  1. It's interesting that this also includes the VC/BT option. I'm guessing this one is programmed to allow BT access to the phone. You'd still need the buttons on the steering wheel though.
  2. Sure, I'll add a pic of what it looks like, it looks basically the same as some of the other pics floating around in here
  3. Finally got the mopar hitch installed over the last few days... All in all, probably took me about 4-5 hours or so spread out of 2 days to get completed... There were a few things I encountered that weren't in my friendly instruction booklet... Overall, I'm pretty happy with the job, and I saved myself $200 in labor by doing it myself. (I found the hitch for $125 +$75 shipping to Canada on eBay).. COnsidering Dodge up here wants $275 for the hitch, and another $200 for the installation, I'm pretty happy with the $200 I paid. A few notes that I found that weren't really included in the instruction booklet, or general observations I noticed: - When removing the fascia, it the booklet mentions that there are only 6 rivets. Mine had 8. (2 in the wheel well on each side, and 2 on the back bumper on each side). The hitch only comes with 6... You will need a minimum of 2 more. I purchased a plastic rivet tool that came with 40 rivets for about $25 at Princess Auto... Worked well. - When removing the fascia, there are clips in between the wheel well and the back, about 4 if I recall correctly, I had to use a screw driver to pry them up so I could remove the bumper. - Prying off those rubber exhaust hangers are pretty damn annoying... What is even more annoying is reconnecting them after the hitch is installed as your room to work with got decreased... Many curse words were said with this process. - As for the actual install of the hitch, it is pretty straight forward. One thing I would suggest - DO NOT TIGHTEN the bolts until you have them all installed ready to be tightened. After the first couple I put in and tightened, I realized that I had to install them in a certain order to make sure that I had access to each of them, and I realized that I didn't have enough room to put in the others so I had to undo a few of them and get them all ready to be tightened. - There isn't a heck of a lot of room, expect to use a socket wrench as well as a crescent wrench for tightening the bolts, don't expect to be able to make very big turns at once... It's a bit of a slow process.... If you have a ratcheting crescent wrench - that would probably work best. - Remember to hook up the wiring harness prior to securing the metal bumper. There are a few clips that secure to the underside of the metal bumper, and if you don't connect those prior to installing the bumper, the hitch prevents you from being able to secure them, and you'll have to undo the bumper to do it. - When installing the metal bumper back onto the frame, have a magnet ready incase the nut falls off and tries to fall somewhere where you can't really get at it. - One thing I was worried about was the actual cutting of the bumper - I used an exacto knife. The paper template that you get gives you the outline to trace. It says that you need to trace starting 14" from the inboard edge of the passenger muffler cutout... There is about an inch or so of leeway if you don't do it exactly 14" apart. The plastic tubing that will go over where the bumper was cut out will hide any minor blemishes, it will not cover any boo boo's that you make that extend an inch away from where you cut. Overall, this process was easier than I thought it would be. - The hitch does not come with the 4 pin bracket that connects to the hitch receiver that your 4 pin connector sits into. The part number for this is: 68026722AA... It's about $7 or something from the dealership. Some sizes that I can think of off the top of my head: Screw that is in the wheel well holding the fascia on - 7mm Metal Bumper nuts - 13mm Nuts that come with the hitch for installing - 16mm Bolts that come with the hitch for installing - 18mm If you have any questions, please feel free to ask, and I'll answer the best I can. Overall - for any of you that are wondering about how difficult this will be, I didn't find it too bad at all. I'm glad I decided to do it myself. I didn't need any assistance from anyone else, so it is definitely possible to do it completely solo. Expect a few curse words when dealing with the muffler hangers, and when your wrench slips off a bolt and you smash your hand into undesirable places:) Have fun! Important Note!!! You will need to take the Journey to the dealership to have the plug enabled. It requires some kind of flash update. Note 2: The hitch (nor the wiring harness) does not come with the little bracket that fits on the hitch receiver that holds the 4 pin adaptor. I was able to find the part number. It is 68026722AA. It costs about $5 or so from Dodge. This holds the 4 pin connector so it doesn't just hang loose.
  4. @brwengel - I think there are many of us that would love that link if you could find and post it when you return home!
