  1. mine is more clear than that but still a little grainy, you never said if you still have any warranty i would take it in if you do...
  2. this brings up the question of how tight to tighten the oil cap? i always hand tighten to start with then i use a socket that matches the nut and tighten it up till it's tight and then i bump it a little bit.as i have no torque wrench that would work on this low of torque. havent had no problems yet doing it this way. since it uses an o ring, it shouldn't need to be over tightened....
  3. true story was working on daughters pos old jeep looking for the power steering leak and took off my glasses to see better and i find the leak it was a little hose and when i go to get up i step on my glasses damaging one of the lens so i save her some money and cost myself about $200 to have the one lens replaced... man sometimes it just doesn't pay to be a nice father.....
  4. well at least someone didnt key it like they did one of my new vechiles the day i drove it off the lot yrs ago , i stopped at a discount store and parked away from where everyone else had parked so i guess i drew attention to my new van and thought i'll get that son of a ____ well i guess you know that word......feel your pain .....
  5. read all the post here ... you really dont want the nav.... LOL get you a good garmin or have On Star unit installed.....
  6. someone posted on F B to use a ratchet strap wrench might work i would give it a try if i was you...
  7. mine is real clear during the day and it is a little grainy at night but still very easy to see what is back there.i can see the color variations even at night no problem. you must have a wire problem or equipment problem.but ever since i had to put a lift up carrier back there for my wife's scooter the back up cam is not as effective , i can see thur it but i dont trust myself using only that.....
  8. bees???? take it to a dealer....or you will be stranded with a dead battery
  9. not normal and i would take it to your dealership if your still in warranty, are you saying it makes the noise with the car shut off or just in park with the engine running?

    just saying

well just for the folks that must complain about our journeys i thought i would post things could be worse...thought some would get a kick out of how the engineers make everything so difficult to fix or do maintenance on their vechiles. but sorry if i had to explain that to you......

    just saying

wow, just got thur checking the air filter on my daughters 2016 jeep patriot..they couldn't have made it any more rought to change, first there is about 6 2 inch screws you have to take completely out and 2 of them on the back side that are almost impossible to reach had to use a socket on a swivel joint attached to a 6 inch extension attached to a ratchet, okay got them all out now you have to take out another screw attaching the air box top to the fender wall, the good thing it was real clean so shook it out a little then reassembled the whole damn thing and of course i drop the back screw and when it fell it didnt go all the way to the ground, so had to use a different screw from the workbench.... why they didnt use snap clamps like they use on most vehicles ????also i was installing a seat setback on the right seat and boy i wish the rear doors on it would open like our journeys do.. anyways got her all set so she can deliver the mail a little more comfortable now........
  12. to be honest almost any place would be cheaper then the dealership for an oil change. i would just make sure they are using the right oil filter...

    Hey All

larryl is giving you some good advice i had a 2011 and it had some rotor problems but not to bad i traded it for a 2014 and the brakes are so much better, i would advise to upgrade your ride if you havent already bought it to a 2013 or newer if you can afford it, (the cheap comes out the expensive at times)... also unless he has upgraded the brakes to the larger calipers and rotors you might still have problems with them...

    Hey All

what he is saying this yr has undersized brake rotors and you might have ongoing warping of the rotors due to heat and hard use, some do and some dont mostly depends on your use and how you drive...welcome to the group....
  17. so much info on a car 8yrs old ,yes the brakes can be a problem but i am thinking you drive like my daughter who is hard on her brakes in any car......
  18. why not ask the parts dept at your dealership, could be different wires on the back side for your 2017????
  19. stay with the 17 tires as they are cheaper to replace. have been told even size tires are cheaper than odd size tires so if you upgrade stay with the even size...
  20. engine size, miles? also did you try putting gear selector in neutral and then starting it? sometimes mine doesn't start and i push the button to off then re step on the brake pedal harder then hit the start button works for me ,i dont think i am pushing hard enough of the brake pedal when it doesn't start. have a local auto store do a load test on your battery just in case....
  21. take it by the dealer on monday.
