hey Brad, the radio with the navigation is unique to the Journey. If you have the backup camera the screen is in the radio but if you have the nav, the screen is where the top stack cubby hole is,... Note the different radio and it IS NOT touch screen, the entertainment 2 package comes with the 6 disc radio that utilizes the middle knob on the radio and in the center of that knob is the black joystick. The pro with this to me is the screen is up where you want it but the con is that it has a joystick and no touch screen

went to the dealer yesterday and tried the sliding arm rest. I like the idea that if you have the cell phone in the little storage area just ahead of the armrest, you could hide it by just sliding the armrest ahead and it would be completely covered. Also another place for the Ipod Nano. hard wire it into that place maybe?????? Rob

Towing package bought, but lose wires in trunk??
Hit-By-Thunder replied to Steven's topic in Hauling & Towing
yes Rick, that is why we oredered with the towing package ahem towing prep package it's just nice to have the factory installed cooler for the oil as an extra safety -
this is what is in the manual,... NOTE: USB devices (e.g., camera memory USB adaptors, etc.) must comply with the MSD (Mass Storage Device) standard. This USB terminal can provide power to the inserted device. The devices current limitation must be less or equal to 500mA. The transfer speed for this USB connector is approximately 2 megabytes per second. MP3 player devices cannot be controlled through the USB connector. Some player devices save music files in MP4 format, which cannot be played in this radio. Some copy protected music (e.g., downloads from the internet) cannot be played on this radio. AUX Mode The AUX connector allows you to connect the headset output of an audio device (e.g., MP3 player) to the navigation radio. The audio of the connected device will then be played through the navigation radio sound system. Connect a 3.5 mm stereo mini-jack cable as shown above (not provided with the radio) to the AUX connector on the navigation radio and to the earphone connector of your audio device. The display will switch automatically to the AUX mode, when a 3.5 mm stereo mini-jack cable has been connected. The radio screen will revert back to the last tuner mode when the cable is unplugged. To change to AUX mode while the cable is connected to the unit, press the MEDIA button until the AUX tab is highlighted on the top of the screen. Adjust the volume with the ON/OFF VOLUME knob, or with the volume of the attached device. The control of the external device (e.g., selecting playlists, play, fast forward, etc.) cannot be provided by the radio; use the device controls instead.

Have the dealer do a search for a matching car at other dealers. You may find one with a couple other options as well. Because we ordered a full load SXT AWD it will have to be factory ordered, Not one in Canada, at time of ordering Light Sandstone with pebble beige interior

Back-Up Camera
Hit-By-Thunder replied to kconnors's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
I know the Dodge dealers have a tool called "StarScan tool" for these radios only and they are able to enable and disable features. Now the trick is to find out if the tool will actually do what we want it to do. I would hate to depend on the dealer and bribe someone (tech) to unlock some features or just bite the bullet and buy the lockpick. I would like to know if the lockpick will work on the 6 disc nav MyGig. I have not seen this radio in the lockpick lists Rob -
If you have the navigation, with the 6 disc radio, you have an REU radio and the RER is for the Regular MyGig I was on there last night in the resources area and the "for 2009 Journey only" radio PDF was not available :dunno: ah ha it is there now, go here http://www.dodge.com/en/owners/mygig/index.html look under "MyGig resources" and that is where the PDF's are enjoy the 200+ pages  the chrysler site will not have the proper radio PDF

Towing package bought, but lose wires in trunk??
Hit-By-Thunder replied to Steven's topic in Hauling & Towing
yup, I agree with keith. But I do believe the dealer would have installed the pigtail for the customer rather than just leaving it loose in the Journey -
I've been trying to find info as well and came up with nothing from the Kumho website. I do believe that the tire repairs (road hazard only) are on the warranty through Dodge but I do not know about full replacement (manufactures defects). I did read someplace that the dodge dealership will prorate the warranty for replacements if the tire is no good My 2 cents anywho Rob

now this is only meant to be funny and not an insult, "all in good fun" If you want the wife to watch a DVD while you are driving, this is a great way to get her outta that co-pilot seat and put her in the back and you don't have to listen to this,... actually, it's a great way to get her in the back seat, that way in 9 months, you can fill other seats in the Journey :baby: :baby: Take care Rob

There is the lockpick for doing all kinds of locked features. Go to You Tube and type in MyGig in the search menu. There is a guys who has a Caravan and showed how to do it but some of his comments say it doesn't work for them. Be worth a try if you have the same set up, Let us know if it works. The guy had a DVD playing while the vehicle was on. He pushed the Audio (I think) button when that screen came up, he put the vehicle in Drive and while in Drive he went back to the DVD and it was playing <_< Don't know if it will work for but let us know either way would be great Rob