  5. The lockpick is available here for $209. http://www.coastaletech.com/LOCKPICKC8R.htm There is no update to change the 8.4 into an 8.4N as it doens't have the navigation equipment or maps.
  6. 16s will fit, however they need to be OEM to clear the rotors. Journey and Grand Caravan rims are the same.
  7. I have seen many posts about 235s fitting with some clearance to spare, but son recall seeing 245s
  8. Hey drb227, according to the sticker on the inside of the driver side door, my Journey was built January as well. When I go in there Friday I'll try to get the bulletin # and post back if they fixed it or not.
  9. Interesting. It's going in Friday for an oil change and for them to update the EVIC, and I also let them know about this issue as well, so we'll see what they say. I really don't understand how they can expect the consumer to pay for this because it has nothing to do with the consumer.... It's all equipment that came with the Journey, and as a result of their issue, not mine... I'll post back with what happens.
  10. I think I am going to be looking for a retailer that offers the OEM rims... I spoke with the dealership today about the cost of the 16" rims, I was quoted $125 each for the steel rims.... Which is on sale from the regular price of $160
  11. So I got a call from my dealer today to schedule for an oil change, and they also indicated there is a bulletin for an issue with the instrument cluster. I asked if this was relating to the EVIC or the speed defaulting to kph, but she didn't know. My appointment is for Friday so I'll post back if it gets fixed.
  12. so I pretty much have finished installing the hitch on my Journey. It's taken a few hours and many swear words lol One thing I have found is I can't seem to get power at the trailer plug on the vehicle side. I've used mulimeters, plug testers and all are negative. I have the trailer tow prep package so I plugged the harness into the plug and assumed I would be good. Is there a fuse somewhere? In looking at the owners manual it indicated there is...F127 I believe under interior fuses, however I can't seem to find an interior fuse box anywhere. In looking at the fuse box under the hood, there is no F127, and no mention of a trailer fuse. Anyone come across this?
  13. Yep, that's correct - They doors unlock when the driver (or front passenger) pull their door handle. I was saying No to the post above where Derekmclain9 was asking if the doors unlock when shifting into Park.
  14. Yeah I see what you mean looking up above. The 2011's have the 3.6L. From everything I have seen for the Journey, there isn't a change in HP with AWD vs Non-AWD even though the article above seems to indicate so.
  15. I believe drb227 mentioned that newer model Grand Caravan 16's will fit on the Journey... The bolt pattern is 5x127.
  16. Awesome - Thanks Terry! I guessed it would be around 3500 lbs. If the hitch itself has a rating on it, let us know Thanks for your help!
  17. By your name, I would guess that you're talking about Jacksonville, NC... I was there a couple years ago for about a month.
  18. If I were to guess DavidL, I would assume it would be later than that to get one with the 8.4" screen.... I would assume that R/T's will still be available (as they are the only trim level with AWD in Canada), but they will probably initially only come with the 4.3" screen.
  19. I believe the only other option I can think of is to disable the auto locking of the doors?
  20. I only tried setting it up for NHL, but of course Sirius doesn't even carry NHL in Canada
  21. It's unfortunately not available on any trim level on the 2011 Journeys.
  22. Yeah I tried to see the pictures as well, but it wasn't detailed enough for me to read what the stamp said. The L converter is mainly just for using for a bike hitch, or a small utility trailer. I believe Terry (WIndDancer) has this set up, so if he sees this post, he should be able to confirm for us
  23. Hey All, I know there are a few of you that have the Mopar hitch receiver and hitch set up... What is the vertical hitch rated for? I've looked around everywhere it seems and haven't been able to find a rating. From what I could tell, the vertical to horizontal adapter (82208643) is only rated at 1000 lbs. I am hoping that the vertical hitch itself is rated at what the receiver is rated for (3500lbs)... If any of you could take a look at the stamp on it, and let me know what the max weight, and max tongue weight is, that would be great! I'll be installing the Mopar receiver this week, but was curious about what the actual hitch is rated at since I don't have it yet.
  24. All the new V6 Pentastar's are flex fuel capable... Including the Journey... Except for the AWD for some reason...
