  1. As your probably know, all cars sold in Canada are required to have daytime running lights. They are always on, so the use of parking lights may be somewhat redundant. I would use the headlights whenever it get too dark fir the DRL's. Terry
  2. How long are your kayaks? I transport both my 17 footers and the front ties don' t come close to the hood. I don't think you want to use your air deflector as a spacer for this rope. Terry
  3. I put both the hood and sunroof air deflectors on and it made a big difference. Terry
  4. It's really too bad that you had such a bad experience with a 2010. I myself am very happy with my 2010 R/T. I have not driven a 2011 so I can't compare the 2. I know main mango describes a 2011 as much better than a 2010, as far as my car is concerned I would be very surprised a 2011 could be that much better. I am not saying he is wrong by any means just curious that"s all. Terry
  5. Victor I have a chrome gas cap on mine, see http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/index.php?/gallery/member/2388-windancer/. Terry
  6. Hi Victor Very nice car, I do like the colour of it. I do however have a couple of questions for you. Is this an American or Canadian car? Is it a Crew or an R/T? The reason for these questions is it has chrome door handles and a chrome roof rack. Did you put the chrome mirror caps on? And lastly, as others will point out to you it has "the old Style front end" with the 2011 grille. Just curious, as I said love the colour. Terry
  7. Congrats on the excellent mileage, I, personally have never reached that. My personal best is 9.3L/100 on a very flat highway that is double lane 60% of the time although it was very early on in the history of my car. I would suspect that my mileage is improved somewhat by now. Unfortunately that great gas mileage is just one mement in time (albeit a good one). I have tracked my mileage since 'Day 1' and over 40 fillups I have an average of 15.6L/100 over 13,000 kms (7800 miles) as can be seem by "My Fuelly" badge in my signature. Unfortunately I still think 15.6 is still a little high, but it is coming down over summer with a little bit more highway driving. Terry
  8. Congrats on your exceptional mileage. The best I ever did was 9.3/100 kms and that was from Lethbridge, Alberta to Regina, Saskatchewan. To anyone who has travelled that road, they know it is fairly flat and is double lane about 70% of the way. terry
  9. This may be a dumb question but are you basing that number on the onboard computer or good old fashioned math? The reason I ask that is there may be something wrong with the onboard computer. Either way something is definately wrong. I am getting 15.6 on 40 fillups, which is a little higher than one would expect, but no where near your number. If you wish to see my gas mileage just click on the My Fuelly logo at the bottom of this post. P.S. my 2010 R/T AWD has 13000 kilometers on it. Terry
  10. I know when I put one on my car it seemed to help a lot.It is just my perception only. I know that others may disagree. Terry
  11. I almost missed this post, sorry. My car has the Mopar Trailering package and I had the OEM hitch installed. I was told by my dealer (rightly or wrongly) that it was good for 3500 lbs. All I have towed with the car is my boat which is only a 17' trihull and doesn't come close to 3500 lbs. You can see a photo of my hitch in the 6th post at If you have any other questions just ask and I will do my best to answer them or maybe another member can help you also. I can certainly go home tonight and take some photos and see what (if anything) is stamped on the hitch if that would help. Terry

I know I was very surprised and satisfied when I installed 225/50/R16 Toyo Proxe 4's on my PT Cruiser. Good to know, will keep this in mind when it comes time to replace my tires.
  13. I bought mine a week before I left for a 3 week to the west coast. I went on a 6 day sea kayaking on the north end of Vancouver Island and I was very impressed with the car. IMO this is a great road trip car. Terry
  14. I know that my little Garmiin Nuvi 250W and it's lifetime updates seems to be better than the car's Navteq System. That is only my opinion only and does not reflect others. Other than that I am very happy with my car. To Navteq's credit the latest update is much better than the previous one. Terry
  15. I've had Thule racks for over 20 years and they are qyuality equipment, I had them on several of my vans etc. and I was very happy with them. When I got my journey instead of getting another set of feet, I decided to us the OEM bars that came with my car. I use my racks for my kayaks (see photo) and my windsurfing boards. I bought a set of Malone cradles and used the OEM roof racks and the crossmembers. So far all works well, I did notice a decrease in wind noise once I put the sunroof air deflector on. 16. That is one of the differences between a 2010 and a 2011. In my 2010 it has a 30 gig hard drive which will will support photos etc. I won't comment which is better as they both have some advantages. I'll second what drb227 said "By the way WELCOME!! This is the best forum for Dodge Journey owners" Terry
  17. Interesting, as I had the same problem with my PT Cruiser Convertible. The dealer quickly replaced my battery and it never happened again. Terry
  18. Sorry I mistakenly left that out. I was just at the Canadian Dodge site. Sorry.... Terry
  19. I know this is a very old thread but I wanted to mention that my dealer used an electric erasure (the kind used in drafting departments) if it is just a vinyl sticker to remove my dealer sticker from my PT Criuiser. I know this sounds weird but it worked well. Terry
  20. I'm like Saskguy we live in the same province, I'm at work now but I'll check when I get home for mine. I also have one for my PT convertible and my van (got a new front bumper after I damaged it). Terry
  21. I have a white 2010 R/T that now has 13,000 Kms on it, and so far no problems whatsoever. see: http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/index.php?/gallery/member/2388-windancer/ Terry
  22. Thanks, I enjoy my little toy too. Terry
  23. Yes congratulations and welcome aboard the forums. There are many knowledgable and friendly people here. Terry
  24. I believe and according to the Canadian Dodge website www.dodge.ca which I checked today, that the 4 trim levels of the Canadian Dodge Journey are as follows: SE SE Plus SXT R/T I believe that a LUX is "Your" designation. Terry
  25. Hey Mainmango, just wanted to let you know that my 2010 Journey R/T has chrome exhaust tips also
