Time to visit the dealership!
-
Yes, you can move in and out of manual shift mode whenever you want. You tap right to upshift and left to downshift.
-
That is at least some good news! Your wife must drive in pretty heavy stop and go traffic and for short distances for the gas mileage to be as high as it is. Stop and go traffic and short distances will most definitely kill the gas mileage. Also, you need to be very easy on the gas pedal in those situations to get the best gas mileage possible. I'm learning to do that with my Journey and it does help.

As I said above. I have it in my Crew. It came as part of the Navigation and Sound Group I.
-
Doubtful. The AWD adds just a little over 300 lbs of weight. Not an insubstantial amount but not enough to make a dramatic difference in fuel mileage.
-
Mine is FWD. My latest fillup today, the EVIC shows 10.8. Fuelly shows 10.9. I did much more highway driving on this tank, approx. 70%. It seems the EVIC is more accurate when you do less stop and go driving? What you should try is, fill up, reset the EVIC and then go on the highway for maybe 30 minutes or so. See what the EVIC reports then.

Lockpick for uconnect touch
drb227 replied to moondwagon's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
Would greatly appreciate if you could take pictures while doing the install! I'm very interested in this. -
Wow, that is a lot of mileage for one trip!! For the cruise control, I think it is more a function of the transmission being reluctant to downshift unless you really push the pedal far. What I do is switch to manual shift mode when coming to any long uphill climbs and dropping to 5th gear myself. That helps the cruise maintain the set speed. Chrysler really needs to change the transmission programming to allow quicker downshifts.

UConnect 8.4n problems
drb227 replied to Dukeeluv's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
Have you tried controlling music playback by using commands like "Play the artist" or "Play the song"? That is the part that isn't working for anybody, as far as I know. -
It is actually on the left side at the back.
-
I checked and the flashlight did come as part of the Navigation and Sound Group I on my Crew.
-
No, the seven seats is an option. Not standard on any Journey model in Canada. You need the Flexible Seating Group to get the 7 seats and the rear heat/ac.
-
You do realize that the post you are referring to was written two months ago? i have had my Journey since March 1st, it is now May 20th as I type this post.
-
The heat and ac buttons for the back come standard with the Flexible Seating Group (7 seater). Yeah, the Crew has been off the dodge.ca website for quite a while now. My guess is due to parts shortages from the Japan quake. You used to be able to order the 8.4" screen as an option on the SXT model. That particular option is no longer available if you configure an SXT model. The 8.4" is standard on the Crew. My guess is that, due to shortages on the 8.4" screen, they are currently keeping inventory for the R/T model. I'm sure things will go back to normal in a few months when the 8.4" screen's availability gets back to normal.

I replied to you in another thread but will repeat here. The booster seats are a standalone $200 option. Not sure if you can have them installed after the fact. My crew has the flashlight and I think it is a standard feature on the Crew model.
-
Welcome! I picked up my White 2011 Crew on March 1st from Paul Willison Chrysler in Scarborough. I have the Flexible Seating Group and the Navigation and Sound Group I. The booster seats are a standalone option at $200. Not sure you can add them after the fact. Will have to check my window sticker when I get home but I think the flashlight comes standard on the Crew model. Will update this post later today with the correct info on this.

Difficult to say what the problem may be. I would try taking it out on the highway and resetting the fuel econ display, then drive it for 20 or 30 kms at highway speed, trying to keep it around 100-110 kph or so. Your EVIC should show the gas mileage well below 15L/100kms at the end of it. If I do that with my Journey, I get between 9 and 10L/100kms for the test. Needs to be on a relatively flat highway. If you get a much higher number, then something is obviously wrong. Maybe the EVIC is way off? You should try using www.fuelly.com to track a few tankfuls of gas to see what numbers you get there as a comparison to what your EVIC says.
-
Is that the Weathertech floor mats that you have in your Journey? Are these specifically for the 2011 Journey?
-
My 2011 Crew has a very rough upshift from 2nd to 3rd and downshift from 4th to 3rd. It is also very reluctant to downshift unless you really put your foot into it. I am going to have my dealer look into this at my first oil change at 5000kms. I am currently around 4400kms, so I expect to take it in for the oil change in the next few weeks.
-
If it was me, I'd have to go to the dealership to find out what the hell is wrong with my brand new vehicle!! You have impressive patience!
-
Just did another fill up. EVIC said 11.8, Fuelly.com says 12.8. So it was off 1L this time. Has been off 0.6L the previous 2 fill-ups. Was nice to see the DTE display show 616kms right after the fill-up! Fuel economy definitely getting better as the engine gets broken in.
-
WOW!!! You wife must really have a lead foot to get that kind of mileage. Most of my driving is city and I got 15.4L/100kms on my first tank. Now I have just over 4000kms and I am at 12.0 on the current tank. Still mostly city driving, probably 80%. I do make a conscious effort to take it easy on the gas pedal to help my gas mileage solely because gas is so frickin expensive these days. I do have to occasionally have a bit of fun with it though, as it is too hard to resist the call of those 283 hp! I think I'd have to driving pretty hard all the time to get my gas mileage up to 21L.

Alpine vs Boston Acoustics
drb227 replied to deulyd's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
Yup, the Apline system's weakness is definitely the bass and it is not as "full" sounding overall as what I had in my Caliber. -
Yes, in my case, the EVIC is off by 0.6L/100km, which isn't bad. So far, for the tank I'm on now, I'm getting 11.7, according to the EVIC, which is more like 12.3L/100km. The vast majority of my driving is not on the highway.
