U49 Recall/PCM update
2late4u replied to Jstmahoney's topic in Recalls & Technical Service Bulletins
actually yrs ago with my caravan i had a episode with a cruise control not disengaging after stepping on the brake pedal was kind of scary as of course i was coming up behind another car but mine disengaged by simply shutting off the unit whit the cancel button. I had just that day picked the van up from the dealership where they had worked on the transmission and after looking at the van they latter called and said the van is fixed that it was the brake pedal switch that had gone bad, i kept asking about it as i had just picked it up from the dealership and that it was working before they had it and it wasn't after they gave it back to me ,they kept saying they didnt do anything to have damaged the brake switch disconnect but i had a hard time coming around to their way of thinking. But is was a scary thing to happen and was lucky to have been able to just hit the cancel button....... -

so true about being warned, do what every you want it is your journey i would not be afraid to use it.good luck on what ever you decide... -
yes evidently the fix has not been disclosed to us here at the forum. people come with problems but a lot of one time posters after getting the problem solved dont bother to report back on what happened and how it got resolved, thus leaving others who develop the same problem with no idea on how to fix it. so please share with our readers on what happens to your vec... thanks in advance and good luck.....

well you have the code and it called a generic code for the evap system, you can try replacing parts using the shotgun method or have a trained mechanic check it out for you, online we cant say exactly what is the problem as this is a generic code, could be a lot of things. good luck

had mine done yesterday morning took about 30 mins, i checked all my electronic settings before taking it in and checked everything after wards, every thing still working like they should. actually almost wasn't going to have it done but the wife put the end to that, lol then afterward ran it down and had my alignment checked and was golden there so Monday we are off to Biloix Ms for a little gambling and drinking what a way to enjoy life..... -
havent heard of this before you should make a report on it to the safety dept thur the government. i dont believe they will do anything unless their are a lot of reports for the same thing. good luck

have the battery checked first.most auto stores do it for free, agree with larryl the gauges always act crazy with a low battery.

i have never had much luck with mopar batteries, What was the problem with the rear suspension and what part went bad not a lot of miles for problems there already? -
have been seeing it on facebook, not in my playbook reg cleaning and wax is good enough for me..
-
not good with uploading pics, just somewhere towards the front and about in the middle feel behind the metal seat bracket for any wires and drill a small hole then add a small black headed screw. i did it kind of close to the bracket that attached the plastic cover to the metal seat bracket to give it more strength so it wouldn't break again and it hasn't....
-
didnt replace mine but if and when you get it replaced YOU had better drill and run a screw thur the plastic to secure it to the metal frame or not to far down the road you will be doing it again....
-
i have a small indent in the headliner where the cord from the small black box is glued to, that is the only indent i see but where the bigger plastic cover from the rear view mirror is held on goes all the way to the top of the liner and i cant see if there is a indent there or not.

are you saying the journey is running fine now ,,except it is showing the codes? if so just use it as is and see if the codes will go away after some use................. .also i believe the 2.4 uses the copper plugs not the ones you used...keep us informed on what happens.

check you tube on videos, remove and check for loose connections and or buy a replacement -
as in my previous post i did reorder the kawell lights and installed as i said above and ran the wires to my back up lights.... i have enough light now, works great and yea you can see the 6 inch led light screwed onto of the red reflector but it doesn't look all that bad, for the price i like them a lot..
-
so what was your problem prior to wanting to remove the pdc and did this and cleaning what seems to be some corrosion that is shown? just seen your second post, so i guess this fixed your shifting problem,,,, great job and yes you should make a u tube video wouldn't take you very long and it would be make you famous....
-
change out the heater core as suggested by the dealership . pay them $$$ or check out you tube for a simple way to change it out yourself or have your local mechanic watch it for a cheaper way to do it$.

Material thickness on factory brakes
2late4u replied to etowiosee's topic in Brake, Chassis & Suspension
i just replaced my brakes all 4 corners on my 2014 crossroad and i have about 74 k on it , i had already bought the wagner thermoquite pads and when i removed the pads i was surprised as to how much pad was left, look like about half of the pads were still there . went ahead and changed them all out, the rears looked more worn then the fronts.guess i would have got at least 100 k on them but was half way there so done them all.... -
oh well havent had any problems so far guess i wait for the letter.....LOL

Fiat Chrysler recalls 4.8 million vehicles, shares fall Fiat Chrysler is warning the owners of about 4.8 million vehicles to stop using the cruise control immediately. A potential defect could leave the driver unable to cancel cruise control during certain circumstances. Drivers should not use cruise control until the vehicles have been inspected. The recall is one of the largest ever issued in the U.S. Phil LeBeau | @Lebeaucarnews Published 24 Mins Ago Updated 2 Mins AgoCNBC.com Source: Fiat Chrysler 2018 Jeep Wrangler Fiat Chrysler is warning the owners of approximately 4.8 million vehicles to stop using the cruise control immediately due a potential defect that could leave the driver unable to cancel cruise control during certain circumstances. The recall is one of the largest ever issued in the U.S. It covers 14 Jeep, Ram, Chrysler and Dodge models built between 2014 and 2018. The automaker says it knows of no accidents, injuries or fatalities caused by the defect. In premarket trading Friday, Fiat Chrysler shares fell about 2.5 percent. The warning to stop using cruise control comes as more than 36 million people get ready to hit the road for the long holiday weekend. Many are likely to be in Fiat Chrysler models covered by the warning and recall. Fiat Chrysler says if drivers are unable to cancel cruise control, they can eventually stop the vehicle by shifting it into neutral and braking. Once the vehicle has stopped, drivers must put it in park in order to cancel the cruise-control engagement. The automaker is planning to fix the defect with a software update. FCA says it will soon start notifying owners when they should bring their vehicles into dealerships for the repair. The following models are affected: 2015-17 Chrysler 200 sedan 2014-18 Chrysler 300 sedan 2017-18 Chrysler Pacifica minivan 2015-18 Dodge Challenger coupe 2014-18 Dodge Charger sedan 2014-18 Dodge Journey CUV 2014-18 Dodge Durango SUV 2014-18 Jeep Cherokee SUV 2014-18 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV 2018 Jeep Wrangler 2014-19 Ram 1500 pickup 2014-18 Ram 2500 pickup 2014-18 Ram 3500 pickup 2014-18 Ram 3500 cab chassis
