I tend to use the remote and let my car "warm up" about 5 minutes although with the deep freeze we are now experiencing it does seem to help much........ Terry

What Did You do to your Journey Today

I'm not jkeaton but on my Journey I installed the Mopar chrome ones as shown in the attached photo. Terry -
I would tend to agree with bigtsr, I think that only works if you start it with the remote. At least with my 2010 Journey seems to work that way. Terry

Canadians (Ontario)....Anywhere to get after market mats???

How did you like them? It's too late for me but are they similar to Weather Tech? Terry -

I bought Weather Tech Floor mats for my car and so far I am very happy with them. Yes they are more money but the protection they offer, is great. I bought the fronts plus the rear cargo liner. I would have bought the second and third row but being a single person the third row has never even been used and I rarely have any one in the back seat. I have the OEM hitch basically because when I bought the vehicle it had the towing option on it and the hitch was part of the deal. Terry -
Thanks for the comment on my Journey, The chrome side rails, the chrome R/T emblems on the fenders, the "Buick" Port holes and the "chrome" edging on the valance, hood and roof air deflectors all seem to contribute to a very unique look. Yes I am very familar with the Guess Who and their song. I live in Regina and the group is from Winnipeg, but they spent a lot of their early years in my city. In fact Burton Cummings originally married a girl from Regina, their song "These Eyes" was written in Regina. Terry

Much better than the -30° we are experiencing today. Here is my car last October coming back from Saskatoon. Terry

That's still quite high IMO, mine is around 18.8 at the moment but you are right idling will usually boost mine anywhere from 2-2.5 l/km. Terry

I would tend to agree, When my tires hit 40,000 kms (24,000 Miles)I was advised to remove them, they would probably last me another summer but winter driving was "pushing" it. I replaced my 225/55/19 Kumhos with 235/55/19 Michelin Latitudes HP and haven't looked back since. To date I have had no problems with them and they seem to be very good in deep snow and on ice. Not as good as winter tires but no complaints from me. Terry
-
Interesting how I got 40,000 kms. out of the tires but replaced my front brakes at 30,000 kms. so I too would have to agree it' not the driving style. Terry
-
I know Dodge will not replace them as wear with tire is a fact of life. I replaced my original 19" Kumhos at 40,000 kilometers (24,000 miles), I know that many people have criticized the Kumhos and who am I to argue, in my case they were decent tires but there is always the other side. I replaced them with MIchelin Latitude HP's, and so far am very pleased. The store said I would probably get another summer from them but advised using them this winter. I live up north on the Canadian Prairies where winters can be tough. Personally I would have liked to get more mileage from them but I realize they were OEM tires and were probably quite soft so that the ride would be even nicer. I truly think to get maximum wear from them, you should rotate them faithfully, make sure the wheel alignment is proper and get them up to the proper tire pressure all the time so that the wear is consistent. This is just my opinion and should be taken as such. Terry

Certainly not saying you're wrong by any means, just wondering where you saw Firestones. I may have missed it. Terry -
Wish it was more.....LOL. but seriously I try to leave it down in the garage almost all the time from June to September. In April, May, October and even November it can be easily driven but most often with the top up. Terry

Thanks guys, I know I really like the Sky, so much fun to drive... Terry

Well for me mine is the only one, My brother has a BMW, and my parents are deceased, I am single and most of all, I have a summer toy. I only drive maybe 10,000 kms. per year and when you drive 2 vehicles I don't put many miles on. My Journey is a 2010 and has only 40,000 kms and almost 10,000 of it is a long trip I took right after I bought it. Terry Summer Toy 2010 Dodge Journey

I used to carry both my Kayaks on my roof but have since got a trailer. Terry

The first expression l/100kms. is based on CONSUMPTION and is a an actual number, An actual number of kms. (100) and an actual quantity of fuel (say 10.2 liters) It takes to travel 100 kms. no more no less. If you care to read more on this go to: http://www.skepticbl.../mpg-vs-l100km/. Terry

As I have said before, I definately would agree the "around town" mileage is not a strong point especially up here in the Great White North with all the idling and "warming up" we are forced to do because of the conditions. In my experience where the Journey does shine is Highway gas mileage as it climbs immensely. The winter mileage up here of these cars is abysmal but IMO they are great vehicles. Terry

Yellow Duck I just talked to my dealer and we are probably both right but maybe more you .......Yes when we drive down the highway even though it is a AWD you are correct that only the front wheels are producing any power but the rear wheels will produce power immediately upon any front wheel loss of power. You are correct power can be transmitted to the rear wheels as needed according to the sensors. Lots of electronics and software controlling the whole deal. Sorry for any confusion.... Terry
-
I only have a 2010 and they may have changed it but I believe it is always full time AWD, but it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong. Terry
-
Is it not full time AWD? Terry
