Just wanted to let people know Chrysler finally has a part number for several requested items. On Friday I had some Chrysler Step Bars made especilly for the Journey installed. Also the front valance as shown in the photo is now available, I saw it last Friday and never picked it up, I was more interested in getting my Chrysler step bars installed. Terry

Cell Phone Is Too New
Windancer replied to Windancer's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
Just as a follow up to this thread Redtomatoman, it proved to be an ID 10T problem. Otherwise known as an idiot problem or a user problem. I now have it working just fine, in fact it works better than my old Blackberry as it Blue Toothes as soon as I get in the car, don't have to touch the phone at all. Terry -
Gotcha!!!

This part is now available in Canada at least. I have one sitting out at my dealer as I type this. I saw it last Friday and never picked it up, I was more interested in getting my Chrysler step bars installed. See http://www.dodgejour.../606-side-bars/ Terry

I certainly agree with you DRB227, integrated systems look much better IMO. I have to say that if you pay to have a Nav system there should be some provisions in place to have lifetime updates, it is somwhat embarssing that a $160 portable GPS unit from Garmin can have a lifetime update available while my built in unit does not. Terry

I agree, if you are unhappy sell it and get something you like. You would do it with anything else you own why is a vehicle any different? Don't keep complaining about it. Terry

what would you like to change it to?

Thanks

Nothing at all???? I had been contemplating getting a whole new system but that is disheartening. I was thinking of getting an Avenger box and typhoon air intake system and adapting it to a Journey. Can others comment on this! BTW, my car is a 2010 AWD R/T with a 3.5l engine. Terry

Painted Grille, Mopar Wheels, Smoked Lights
Windancer replied to n00bert's topic in Accessories, Modifications
We all have our thoughts as to what looks good and what doesn't, there is no right answer here. We all indidualize our vehicles Personally I proably wouldn't have done it this way, as I like chrome, but maybe it's an age thing. My white 2010 R/T AWD has chrome mirrors, chrome wheels, chrome gas cap, chrome sill covers, chrome R/T emblems on each front fender, chrome roof rack and cross bars, "chrome" Buick portholes on each front fender as well as "chrome" edging on my front air/bug deflector and front valance. Does it appeal to everyone? No I really don't want it to. I just want everyone to respect what I may do, they may not agree with it. http://www.dodgejour...nder-treatment/ Terry -
These Keys AKA transponders SUCK!!!!!!!!!!
Windancer replied to funegirl's topic in Owner Impressions
With all due respect you have to realize we live in an era of electronics. Unfortunately these electronics are somewhat fragile, I am sorry to hear that your FOB went through the wash, but would you be critcizing Samsung if you did the same thing to your cell phone or Nikon if your P&S digital camera went through the wash? As several people have pointed out to you, we are all ultimately responsible for our own actions. Unfortunately it is a very expensive lesson probably one you won't repeat any time soon. I really don't think venting towards Chrysler or other car makers for "inferior" or expensive parts will solve anything. Just my thoughts.......YMMV Terry -
Hi DRB just wanted to add a little to your story. As you probably know I have a 2010 R/T AWD Journey. It has a Navteq (Garmin's parent company) GPS. I wanted to update my maps and unfortunately they want $200 each time. I finally succumbed and upgraded. That was last May and the disk they sent me was wrong, after many emails back and forth we got it fixed (credit goes to a Navteq customer service rep). The reason I mention this is because I have a Garmin Nuvi 250W that I used in a previous car and it has a lifetime map update ($125) and is usually updated 4x a year. I asked Navteq if they offered a lifetime update to which they replied NO. It's a shame when a $169 portable GPS has an option of a lifetime update when a $3000 built in system does not. Unfortunately for Navteq I really can't see any more upgrades. I must admit it is very frustrating. If the updating of your system is like mine, it's a fairly painless and not a time consuming process. Terry

Need help with chrome door handles, and mirrors!!!
Windancer replied to evanhewer's topic in Accessories, Modifications
I think only the R/T has chrome door handles at least that is how it was 2010......unfortunately. I have chrome door handles, step bars, mirror caps etc as well as a chrome gas cover and chrome edging on my sunroof and hood air deflector as well as my valance. Terry -
Weathrtech Floor Mat Pictures?
Windancer replied to generaltso's topic in Accessories, Modifications
Personally I think the Weathertechs fit better than the Husky liners but that is a personal opinion and there may be others who would disagree with me. I will try to take some photos tonight when I get home from work or first thing tomorrow morning. Terry -
Weathrtech Floor Mat Pictures?
Windancer replied to generaltso's topic in Accessories, Modifications
I would post some pics but after rereading your post I'm afraid my response wouldn't be too helpful. I have a 2010 Journey R/T, I have some Weathertech liners but mine only have a single hook. I must admit the liners are great especially since we are in the midst of some unseasonably warm weather. There should be over a foot of snow on the ground and it should be very cold by now -
I just wanted to let others know about a new issue that I am now dealing with. On Monday I got a new cell phone (Samsung Galaxy S II) and the bluetooth it is too new for pairing with my 2010 Journey R/T. I want to thank Chris (of Dodge Cares fame) for helping me out and identifying this problem. I phoned Chrysler Canada (1-800-465-2001) and they told me they were working on this problem and to keep in touch with my Service Department at my dealer. Terry

I'm not bugs but here is my take on this. IMO it tows very well, my car came with the trailer towing package on it, I had the hitch installed by the dealer. So far I have towed my 17' tri hull boat and a small utility trailer. I do have the Autostick but have not used it much whan towing, I have the 3.5 liter engine in my car. terry

mirror questions
Windancer replied to jdram88's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
the chrome mirror caps ar fairly expensive but I do agree they look good. I put them on my car and am very happy with them. http://www.dodgejour...nder-treatment/ -
Looks great, I had to change my sig a little, no biggie. thanks for all your behind the scenes work! Terry

A couple of weeks ago this happened to me, my dealer told me that when I washed my car the day before that moisture probably got in to one of my sensors and froze. Sure enough once it warmed up a little it went off.Hope this helps...... Terry

I bought my 2010 R/T AWD in August 2010 and I have 17,000 kilometers (11,000 miles) and I am very happy with it. It has lots of power, carries my 2 touring kayak or all my windsurfing gear. terry

There has to be "something" wrong. Is the EVIC in the vehicle correct? Have you documented what you are getting and sent it to Chrysler? Dodge Cares gave the telephone number out in another thread. I really hope you can get to the "bottom" of this. Terry
