2011 Journey Wiper problems
2late4u replied to speedair01's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
no problems with either of both my 2011 70 k or the replacement 2014 84 k, sounds like it might be a motor problem since it doesn't want to work when cold but warms up a bit then works or could be bushings in the motor, about the only thing i could think it could be.. good luck P.S. the fluid works off a different pump or motor -
Lowering kits 2018 DJ! Help please
2late4u replied to milehighgoot's topic in Accessories, Modifications
why not leave a note with your ph # and ask him where he got his kit.iv heard of a few that have lowered theirs, think most of them said they had to modify the kits to fit their journeys, also you might after doing it and have problems with your suspension and or all wheel drive the dealership might tell you that you voided the warranty due to the mod... up to you good luck -
one thing i do is i keep a record of everything i have done or do myself with the date and mileage when its done i even write down when i change the windshield wiper Blades it is on a long piece of cardboard about 2 inches wide and i keep it in my car manual. so any one looking at it can tell when everything has been done.nothing fancy just simple remarks on what has been done.

to be honest as easy as it is to change the oil and filters in our journeys id rather do it myself as most quick change places and some dealerships seem to screw it up so bad. putting in the wrong filters, over tighting and cracking the oil cooler unit, not changing out the o rings or forgetting to put the new one back in and using the wrong oil, since it only is done once or twice a yr ill so it my self and KNOW its done right...but $ 40 for a full sny. oil change isn't bad with a tire rotation also, but i still can do it cheaper and then drive it down to the tire store for the free lifetime wheel balance and rotation that i get there.....but i do live in the land of sun and fun in Ala, wearing shorts and flip flops with my jacket on today....LOL i am a damm Yankee if you all know what that means?????

so why not use the mopar oil filter i buy them from my local dealership and get them for about the same price of a K-N off amazon or having to buy 6 or 8 of them off eBay and by using the mopar filter they cant argue well it was the filter the caused the problem......

IF you have read your manual that is in the glove box turn to the section for oil changes and it will tell you to ONLY use ms-6395 approved oil......so use any syn oil you want but look for thoes specs....welcome to the group and have a safe New Year with your journey all the jugs of Mobil 1 that iv looked at does NOT have ms-6395 approved on it any where......it is great oil and if you want to use it i dont believe you would have any problem. It is up to you..

2012 Journey Crew upper rear control arms
2late4u replied to Bob D's topic in Brake, Chassis & Suspension
i just had this problem with the upper rear control arm. the factory ones are NON adjustable i went with some aftermarket adjustable ones from precision manufacture, had them installed and they make the camber come back into specs. only 2 bolts hold them in looks fairly easy to do, but i let the alignment shop do it as it was bad weather when i found out the problem was. with the camber out you will wear the tires on the inside or outside of your rear tires and or cause cupping. so far no more problems with them there are different brands of these mine actually comes with grease fittings in them most of the other ones dont. -
my dodge truck would sometimes make a grinding noise if i was stopped and barley let off the brake pedal just enough to creep forward and they would make that grinding noise and would drive my wife crazy telling me to stop doing that....i loved it hmm wonder if thats why iv been married three times, oh well i digress. any ways i pulled my wheels and checked the pads and rotors never found nothing wrong so wasn't worried about them of the noise....loved making that noises.

must be an issue as it happened to him once

Knocking sound from rocking steering wheel left to right
2late4u replied to SylvainB's topic in Engine & Transmission
CV joints DONT make a noise when still still only when making a turn.if your noise is when you are sitting still but turning the wheel then it is something else. you mention tie rods 2 yrs old but what about the inner tie rods and a lot of other parts could be making the noise, any garage or tire shop would be able to pin point the problem for free hoping you let them do the work, take it to 2 -3 places and see what you find out.could even be slop in the steering gear since you didnt state yr of your journey and mileage on it....i actually had a truck making a noise similar like that after i was hit head on, and what it was that dodge had used huge rivets to hold the frame together and during the crash that one of the front ones loosened up enough to let the frame flex when under pressure from turning the wheels, they drilled it out and put in a large bolt never had no more problems from that.... -
i only wash mine when it gets real bad, most of the time every few days i give it a quick wipe down with the micro towels and car detail spray between washes and wax ( which it is over do) of course i live in al so we have mostly great weather...

crap happens, every once in a while i have that ,then be okay for a long time, now every so often when putting the car in rev screen will go black no video, next time i do try it it works, oh well crap happens....i have a max warranty but with a 100 ded so not worth it to have them check it out will just wait till something bad happens and it has to go into the shop then ill have it checked and also i checked the wires at the hatch back grommet didnt see no problem there... -
Aiming headlights on 2010 Journey
2late4u replied to Bob Stratton's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
i actually found that quote in the forum listed under glass and lighting. that said i went and looked last night at my 2014 and could not see anything that might adjust the lights except there was a Phillips head screw in a bigger nut around the middle of the light about 5 inches down from the top.. just go by your local dealership they should be able to point out the adj points to you . good luck -
not with mine

Aiming headlights on 2010 Journey
2late4u replied to Bob Stratton's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
found this in the forum ......Turned out to be easier than I was hoping. The passenger light was still factory aimed, so it was a good reference point. When I parked it in my driveway, it lined up perfectly with a panel on the garage door. There is a 12mm bolt head on the back side of each headlight assembly. A 1/4" drive socket fits in perfectly.
