgraded last year, a service rep at Navteq told me that in his opinion an upgrade would really be only beneficial about every 2 years. Now I do upgrade my Nuvi all the time because I have a lifetime update. I do compare the two maps quite often and they are pretty similiar. Of course this is just my own opinion, yours may differ. Terry
  5. Interesting problem I'm glad that you got it somewhat resolved, as I also have a 2010 Journey, fortunately I have never had this problem. Terry
  6. It is so flat here the old joke is If your dog ran away you could see him for 3 days. Seriously did you find the K&N air filter made a vast difference? The reason I ask is, others have said they really saw no performance increase after they installed it. I was looking for your thoughts.Terry
  7. I am definitely not doubting you, but the name Garmin definately does appear on my update True..... I must admit I am a little dissappointed that's all. Terry
  8. As I have mentioned on several occasions and this may not be typical of all Journeys but the EVIC on my dash is always at least .5-.7 liters/100kms low. The one time my actuals said 9.3 the EVIC on the dash read 8.7 and I got very excited. Terry
  9. As I have stated before, it seems odd that my $160 portable Garmin Nuvi can have a lifetime update (for a cost) and my Navteq system in my car can not. Terry
  10. I could be wrong but I think it is tied to your VIN somehow so I don't think it would work , but let me know if there is a way around it. Terry
  11. There is no doubt about it, the first oil change is always very important! It can get rid of all the metal shavings in the engine. Terry
  12. 2800 miles = 4500 kilometers This may be a little early for synthetic oil but I change my own reglar oil every 4000-5000 kms. Terry
  13. Very impressive but with all due respect that really isn't a good test because it is very short. It does show what you were getting during that trip though. A case in point I got 9.3l/100 kms. on the highway home from Lethbridge to Regina, yes that is fairly decent mileage but not a true reading of my car. Yes my car got 9.3l/100 kms.but is that a "true" reading of it's performance? No not IMO anyway. You can see by my current My Fuelly logo that I have averaged 15.9 for 20,000 kilometers. I have kept track of my fuel mileage ever since I got the car. If you click on the logo, it will show you all 58 fillups. This average takes in to account highway vs. city, summer vs. winter, where there is warm up periods, snow etc. On the highway I usually travel at 120 kph which is about 72 mph. Once again that will increase fuel consumption. You can also look at drb227's fuelly, he's averaging 12.3 over 51 fillups. IMO, and of course you are free to disagree, putting the gas mileage over a longer distance is more accurate. I don't know if this is typical of everyone's car but It has always been the case where in my car my EVIC is a little bit lower than the actuals. If my EVIC says 13 I can safely assume the actuals would be closer to 14. Obviously this post is just my own opinion, I am glad though you feel you are getting decent gas mileage. Terry
  14. As drb mentioned the Daytime Running Lights are mandatory in Canada, I believe they are disabled in the States. You would have to check with your dealer regarding enabling them. Terry
  15. I could be wrong (wouldn't be the first time) but I don't see any reason why they wouldn't, Chrysler has come out and said that 235/55/19 tires could be used as a replacement. Perhaps Dodge Cares could give us a more definitive answer. Terry
  16. I have a loaded up 2010 R/T AWD that now has 20,000 kms (12,000 miles) and so far no probems at all. I bought it in August 2010. I'm not sure if that is what you wanted to hear, but count me as one person who is happy with his Journey. I know others have had some problems and they do have my sympathy, I guess I just lucked out. Terry http://www.dodgejour...2388-windancer/
  17. Seems like my 10 minute commute is pale in comparison. :o Terry
  18. I am not "rubbing it in" but my my 2010 R/T AWD had the crossbars included, I have since added some Malone Kayak carriers. Terry
  19. Welcome to a fellow Canadian, from Regina. As most people know I have a fully loaded white 2010 R/T AWD that I am very happy with. It can be seen at: http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/index.php?/gallery/member/2388-windancer/ Terry
  20. 1.at 3000km it was having issues starting it wouldn't turn over, they did an update on the computer and didnt have the issue after. That one baffles me.. 2. at 6000km i needed to replace my front rotors and brake pads. I have heard this to be a problem, I just turned over 20,000 km. (12,000 miles) this morning and so far so good. 3. my passenger door wouldn't lock, had that replaced, then the tale gate wouldnt lock and would set off my alarm, had that replaced. I am fairly sure the passenger door issue is a recall notice. Not sure about the tailgate though. 4. at 11000km I had to have my rotors and break pads done again, I am surprised, you may want to take this up with the company who did your brakes. 5. got my tires rotated because the passanger side was wearing faster. This may be a wheel allignment problem, you should have it looked at 6. go in for an oil change, get them to look at the shimmy i'm feeling, to find out they put the bolts on wrong and then slapped on the lug nuts, stripping them, so i had to have them chipped off, yes chipped off, oh and replaces my front rotors and break pads (THIRD TIME) This is definately a problem with the dealership and they should take responsibility for this. I'm thinking about trading it in for either a newer model or something different. Don't give up on the Journey, there are many satified owners out there.
  21. No problem, I personally feel a little silly through this whole experience, seeing as it was me. Terry
  22. For your info, I live just north of the Sun Shine capital of North America so please don't say we don't say we don't know what sunshine is. As drb227 pointed out, I rather doubt without the aid of Google maps, you even know where he lives. He makes a very good point about being an informed consumer. Terry
  23. That's still a bit high as you can see I am still at 16/100kms. which is stil quite high, although that is an overall average of both city and highway driving. I had my car out on the highway over the weekend and it dropped to the mid 10l /100lms. As I have said before on several occasions the EVIC seems to be somewhat lower than the actual mileage. If you want to see my personal mileage click on the Fuelly logo below, and it should give you a detailed account of my car. Terry
