  1. have no idea on the cost but usually your warranty stays in affect even to the next owners ( not sure about that in other countries)and if it applies you should be covered ,contact a dealership to be sure you might still be covered.... also the org warranty for 2014 i think it i was a 5 yr 60 k power-train warranty so you might be covered there if within the 5 yr part,..good luck and keep us posted
  2. actually my 2014 about 1-2 yrs came up with a warring light and it was the oil sender went bad oil pressure was pegged as high as it would go dealership said they were seeing quite a few journeys with that problem and he figured the part suppler had sent a bad batch of units to the factory and that there really wasn't a problem that i had regular oil pressure but that the oil sender had shorted out inside itself and showing high pressure. check your readings in the evic center to see what the oil pressure is should be around 40 psi when warm and at reg driving speed.
  3. i remember about 15-yrs ago i was changing the oil on my truck and after i was all done i started it up and let it run for a few minutes then shut it off and let it settle for a few minutes and was checking the oil level everything was okay, i look underneath the truck for drips and oil was coming out of the side of the filter i thought wtf so i slid my clean oil pan under and shimmed back under the truck with my filter wrench and yes it was tight i though wth, so thought about it for a minute then decided to look at my old spin on filter and the oil gasket wasn't still attached to the filter, so i removed the new one and looked at the bottom of the oil pump surface, and there it was the old gasket stuck to the metal peeled it off re-wet the new gasket on the filter which i didnt really have to do as oil was everywhere by then LOL and re tightened everything and low and behold no leaks.... first time in all my years of changing oil that the gasket came off the old filter like that. so strange stuff like can happen so it pays to double check everything twice and to keep an eye on all their fluids under the hood, i still check my oil every week at least once.
  4. glad you found out the problem, when you changed the oil did your replace the old o ring on the cap with the new one supplied, i am assuming you did since you said you are using the old one now. the one thing you wrote that is odd to me is you were saying about the oil filter in backwards with the new ones cant be put in backwards as the little nose tripod wont fit in backwards unless you are using the old filters that didnt have that part built on to the filter.of course you see ever thing on the inter web, Anyways glad you caught it before any damage was done and i am sure you will be okay as you found the cause of the leak. i also change my own oil and i only hand tighten the cap as tight as i can get it by hand only, with o rings you NEVER want to tighten them to tight as it will stretch the ring and or cut them and cause a leak......i always after i change my oil and filter when i am thur i let the engine run for about 3-5 minutes then stop it let it cool look for leaks and then recheck the oil level and then for the next few days i keep a check for leaks ,you never know the crazy things that can happen after you or someone else working on your cars.....
  5. i have some fogging of the windows but nothing serious when it is really cold thank goodness i live in the south to be honest, i dont think i would like the journey in real cold northern states as the heater is not as good as it should be.
  6. well dam i was just trying to help as in the us we dont have the engine that you have.you could have googled the info you are looking for quicker than coming on here and getting an attitude with someone trying to give you a better and quicker option for the info you are requesting.
  7. two fold problem here yes you had state farm dispatch a tow truck to tow you in, you also probably be suing the tow truck service as it was their fault for using the WRONG towing procedure .
  8. what he is saying we dont have the diesel version so we are unfamiliar where the senor would be located, why not google your engine and the sensor location?
  9. check with your local dodge dealership as i believe there is a TSB on this where you live.
  10. check out the you tube video on dodge journey heater core replacement shortcut
  11. yep it is common for journeys one of their weak spots sometimes they will rupture the power steering hose as well, look thur the forum guide as it has been discussed a lot good luck
  12. might try to disconnect your battery for a few minutes and then reattach the cables. kind of like rebooting a computer. good luck
  13. why not ask them, it could be the transfer unit, has it ever been serviced?could be the rear axles. best advice is to take it to your local dealership and have it checked as it could be related to the transmission work or compleatly unrelated due to it. good luck and keep us informed...just wondering how much is a new transmission and or do they use a rebuilt trans.

    Welcome

welcome to the group show us a pic of your journey with the country side also.
  15. i just hand tighten and then bump the ratchet just a bit, sounds like you might be over tightening it and or their is a slight crack at the threads and that is where it is leaking past the o ring. also i always just use mopar oil filters..why use anything different????
  16. sounds like a loose connection somewhere, if you have warranty take it in, if not start wigging wires. good luck
  17. have no idea as i had mine changed at the dealership when i hit around 60 k early i know but hey cheaper than replacing a bad trans.
  18. best info would probally come from a local transmission shop, as info off internet might lead you wrong? most of transmissions here require the fluid be checked with a special machine with the engine running at a certain temp and other factors from what i read. also not sure if you have a trans dip stick or not over here most newer journeys dont have a dip stick (which i hate) good luck and keep us informed what you find out. i am sure you will get more answers here...
  19. why not ask your local dealership for the correct answer
  20. just make sure what ever fluid you use that it is approved by mopar, the have specs listed on the bottles... check your manual for the correct type of fluid or better yet go your local dealership and ask them which type of fluid to use for your journey dont cheap and or take the wrong advice....also be aware of this trans needs to be at a certain temperature and a lot of other variables to fill it to the correct level from what iv read and heard ,its not like the old drain fill and check with a dip stick method, hope you dont screw it up could cost you big $$$$$ trying to save a few $$. good luck
  21. probably cant replace the camera since it is molded into the trim piece,of course i havent tried to
