the advise i gave about replacing the belt tensioner was given to my father yrs ago by a dodge dealership he had had a new alt put on so he also had them do the belt they didnt advise to replace the tensioner and while he was on a trip about a week later, out of town the belt came off and he had it towed into the local dodge dealership and they asked him didnt they tell you to replace the tensioner when doing the other work and said no why? the manger explained that when you take the belt off the tensioner a lot of times they go bad and or dont go back to full pressure that they are supposed to be . anyways they fixed my dads van gave him a new belt and all he had to pay was for the new tensioner they, didnt even charged him labor just the price of the belt as they said it should have been suggested to him the first time........do want you want and hopefully you wont have any problems..... good luck.

what ever

of course it has a serpentine belt they all do but you all were talking timing belts you also need to change out the belt tensioner as well as a lot of time the lose the correct tension after the belt being removed and then reinstalled, it happened to my dads van good luck on the repair and make a video for you tube and be a star.

didnt know the 3.6 had a timing belt thought it was a chain and certainly not at 100 k

yes if you went to a dodge dealership their would be a fee.but most regular garage would probally look it over for free if its a local garage. that said you didnt mention mileage as i have a 2014 myself with 83 k on it with no problems yet from the motor mounts. so are you having any problems as you didnt mention anything of that sort ? have someone sit in the journey with the hood up and you watching the engine from the side of it and have them put it in drive and slightly give it gas with their foot firmly pushing on the brake pedal if the the engines raises up some of the mounts might be broken, when shifting into reveres does it buck or makes noise it could be motor mounts a reg mechanic could check this sort of stuff out for cheap or just go buy all the mounts and have your local mechanic change them out for you that way you would have your piece of mind this should cost less than $500 or close to it... good luck
-
rock auto online has your mounts with pictures of them and prices, depends on weather fwd and awd...good luck also dealership or any competent auto repair shop should be able to point them out for you in general.....fyi i would replace with mopar parts just to make sure you get the correct ones and get good quality ones. also there is a mopar sites online with good discounts. good luck

well got the journey back and they said everything is set 100 % correct .before the camber on one of the rear side was out 2 degrees and the other one was out 1.5 degree. ended up costing me $300 total $86. for each adjustable lateral link and the rest labor and tax i was able to talk them down about $50 off what they org wanted. they were saying about 2.5 hr labor according to their book so that means about 1 hr maybe...LOL oh well, got to keep the economy going i guess. i am really impressed with this Quick lane dealer and they sure stay busy they even gave me a ride home and then came back and picked me up when the car was ready, and i live about 15-20 miles from the store...

journeys have a reputation for a loud power steering noise more than most car manufacturers do. and in real cold areas for the power steering lines to leak or blow out, i have a 2014 and it has always been a little noisy at first starting up even during the summer during the winter ill get a chirp when first starting it during the winter. but since you still have warranty use it and get it on record in case of later problems.. good luck

well good luck anyways, since both sets of tires are causing the same conditions i would think that inst your problem but if the same garage did the balance maybe?i remember someone on here was having problems with their tires being balanced i think it was at cosco and they were using the wrong adapter that thee tire was setting on while being balanced.keep us informed on what you find -

i would have the alignment checked and while on the rack see if the frame has been damaged from a wreck, and not fixed properly.also could be bad struts/shocks on the rear, was driving down the road last week and a older car passed us and both of his rear wheels were bouncing up and down really bad. bad tires with broken belts could be a cause, also bent rims but since you have 2 different sets kind of rules that out. if all else fails get it into a suspension shop they should be able to figure it out.... front wheel drive or all wheel drive?if awd could have drive shaft problems. good luck -
got to reading in the manual it reads that the tongue weight should not weigh more than 200 lbs with 2 people and their luggage and other weight inside the car. so i am within the tongue weight according to the class 3 hitch , i am about 35 lbs over the journeys stated tongue weight. not much over but that might be the problem i am having or driving over bad roads which i really havent been doing almost always interstate driving... also if you are carrying 3-5 people with luggage you drop down to a 100 lb tongue weight....

