Something is definitely not right. I can always get over 500 kms per tank, every tank. No way AWD vs FWD would make that much of a difference in gas mileage. You really should get a second opinion. By the way, in Canada, unless you are driving a 2011 R/T, all other 2011 models are FWD only.

Excellent! I'm going on a 2000 km round trip in a few weeks. Can 't wait to see how my Crew does!
-
Man, that is terrible. Maybe you should contact another dealer? I never got above 15L/100km when the vehicle was brand new. I'm just over 7000 kms and usually get between 11 and 13, depending on how much city driving I do. How many kms do you get from a tank of gas?

In addition to the Grand Caravan, there is also, of course, the original Journey OEM 16" rims that comes on the CVP model in Canada. I don't know if they are EXACTLY the same or not.
-
Not sure where you saw that. The Journey does not have rain sensing wipers. That "ball" you are talking about near the base of the windshield is the light sensor for the automatic headlights.

All I did was type "winter tires" in the search box and came up with a number of threads:
-
Maybe it is just me but I don't see it as much of a hardship to have to press the unlock button.
-
Please do a search on here. This has been discussed in detail in another thread.
-
It is a safety issue, I would guess. Every vehicle I have ever had has worked that way. Is it really that hard to push the button to unlock the doors? I have my Journey set to auto-unlock all doors when I open the driver door.

Thanks for the pics! Love the look of those mats! It looks to me like the driver's mat doesn't sit quite low enough near the door, more than likely due to the two retaining clips pushing it up slightly. I'm going to wait until proper mats with two retaining holes are made for the 2011 models.

Crew package have a hard drive?
drb227 replied to humansoul's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
Another typical, uninformed salesman. So frustrating! None of the 2011 Journeys have a hard drive. I have a 2011 Crew with the 8.4N system. The SD Card is only for playing music. Not photos or movies. You can put a DVD in the CD/DVD slot and the movie will play on the 8.4" screen only while you are parked, unless you buy the lockpick. Trying to watch a DVD playing on that screen from the second row seats would not be very much fun or easy, I wouldn't think. You certainly shouldn't be watching while driving either! Better to get a standalone DVD player that you can attach to the headrests of the front seats for second row passengers. By the way WELCOME!! This is the best forum for Dodge Journey owners. -
Unfortunately, I don't know all the details of the wheel specs but if you order the 16" oem steel rims from the dealer for the 2011 Journey, you can be guaranteed that you have the correct rim. You then can get your 225/70R16 tires at your tire shop of choice. You could also ask your tire shop to order the OEM steel rims, which is what my tire shop does in Toronto. I do know that non-oem steel rims will have clearance issues around the brake calipers, which is why my tire shop only uses OEM rims for the Journey.
-
The base Journey CVP model comes with this size tire on steel rims and given that I have used these winter tires already, I can assure you that this size is correct. Just make sure you get OEM rims to get the proper fit around the brake calipers.
-
If you could take pictures, that would be great. I see that the WeatherTech ones don't have the two retaining holes. The 09 and 10 Journey's had only 1 retaining clip but the 2011's have 2.
-
You're kidding right? Even with a tank of all city driving in my 2011 Crew, I can barely get it up to 14L over the whole tank.

The Canadian recall has been announced as well. I guess we have to wait and see if we get letters in the mail? http://www.autos.ca/general-news/chrysler-recall-affects-multiple-models

Don't worry, I am intelligent enough to know that I need to restart the vehicle before attempting to pull away and I don't wait until the light has turned green before I restart. It's common sense. A number of manufacturers are putting automatic start/stop technology into their vehicles in Europe already. It's only a matter of time before that tech makes it's way over here. I'm just doing manually what will be an automatic feature in vehicles here in a few years. Can't be that bad of an idea if the auto manufacturers have already started to implement it.

Just read that Chrysler is recalling a number of different 2011 vehicles to check a possible problem with the steering column: http://ca.autoblog.com/2011/06/16/chrysler-recalling-11-000-new-vehicles-over-steering-concern/ Let's hope Chrysler Canada does the same thing soon!

Which dealer? I went to Paul Willison in Scarborough only because that's where we bought it through the fleet manager. I used to use Downsview quite a bit and will use them for my next attempt to get this fixed.

Lockpick for uconnect touch
drb227 replied to moondwagon's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
Nice! Really easy removal of the necessary parts. -
All I can do is try again at a different dealer at my next oil change. This time, I'm going to show the service adviser the problem myself.
-
Welcome to another fellow canuck! Good choice on not wasting your money on the fake chrome wheels. If you get the opportunity, I'd be curious to know if you can check out and report on the issues in this thread that I started a while back: Would like to know if any of the issues I mentioned have been fixed, in particular, the voice commands for controlling music playback on SD Card or USB. This like "Play the song ..." or "Play the artist ..."

memory to fob
drb227 replied to fourfifths's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
The Journey's do not have driver's memory seats in Canada or the U.S. -
Sigh. My dealer said my Journey already had the update. He said they tried and it does stay at kph. I said I'm pretty sure it doesn't. He said, sorry, there is no update available. So, I tried it again after I left the dealer to be sure I wasn't losing my mind. I turned it off and opened the driver's door, which kills the interior accessory power, then restarted and sure enough, it is back to Mph. ARGH. Next oil change, I'm going to a different dealer and am going to insist they install the right damn update.
