  1. I haven't been able to find any information about the lumens for the OEM bulbs. They are #578's. I can say however, that the amount of light given off by the 4211x6 festoons seems very similar to the 578's.
  2. I too am surprised that Dodge didn't use LED's in the hatch light. I does seem quite odd that they forgot this. I bought 2 each of the 4211x6 festoons in warm white and cool white, as well as 2 0f the WLEDx5 wide angle LED's in cool white for the license plate lights. 4211 festoons are definitely the correct size to use. However, don't wast your money on the warm white festoons. They are practically the same color as the incandescents that come with the Journey. The cool whites are a close match to the other interior LED's. I can hardly notice the difference. I must echo Thunder. This is a truely great mod....an sooo easy. It's about a 5 minute operation to change both the hatch and license plate bulbs. WTG radon! Quick revision. I should have waited until dark to write the above. The cool whites are definitely a little bluer, but they are a closer match to the LED's that come with the Journey than the warm whites are. Like I said before, the warm whites look almost like the incandescents and are quite yellow. I my opinion, a little bluer looks much better than alot yellower. Plus a little bluer looks kind of cool. Also, the cool whites on the license plate...very cool.
  3. Yes it can be done. However... I had my dealer order me the fog light kit for $129.00. They dealer said it would be about $300 to install them. So I decided to tackle it and install them myself. One problem when I received the fog light kit was no switch was included. I went back to the dealer and showed him the kit. They said the kit should have come complete with the switch. So they ordered me the new switch at no charge to me. The switch happens to be on the steering column where the headlights and turn signals are. The installation took me about 2 to 2-1/2 hours. I had it all correctly installed or so I thought, but the fog lights would not turn on. I took it to the dealer, they ran the computer code to turn the fog lights on and they still didn't work. The dealer had to call Chrysler. The wiring diagram was incorrect. The dealer rewired it and did not charge me. They said they would get paid from Chrysler for it. Voila! Now I have fog lights, and factory at that. I would assume that Chrysler will correct the instructions soon as this will cost them money each time this happens. 4. Everyone with the 3rd row seat option should be aware of this! I had the same exact exact thing happen to mine less than a week after I bought it. The dealer ordered a new seatback and replaced it within a week at n/c. I think I know what caused it. I bet you have the third row seat option like I do. If you lay both the 2nd and 3rd row seats down, and then pull your 3rd row seats back up first before pulling up the 2nd row seats, the headrest on the 3rd row seat can catch on the corner of the 2nd row seatback, thus pulling up the corner of the seatback and probably breaking the cardboard in the corner ot the seatback. This can happen if your 2nd row seats are slid all the way back. You either have to make sure you pull-up the 2nd row seats before pulling up the 3rd row or slide the 2nd row seats forward a bit before pulling up the 3rd row seats. This is something dodge could easily fix. They need to redesign the seatback by tapering the two bottom corners of the seatback so that the bottom of the 2nd row seat sticks out farther than the seatback, even when the 3rd row headrest is being compressed against the bottom of the 2nd row seat.
  5. Does anyone know when the Sirius Backseat TV option will be available for the Journey? I have the Sirius radio with mygig along with the rear seat video group. I'm hoping there will be some kind of kit or module for it. Unfortunately, I told my kids about this feature thinking it was already available. So now, of course, I get asked about this all the time.
  6. I have a SXT FWD 3.5 engine using 87octane. Been on 2 road trips. 1st one IL to NC w/ 5 people and a loaded turtle shell on the luggage rack I averaged 23.7mpg. 70-75 mph most of the time. I did not use cruise! Cruise control will definitely take away some mileage, especially on hilly or mountainous roads. With cruise I probably would have been near 22mpg. 2nd road trip from IL to U.P. going through Chicago and Milwaukee I averaged 25.5mpg averaging 70mph (no turtle shell this time). I reset the mpg gauge at Green Bay. The 100+ mile leg from Green Bay to Iron Mountain I was able to get the gauge up to 27.8mpg averaging 50-55 mph and being light-footed on the gas peddle. I have also found the mpg gauge to be fairly accurate usually within 2/10 mpg. In town I will say I have averaged as low as 13.5mpg. That's with alot of idling and alot of stop and go. Normally average in town between 16-17 mpg. SXT FWD Deep Water Blue Pearl Coat Flexible Seating Group Convenience Group I Safe and Sound Group Rear Seat Video Group I Fog Lights
  7. Yes the same thing has happened to me 4 times in the 3 months that I have had my Journey. Every time while approaching the vehicle, and while getting ready to press the fob. The alarm will activate and the only way to shut it off is by taking the actual key out and unlocking the door manually, then starting the engine. The dealer doesn't know what to make of it. I think it might be a defective fob. I am going to switch the fob I regularly use with they one I have put away and see if that doesn't happen any more. If it doesn't do that again for 3 or 4 months I am going to have the dealer replace the defective fob. If it does happen again, I'm back square 1.