yes the scooter weighs 164 lbs and the carrier weighs 70 lbs for a total of 235 lbs. on the hitch which is a class 3 curt hitch with a 400 lbs. tongue weight , the dealer had aligned my journey about 6 months ago but didnt mention anything about the rear camber , have a feeling they just got it as close as they could since dodge doesn't offer a solution to the camber problems other than the org lateral arm part as far as i can find online, will be seeing for sure Monday morning. i am thinking i am going to go with the aftermarket arms as they are adj. and any future alignment adjustments will be able to be done with out going back to the dealership. after researching this problem it can be caused by improper towing ( mine has not ever been towed) accidents ( has never been an any accidents)or alignment problems with the camber being to far out. Probably very well could be the scooter but since its not even close to the tongue weight limit that is why i am going to go the after market part as the wife needs the scooter....tried to copy and paste picture or address for the part but on rock auto web site this is the part just click on the white info box for a pic. MEVOTECH CMS251168 {#MS251168} Supreme Info Rear Upper; Adjustable; adjustment range: camber ±4°; Lateral Arm

it was to late to check with the dealer today and yes i was going to call them Monday morning actually i had the journey in there last yr for this same problem as it ruined my rear tires before i caught it, evidently what ever they did to get the rear back in line didnt last, the factory part has no adjustment, the aftermarket part has some adj ability as it is made for lifted or bad alignment problems, the one mech said that it might be being caused by us using the rack that carries my wife's 3 wheel medical scooter, but I also had checked around before getting it and 2-3 other mechs said that it shouldn't be a problem, i know the journey has not been wrecked or damaged in any way so it might be the scooters weight.at least if the dealership doesn't have an adjustable part to correct the problem guess ill just go with the aftermarket so i wont end up with the damaged tires again, got lucky this time i caught it before any real damage done...

well just got back from having the tries rotated and balanced no problem there but went to quick lane where i bought a l;lifetime alignment service and have used it 3 times since i purchased it and they are telling me the rear is out of alignment again, i org. had it fixed supposedly with the dealership at first but it is out again and the mechanic showed me that the rear upper lateral bar which is non-adjustable the lower side ones are adjustable. and that is a problem with some dodges and some ford suv , he can order the adjustable replacement aftermarket part on Monday they want about $250 for both sides parts and the labor. i looked it up on rock auto the parts are about $70-85 each. they were telling me it takes about 2 hrs to replace them but hell its just 2 bolts one on each end. makes me want to replace them my self and then let them do the alignment which wont cost me anything, but i am not sure how hard it would be to replace them, not sure if they are under any spring pressure or what. i was going to call the dealership Monday i an sure they would be covered under my max warranty but hell thats a $100. and then they would want to charge for an alignment.and then the replacement part might be not adjustable and then later on down the road be in the same problem. CRAZY to make a part that offers no adjustment for the alignment problems... i have seen some other journey owners complain about something like this i think they called a trailer arm not sure. so either do it myself and cost about 190 -200 for parts and tax or pay them the $250 and let them do it oh well for an old fat man i guess ill pay them....LOL P.S this problem causes cupping and or wearing out the edges of the inside or outside of the tires at least i caught it earlier this tike as the tire shop said tires were wearing okay and no problems...
-
of course it can, it is held in by a nut that screws onto it.But if it is the original tpm, the battery is probally not going to last much longer. might be time to replace them all if they are from the factory....

no problem with mine......i did notice after installing my led bulbs in the fog lights that when i turn on my headlights my fog lights come on automatically without having to use the headlight button, never noticed that happening before i installed the led bulbs. any others notice this. its fine with me but was wondering if any one else notice it as well....

i would get his offer in writing, so when they screw it up big time, you will have it in writing using a power tool on this cap is crazy as you just hand tighten it snug as any more and you might damage the o ring..... be careful they dont damage the bottom side of the oil filter housing it will probably be damaged and the whole unit is $$$$ I would also be allowed to watch them do the repair in person so you will see what they are doing and if they are messing it up again.also make sure they are using the right oil filter as there are 2 different ones for the 3.6 engine

Has Maxcare Delivered A ROI For You?
2late4u replied to Summer Solstice's topic in Maintenance & D.Y.I.
you had better reread it ,that stipulation is in the max warranty as i bought one in 2014.maybe it was changed but that is what in my paperwork and when i asked the rep on it he confirmed that..... one of our members just recently had a transmission replaced under his max life, think he said it would have cost him about 5500 without the warranty , also the travel insurance when broke down goes away after a certain amount of time and miles -
use the settings in the radio ,,,look in your manual and or go b the dealership for more info

i would take it back with the paperwork and or the credit card paperwork and raise holy hell with them and make them reimburse you for what a new cap will cost,if they dont want to help you demand to see the manger or general manger or owner till you get it done. to remove the cap i would try a strap wrench that would go around the top of the cap something like a oil ratchet only with a rubber strap. good luck
