I hope you realize that I was quoting Defender 007 and what he was expecting. not what I thought I should get. I think the My Fuelly logo at the bottom of my post speaks to the fact I am quite aware of the actual gas mileage. :D terry

I agree the Navteq system in my 2010 isn't much better. I upgraded my Navteq System earlier this year, it cost me $199. The upgrad went smooth and effortless. At the begining of May, I ordered another upgrade again and it cost me another $199. They sent me a disk and the activation number never worked, so I had to send it back. they replaced the disk but it still never worked. I contacted Navteq and after the third call, they finally admitted they were having some problems with the Chrysler upgrades. I finally got it working after they sent me another Activation code. To their credit the newer map is very good. Unfortunately this whole experience has left "a sour taste in my mouth". On the other hand, I bought a Garmin 250W back in August 2008, at the time I also purchased a "lifetime" upgrade for $120. It turned out to be a great investment, iIt upgrades both the software on the unit as well as the maps as necessary. I have it setup that as soon as I plug it in to either my desktop or laptop computer, it will take me to the Garmin website and tell me if the software needs updating and it gives me 4 map updates a year. The only downside these updates can take up to 4 hours but I do them at night while I am sleeping. Just to reinforce what Zmttoxics said, a portable GPS is a good idea when compared to the built in Nav unit. Just my thoughts......YMMV terry

It's funny most people seem to want to go the other way I would imagine that you would have to get new 2nd row seats as the 7 seater seats have a different sliding and tilting mechanism than a normal 5 seater. Terry

On my Journey and my PT rims I have used a "Magic Eraser" which is found everywhere. It seems to work very well on wheels. I have used it to take small rust spots off of my chrome wheels and it cleans without leaving any scratches. One thing to remember about dish soap is that it will remove any wax that is on that surface. Terry

That is a whole can of worms. I have a 2010 Dodge Journey R/T and the nav system uses the Navteq system. I am on my second upgrade to my system which incidentally cost $199 per up grade. The first one went very well but the second one Navteq is having a known problem with, and after 2 weeks it is not solved yet. Needless to say I'm not very happy with Navteq at the moment. I know the 2011's use a Garmin system, which in my experience is much better. I have 4 GPS units, one for all my Nikon cameras, 2 Garmin hand held units, and a Garmin Nuvi 250W. When I bought the Nuvi two years ago, I purchased the "Lifetime" update. Everytime I connect my GPS to either of my computers it tells me if my map is current or if my software needs upgrading. To answer the OP's question you may have to look on the car's GPS as to where to upgrade. If it is similiar to the Navteq system, the upgrades come to you on a DVD and you just insert into your car's CD player and let it work it's magic. Terry

That is certainly high. As others in this forum know I have a 2010 which I have kept tracking the gas mileage for 12,000 kms. and 37 fillups which you can see by clicking on the "My Fuelly" badge in my signature below. This average takes in to account cold winter idling, both city and highway driving. Personally I have had a best of 9.3 l/100 kms. to a low of around 21 l/100 kms. It can vary quite a bit. I have recommended to many to use "My Fuelly" which is free. To their credit drb227 & mindorensis have signed up and are willing to openly share their findings, good or bad. So far they are doing better than me Of course this is only my opinion, others may differ. Terry

I mean no disrespect to you whatsoever but Why??? Are you some sort of Elitist? Last time I checked I put up with all your concerns about your 2011 models. The inability to get certain colours, new fascias controversy, the inability to get 8.4 Uconnect to work properly, all the complaining about bluetooth and VC commands and the big one "tracking" to mention only a few. I certainly don't have those problems and I have yet to complain about any of this. There is no division of the Journey based on production year. We all have Dodge Journeys, and it doesn't matter what year. I certainly don't feel superior to a 2009 Journey owner just as I don't feel inferior to you or any other 2011 owner. There have been improvements as the years went on I'll admit that , it is only natural to improve on a good thing. IMO, There is no reason to divide this forum. Terry

No problem mainmango, as I said in another thread, there is no right or wrong answer to this. I agree with you, moondwagon does have a good looking wagon (pardon the pun). I think it probably has a lot to do with our ages (I really hate to admit this). The reason I say this is because when I was "growing" up, chrome wheels and big tires were in vogue. In todays world there are much more choices especially when it comes to wheels and tires. Back when I was younger there weren't many body coloured or back wheels, today they are more the norm rather than the exception. There is no doubt about it, a person can go "overboard" with chrome, it is a fine line between what may look good and "tacky". I really do think moondwagon's wheels and tires look good, just not what I may do. I am certainly not saying that's wrong, it is what he chose to do and I certainly respect that. I know that I am doing the exact opposite on my Journey that I did on my PT convertible. On my PT because it was black, I tended to have very little chrome (except the wheels). As I said earlier it is probably because groing up chrome 5 spokes were what was cool. On my Journey it initially had more chrome and it was white. Terry
