really not needed unless you go off road with your journey and then it depends on the toughness of the skid plate for it to do its job.also would question if it will interfere with keeping the cooling of the engine and would it trap debris or mud and or salt on the top side between the cover and the engine....if you do get it take some pics and post it here might be something others might consider....good luck

welcome to the group. looks great and i know you will enjoy owning your journey for many yrs to come.it use to be you would never buy a vech with 100k on it but the engines are made so much better now days, you should get a lot more miles out of it .....

he says front windows so i assume he means the front side windows not the windshield but i have seen some cars with the whole windshield tinted it looks dangerous....

it worked for me and i heard the chirps sounds like a baby chick .have no idea what would cause it but like jekeaton says take it to a dealership to have them check it out.....

some times the cheap comes out expensive.....

we are getting so many post that are very hard to understand due to the posters wording and lack of info. i believe that when they start their membership it should be required to list the yr of their journey ( that way we would have some idea for their question) the region from where they live( so we would have an idea of what conditions they might be encountering on their journey) maybe even engine size (2.4 , 3.6, 3.5 ,or diesel from overseas) What do you all think???????

i was past the mileage on the 3 yr/36 miles and that part is not covered under the power train warranty from what i was told.. dealer said the cost of replacing that sender unit is about $400-500 as the book calls for them to pull a bunch of the top of the engine to get to it. there was a you-tube video of a dodge mechanic replacing it with out doing all that by working on it by feel. i tried to see it after watching the video and hell i couldn't hardly even see the part took him about 1/2 hr of course they would still charge you the full time the book calls for ....

had it added to mine also, hard to understand why a dealer would order their cars without the backup cam ,as my journey had the 8.4 display i am still thing of adding the back up parking sensors that beep. the one thing i really like to have is the signal that tells you someone is in your blind spot as they are passing you, i have read their are some add on units but they didnt get real good reviews from the testers as to many false alerts from them.

i had my sender go bad also at around 48 k but was during the hot summer, had a local dealership ( i was on a trip out of my home state) repair under my extended warranty. he said the have had quite a few go bad he said the sender is working fine just reading high pressure , they must have gotton a bad load of units for our 2014 journeys oh well ended up costing me my $100 deductible the sender is in a real hard place to reach on the engine,,

didnt they tell you that you get free oil changes the first 2 yrs? also if your changing your oil and dont reset the reminder that why is why it went off after just 1 k of driving. i dont believe our journeys oil reminder actual checks the condition of the oil like my daughters G.M. Tahoe does, i believe it is more off the miles you drive and maybe the way you drive... just what i believe...i bet your reminder will start going off around 6- now you do know how to reset it dont you? if not its in the manual real easy.

my daughters one coil pack was going bad on her caravan and her regular mechanic replaced it once also,then it went bad he replaced it again for free since the party was covered under his warranty then it started acting up again so she took it to him and by then it was running OK so he started checking the wiring and found the plastic connector from the wire harness that connected to the coil pack was shorting out on the inside of the connector,he replaced that connector and she never had any more problems with the coil pack.

well you know what they say about a rental car drive like you stole it..and most people do just that and believe me rental cars are not maintained like they should be, that is called down time and that does not making them any money.... good luck

well he should be able to see for himself if their is any leaks,even small ones leave fluid and dirt build up where they are leaking.depends on how the vehicle was driven during the time he owned it and what kind of roads it was driven on, but yes i would defiantly get a second opinion on what is needed

some do and some dont .Just like most other brands there is always some problems . I love my Journey.....

mine come with both but have never used the cargo net its just a joke. i also have the cargo area cover and have never used it's just standing in the closet with my rear seat headrest that i removed for better line of sight...

i went the website he is charging 332.50 now plus your install or do it yourself and let the dealer flash your journey to activate it. part #822125533ab or just click on the journey pic and scroll down to the back up cam. have no idea if they are prewired but there has been a discussion on here that it is, but some say they can't find the wires. car manufactures are always looking for the cheapest way to build the car so i would say no it's not pre wired for it.and i use to work for chrysler and they look to save a fraction of a cent due to large volume it addas up.... good luck

i would imagine the outside housing would pop off using a flat screwdriver but why not ask at the dealership for a correct answer????

well both my 2011 and my 2014 journeys both went at least 6-7 k before the change oil light comes on sometimes even longer but i usally change around 6k so I dont worry about it.

well to be honest there isnt much unused space under the hood..

i was told if you upgrade stay with an even number size wheel that the tires for those are a lot more reasonable .yea theses 19 look good but can get expensive, id say i saved about $ 300-350 when i bought them thur discount tire compared to the local tire stores

just picked the tires up this morning,checked the manufacturing date and they were made the 17 week of 2017 so only couple of months old.....KM-04 if you have the 19 inch tire you won't find tires cheaper anywhere else i upsized and bought 235 55 19 cooper cs5 on my 2014 and have already put 30 k on them and they look less than half used, this size throws off your speed by 1 mph @ 70 mph.... i love cooper tires.... bought hankook tires this time for my daughter's jeep....
