  1. dealership might be the best place to go, now you have done the basic stuff that they may have done also. plus they have the experience on these cars and electronics also.
  2. just wondering do you think the way it was made taking air in at the top them going downward then into the air box might have been designed to keep water from being sucked into the filter. if it comes straight into the filter causing problems ?
  3. several posters have said they are good tires, i myself have never had them BUT i just had set of hankook tires installed on my daughters mail jeep and she says they are good... just look at the tire ratings and reviews go from there .that is what we all do
  4. as i said above i did notice a slight drone noise when i hit the gas didn't seem to hear it before the install of the hitch( thinking it might be from the hitch making a more solid connection at the rear between the frame) but i havent noticed any loss of power or such. now i did add a folding carrier that has a folding loading ramp for my wife's 3 wheel medical scooter and even with that didnt notice any loss of power. i avg about 22 mpg ( in town and some out of town driving) with or without the scooter loaded and the scooter weighs about 250 lbs, but on long trips on the interstate i still will avg about 23-25 mpg. happy with my Journey anyways....
  5. the 400 lbs is the tongue weight max for towing it weighs 37.5 lbs same one i put on my crossroad and mine is a class 3.....
  6. the tow hitch i bet doesn't weigh more than 40 lbs,so that wouldn't cause any difference
  7. i would do the 4 cyl, but i have the 3.6 and i watched a video or 2 on how to do it, and i guess i'm showing my age but think i would rather pay someone to do it since it only once every 100k...
  8. used with the old oil filters 2011-2013 you can youtube it, it was a small plastic part over a spring that the oil filter slipped over when being installed, guess it was easily broken somehow you can get the replacement part from dorman #917-992, I had to youtube 2013 dodge journey oil by pass valve broken to see what he was talking about.....
  9. as if it would make a difference on which way the filter actually fits the first time when it's brand new it will still work.only if you just shake it off and reuse it you would want it to go back in the same way....
  10. cant complain about my journey , i have 67k on the speedo and checked the pads on the last tire rotation and they look about 1/4- to 1/2 gone.and you might be like the big crown vic i seen a couple of days ago that kept hitting their brakes in the left lane and drove with her foot resting on the brake even when she was picking up speed of course she was holding up traffic since she was blocking us from passing, thank goodness that only lasted for about 3 miles before she finally made her left turn.
  11. figured he would need the sales code since dodge charges for everything LOL
  12. what brand filter are you using...
  13. because you need to take it in for a 4 wheel alignment. i just noticed my 2014 with about 30 k on my tires the rear were wearing on the outside of the tread on just the rear tires so had it aligned and they said yep the front alignment was great but the rears were out. cost me $89. at the dodge dealership but could have got it done cheaper at the local garage but i trust my dealer.....
  14. you will need a sale code is what you are talking about but i would guess you will have to have the dealership do a flash on your journey, no way around that...
  15. havent noticed that but i did seem to notice a drone noise when i gun it but that could be from the K-N air filter that i added
  16. i see you are in Canada dont they give you all 2 yrs of free oil changes, they do down in the U.S.
  17. i would let 10 psi out of each tire then add it back and take it for a drive to see if it goes off and or disconnect the battery for 20 minutes, you might have one of them thinking tire pressure is low even tho it isn't... worth a try. when googling the problem it said if your message was blinking then their was a equipment problem if it stays on steady then it is a valve problem or low tire... good luck
  18. so i assume the pads are in great shape and not wore down, make sure all your wire connections at each wheel are connected, other then that....
  19. there are two little dimples on the front center of your bumper drill 2 holes and add 2 screws...
  20. I agree most dealership cannot keep up with electronic age that has involved with our vehicles that said you will find ones that are better than the other that go by the old adage that we know more then you do. i have two dealerships that are closer to my house that aren't worth a sh-t and that is why i drive about 20 miles farther down the road to the one i deal with. now there is one service writer there that i dont deal with as she has a bad attitude that i dont get along with, but there are others that will bend over backwards to help you. also i use to work in a factory running my machine and when it would have a problem i would call our skilled trades to fix it, of course most of them had the attitude that they knew more about that machine that i did ( which they did) BUT i ran it more than they did and would have a good guess at what was wrong with it but i wouldn't come out and tell them what i thought was wrong as then it would take twice as long to get it fixed as they didnt like to be told what to do ,so i would slowly tell them how it was acting and let them come to the same conclusion what i thought it was ,kind of had to spoon feed the info to them lol but hey it worked ... same with the dealership if you go in demanding to them what you think is wrong they will take a defensive attitude towards to the problem...
  21. yes you will have to the dealership add the sales code and activate it and that will cost you $$ contact your dealer for the cost or bypass all that and go with the aftermarket wiring harness that is what ill do if i ever need it
  22. explain to me how i put the car down. he left no comment to his problems except with the yr and how many miles it has on it, and how long he has had it 10 days and then ask have i made a bad mistake. i answered yes he might have. not knowing anything else about it i think my answer was possible correct to his question under the conditions he gave us. so cut us some slack I would say most of us that have replied to this post love our Journeys and a couple of us have purchased 2 of them that we like them so much.
  23. well i am in the northern top of the state, it will start to get cold around nov. and we almost always get sleet and ice hardly any snow, mostly around the 20 -40 degree most of the winter with good chance of real bad sleet or snow in jan or feb. lol when they are calling for a forecast of snow or sleet they will close schools.hell i've seen them close the schools with a threat of bad rain storms. i used to live in Michigan so i am used to getting snow but since then my blood must have thinned out to much... P.S. and in Michigan they never closed the schools for any reasons...
