I was talking with the deareship today and mentioned the undercoating. I want to know if anyone has pros or cons about it. The dealer said it would be a lifetime warranty on the undercoating if we did get it. I am thinking seriously of getting it but just wanted to here from some people with their experiences, Thank you Rob

Dodge Journey gets 5 Stars in crash tests
Hit-By-Thunder replied to DogSportz's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
Ya I feel the same way. That frontal crash is really amazing. Man that thing hit hard. In 2001 I was in a highway headon collision and spent 15 months in therapy, my knees and ankles are still bad with severed nerves. The wife fractured her back in 3 places, intestines were tore in 3 places, broke her left arm major laceration to the face above the left eye, the skin ripped not cut and soo on The kids were in their proper car seats and pretty much walked away. Kids to this day will not sleep over at someones house, we are all very close to each other. So the safety of the Journey was a BIG selling factor, trust me ok, off my soapbox now -
Hey everyone, I bought a sales brouchure from e-bay, well not a sales brochutre but and actual Sales Training handout says,...For Sales Consultant use only. It mention of a new color not even listed any where. there are the 1) Bright Silver Metallic 2) Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl 3) Deep Water Blue Pearl 4) Inferno Red Crystal Pearl 5) Light Sandstone Metallic <- what we ordered 6) Melbourne Green Pearl 7) Silver Steel Metallic 8) Stone White and the new color,.... 9) Surf Blue Pearl for those of you wanting a different color blue, it will be coming. It is mentioned as a late availability Interesting reading material, 14 pages of heavy LB gloss paper. A must have for any journey nut,.... Roxanne, Keith Rob

Stopped by the dealer today and bribed the salesmanager with some Timmy's coffee (extra large double double) and chatted with him for about 45 minutes. He looked into the Journey and said I have and Estimated Shipping Date as April 22. After yaking about cars and business, we hit it off very well. He marked on my work order with pen "SAVE WINDOW STICKER". "I'll bet you want that huh?" he said um my answer was a control ya ya ya ya ya!!!!!!!!!!! he was just grinning. I told him that this is our very first new car ever and are sooooooooooooooo excioted that I do not want to become a pest. He again laughed and said no worries, call and stop in any time and we will check into the order for you. Feels good to have the big cheese in my corner. excitement is building Roxanne and Keith OH GOD I CAN HARDLY SLEEP AT NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rob

hey Brad, I have never leased before, so I can not say anything. We are buying out right and we plan on keeping it for a VERY long time. I got ours for just over 31000 AWD SXT Full load except smokers group. Never even wanted to drive the FWD after the AWD. Our back ally had snow and ice when I bought it home to show the wife and the car took off like a raaped ape and that was with the Kumho ribbed allseasons. I was VERY impressed. We plan on parking the Journey through the winter and using are current 93 Caravan as the winter beater. sorry for straying off topic, oops Rob

Ya Brad, the blind spot for shoulder checking was a big issue for me but I usually buy those small convex mirros and apply them to the mirrors anyhow for added safety. I never tried the windows being open and driving down the highway. I ordered the sunroof cause I don't like the wind noise inside the car. The sunroof opened up part way and the vents open allows for great ventilation. The 2nd row does slide back a fair bit, the actual amount I am unsure of but I do you you about the seat kicking thing, I HATE IT. The issue on the blind spots, I heard some were removing the headrests to allow better vision for changing lanes. The test drive that I had was an SXT AWD with the chrome clad wheels and loved the way it drove The SXT AWD has the performance suspension where as the FWD has the softer touring style ride. Let others chime in and see what gets said

hey GarynBeth, welcome to the forum. I do agree that for the money, it is the best deal. Where do you live? There is one like the one you ordered at the dodge dealer here but I think it is AWD and no sunroof. Maybe get some pictures for you even if you want. I Pass by everyday after work to see if there is any news on ours. Ours has been ordered just about 4 weeks ago Welcome to the forum Rob

Dealer Said there is a Rapid Response Recall
Hit-By-Thunder replied to Steven's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
hey that is great Steve, when I was reading your post, I was thinking it was the leaking issue but it sounds like from your post that the first few have slipped through and they want to be sure that the sunroofs are all ok. Pobably the drain was redirected or the draintube was reattached. Wonder what the real problem is? -
left an answer on his answering machine.............

yes, my dealer is saying the same thing, He metioned about not being scheduled to be built yet, but never mentioned late availability. I will call the salesman right now, hang tough................. 6:15pm right now

Thank you Brad, I will try and somebody else may chime in to help too. so here goes,... Yes, you can use the voice command but I hear it is very slow. I prefer the screen up on the top of the stack IMHO. The radio with regular Back up camera and no Nav works ok too and I also heard that the radio was placed lower than the Heat/air controls because most drivers will rest their hand on the shifter and with a touch screen all you have to do is play without supporting the arm so to speak, now I have read that in one of the reviews from Dodge where who knows and can't remember. I only read it once. now as for the headphone jacks, they are IR wireless, and the heat/air controls are either adjusted from the front center stack just below the controls for the front and also the controls are mounted on the rear DVD console for persons who want to adjust the rear temp and their zone. Problem is they are too far away for little hands to reach so this may be a good thing or bad, depending on how you look at it. The best thing to do Brad is do a google search of Dodge Journey and click on images, there are a swack of different images, but right now, here is the controls on the DVD console

YaI hear ya, but for me it's more like impatiently waiting. I have chewed all my nails off and I am now working on the first set of knuckles money is burning a hole in my pocket and I want to buy NOW!!!!!!. Hey Keith, if you have any inside info on how to track our Journeys, please let us know. My dealer said my Journey has not been schedules yet (3 weeks now) cause I ordered a fully loaded SXT AWD, the Nav system is not scheduled for build yet ????? On a side note,.... Story behind the name, I am a Ford boy and Ford was going to produce an Expedition with the lightning engine and all the goodies, I was waiting for it to go into production as I wanted one soooooooooooooooooo bad. So if you owned a lightning you wereso called,... stuck by lightning so to speak and when the "Thunder Exdedition"was to come out, I picked the user name as "Hit-By-Thunder". I have a decal on my truck that was custom made and it says my users name. My friends call it "Thunder's truck" and I laugh cause it sounds like AC/DC's song Thunder struck kind of a play on words, kinda neat too. so that is the little story of my user name Rob
