  1. I noticed the same thing with my 2011 Crew. I installed my winter tires last weekend. On the first drive after putting on the winter tires, I got the warning to service the TPMS. Since then, no warnings or beeps have happened and the TPMS section just shows N/A. This is different behaviour than last winter (March 2011). When I had my winter tires on last winter, I'd get the warning light and beep at each startup. I quickly learned to ignore it. I can only guess that this change in behaviour is due to one of the software updates I had applied to my car at my first major service over the summer. Even though the beep and warning light at start up didn't really bother me last winter, I do like this change better!
  2. It mostly definitely was on the Canadian website. That is how I found out about the Crew model in the first place. It was removed after the Japan quake but it was definitely on the website early in the year.
  3. I noticed that too about the cross bars now coming standard on the 2012's. Yet one more way we 2011 owners got the shaft. By the way, the Crew was an actual model for 2011 as well. I have one.
  4. DodgeCares, Did ANY of the 4 radios available for the 2011 Journey include the VR system for controlling music playback? If any of them should have had it, it is the top RB5 (8.4N) system, which I have. If none of the radios had the ability to control music playback by voice, then why the heck was this info in the manual at all?? The VR for controlling the phone and changing input sources, radio/sirius stations, etc, works well. I don't get why the music playback functionality aspect of the VR system was left out. I'm still pissed about this missing functionality and the fact that 2012 owners have actual VR control of the nav system. Chrysler really screwed this up big time and it appears we 2011 owners are simply SOL.
  5. I've compared the speed displayed on the 8.4N nav to my speedo and it is usually out by 1 kph but not more than that. Speedos will never be 100% accurate, unless they are certified like on a police car. I would trust the speed display on the nav screen.
  6. Can you confirm that with Chrysler? I was talking to a sales rep yesterday and he said that Chrysler wasn't going to ship any 2012 Journeys with the 8.4" screen. Just curious.
  7. To me, 19" winter tires are a waste of money. As discussed in other threads, I went with 16" winter tires and steel wheels from Simply Tire. I got the Gislaved Nordfrost 5 tires and have found them to be excellent. I paid under $1000 for the wheels, tires, balance, install and taxes. That tire you show on the Kaltire website appears to be a Chinese tire. If the quality is anything like the Kumhos, I'd personally stay away from them.
  8. The Crew model is not new to Canada for 2012. My 2011 is a Crew. For 2011, the original model lineup was CVP, SE Plus, SXT, Crew and R/T. After the Japan quake happened, they removed the Crew model from the website but I and several others here are 2011 Crew owners. So glad I got mine with the 8.4" screen!
  9. My radio was changing to phone mode each time the phone connected, but TSB 08-23-11 fixed that. DodgeCares provided this info initially, my dealer knew nothing about it.
  10. My 2011 8.4N radio does that. I don't think it did that when I first got the Journey. Must be one of the updates that were installed that changed that behaviour.
  11. Armendegga, yes RRT 11-069 was performed at my first service.
  12. bramfrank, I've never had a problem with any slow downs of any type while using my 8.4 system to play any type of music, regardless of if it was on CD, SD Card or via USB.
  13. DodgeCares, would you be able to share any TSBs relating to the transmission in the 2011 Journeys?
  14. DodgeCares, can you please relay this situation to whomever you can at Chrysler, who may be able to do something about this situation? Chrysler needs to make this right for those of us who have the voice command system in our 2011 Journeys. If there is an email address that we can contact directly, I would be happy to send a detailed email myself.
  15. When you get the vehicle back, can you tell us what upgrades are listed on your work order? If you could give us the codes or even scan the work order and upload it here, that would be most helpful.
  16. Mine does the same thing. I think it is just the nature of these transmissions. They are not very smooth overall.
  17. Then why the heck did Chrysler put all those voice commands in the 2011 manual? This is extremely frustrating to have a half baked system that is not able to be controlled all that much by voice. Somebody at Chrysler should be severely whipped for letting this get to the owner's manual when the functionality is not there! Aside from the Bluetooth phone functionality, the voice controls do very little else. The key features that should have voice control - navigation and music playback - do not. I'm not angry with you Chris, I'm just venting my frustration at functionality that should have been there from the start. It is all the more frustrating to know that 2012+ owners will likely have all this functionality. I'm more than a little peeved about this.
  18. Well, this is truly disappointing. The navigation system is not fully usable when the vehicle is in motion and those voice commands would have been a huge bonus and frankly, should have been there all along. Can you ask your radio expert when an update will be out that allows voice commands to control music playback? Things like "Play the song", "Play the Artist", etc, do not work, despite these commands being in the manual for the 2011 models. I have spoken to a Lisa from Chrysler in the past a few times, she initially called me to take a survey about my issues/concerns with the Uconnect Touch system. I told her of all the issues that I had and she did get back to me advising that an update had been developed that should resolve most of the issues I had. She initially thought that that update was going to be released to dealers in August, but we are now almost through September and no sign of this update. I refer you to this thread I started: If you can shed any light on this update, that would be most appreciated.
  19. I applied this update when it first came out. All it did was add the ability to see your playlists on your iDevice.
  20. As of right now, the voice command in the 2011 Journey does not work for controlling music playback. According to a Chrysler rep I have talked to a few times, an update is in the works to fix this but no idea when it will be released. If you can get the 8.4, go for it. It is really sweet!
  21. Welcome from a fellow Canadian white Crew owner!!
  22. I was reading through the 2012 Dodge Journey manual today, to see what, if any, differences there were in features/functions. The Uconnect Voice Command Navigation Universal Commands page now has way more voice commands than the 2011 manual. For the 2011 Journey, the only valid voice command for Nav is "Repeat Guidance". The 2012 manual lists the following voice commands for the 8.4N radio: - View Map - Where Am I - Detour - Cancel Route - Repeat Guidance - Find Address - Find Nearest Restaurant On the next page, it says: NOTE: 1. You can also say “Find City”, “Find Favorite”, “Find Play by Category”, “Find Play by Name”, “Find Recently Found”, “Where to?” or “Go Home”. 2. You can say “Find Nearest” then “Restaurant”, “Fuel”, “Transit”, “Lodging”, “Shopping”, “Bank”, “Entertain- ment”, “Recreation”, “Attractions”, “Community”, “Auto Services”, “Hospitals”, “Parking”, “Airport”, “Po- lice Stations”, “Fire Stations”, or “Auto Dealers”. DodgeCares, will an update be forthcoming to give this functionality to us 2011 owners? I sure hope so!