What is everyone getting for MPG/fuel economy
Hit-By-Thunder replied to Steven's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
hey Steve, what did your sticker say as the "estimated" MPG? Sticker at the dealer on an R/T AWD says 22mpg city and 30mpg Hwy ( Remember that's CDN) -
hey Roxanne, I hear ya about the torture thing. I checked with my Dealer yesterday on some things and he handed me a "dealer report" and said he was 80% sure my vehicle is being built and has a VIN. He was going to photo copy it for me til I looked at it and said I hope this one is not mine as the Entertainment group 2 was not on the order. He looked further into my order and Mine has not been scheduled yet as the Entertainment group 2 is not online yet. So there is torture, having the dealer tell you the car is being built and then he says it not even slated . Ah well he is an incredible salesman. as for the question, I don't know what is wrong cause the dealership here has had about 7 of them so far. The last one was a black R/T with the pebble beach Yes interior, no sunroof  I check in everday cause I drive past the dealer on the way home from work. "I don't like it when I have to wait :waiting: ". This will be you when you hear it is in I am sure,....---> ,...

Anyone Know Details about this Motor and Trans in the R/T
Hit-By-Thunder replied to Steven's topic in Engine & Transmission
Hey Steve, check out www.allpar.com and look for the heading "engines" It will give you the history of the 3.5L I never looked into the 6 speed though -
yes, it is available online. Depending on which MyGig system you have. Do you have the Navigation?

Stev, I swear by full synthetic. It still breaks down the same but the friction is way less. I had a 2000 7.3 power stroke diesel supercab 4X4 yada yada yada. Now when it is 30 below 0 (Celcius) the truck with dino oil did start with some encouragement and the glowplugs were cycled 2 times before starting. It took about 7 minutes before I could feel a slight difference in heat coming through the defrost vents. Now with Delo 400 full synthetic the same truck, same cold morning, truck started with ease and it took 14 minutes to get the same amount of heat out of the vents. Oh and I was using the clock on the stereo for time so the minutes may be off a few seconds but at least you can tell the difference it made. I USE SYNTHETIC Rob

Anyone buy the extended warranty or service contract?
Hit-By-Thunder replied to Steven's topic in Lounge
hey Steve, we will be buying the extended warranty as long as we can get it. I think here it is 7 yrs and 160,000km's. If there is a problem Dodge can foot the bill. that's the way I see it anyhow -
Where to Buy Extra/Compliant IR Headphones for DVD Player
Hit-By-Thunder replied to Steven's topic in Lounge
Hey Steven, they are on e-bay The IR for journey are about 45ish. I think it is best to obtain a part # from Dodge and verify that is what you are getting IMHO Rob -
nice to hear some real testimonial from actual owners rather than car journalists. Thank you for the post John Rob/HBT

yes Snow_Runner I 've been looking at all the Pictures I have saved on my computer, the internet and as many reviews as I can find. All that have the chrome trim around the radio and ATC. The only trim around the radio is R/T I do believe. Also e-mailed the salesperson today (dealership is closed on Sunday) to go over this issue. I will let you know here what I find out. I am back to work tomorrow so wont be able to post til later Monday night. On the way home, I pass by the deaership so I will go in also to see what is happening. I want the ATC for sure but DO NOT want leather,....see what happens I may move to the R/T for the same money though as ChryslerLLC says the SXT has optional premium convenience group has Auto temp control. This is the reason for the huge problem with the order http:www.chryslerllc.com/en/news/article/?lid=new_dodge_journey_crossover hope the link works Rob

dito Roxanne No worries at all Roxanne. I have to laugh at the comment about playing it cool at the dealership. I was beside myself and trying to hold back on my excitement. I didn't want the salesperson to know I LOVE THIS CAR LET ME HAVE IT NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!!!!!!! With this being our very first brand new car and my wife having shoulder sergury on the 13th, I've been off since then and I go back to work tomorrow to try and get back some sanity. I wish the car was there and we could have brought it home that day. So now we have the experience of doing a factory order. Each day feels like a week while waiting for the car This will be me in May sometime,.....-------> and then it will be this with the wife when we get it to see who drives it,....-----> :slapfight: all is good though, still insane in Alberta Rob
-
that is funny, cause the wife is saying the same thing here but she is going insane from me!!!!. It kills me to be waiting and all I do is surf the net looking for added info. yup, I too am going insane cause no one wants to talk "Journey" with me. This is our first BRAND NEW car and holy hell I can't wait. The poor salesperson has no idea who he is dealing with hehehe signed Insane in Alberta lol!!!! Rob
-
hm very interesting, I sent an e-mail to my salesperson about 5 minutes ago, will let you know what he says..... I want the ATC but DO NOT want leather. Mentioned that there is a huge problem with the order...................
