  1. so what is the journey doing as of now? , we need a lot more info?,,overheating? what is ity doing?
  2. you will need a magnetic spark plug socket OR use any deep well socket and then a telescopic magnet to lift the plug out of the hole and then use a piece of plastic tuning to attach to the tip of the plug to lower it into the opining, or I did see a video on sticking the plug into the coil and then use that to lower it into the opening or just splurge on buying the proper magnetic socket, easy to do good luck

  4. this is so true my daughter had a jeep with the 2.4 eng and I always changed her plugs every 30 k and then one time amazon sent me the iridium plugs instead of the normal OEM ones and I installed them and they were the correct number plug as well but in less than a week she was saying dad the patriot is hesitating and not acting right, so I remembered about the plugs and went to the local part store and bought another set of the correct ones, installed them and hey no more problems
  5. also only used the oem plugs that are the copper ones they are cheap and easy to change on the 2.4 ,,,about $5, each
  6. looks like 16 mpg in city and 21 interstate depends on how you drive not to far off i get around 18- 20 in city and 23=26 interstate which engine and how it is being driven? and have you changed the spark plugs? 165 k =103 k in miles 3.6 change at 100 k and 2,4 eng every 30 k also you are due for the transmission service as well
  7. also check your grounds at the starter and at the remote access for the battery/jump start connection since your in the northwest area
  8. 150 k for me on my 2014 still waiting on the abs module from the dealership (on backorder for over a yr+ as of know) just the 3 lights with the cruise control inop is the worst part of this...LOL,,, like you still loving my journey shame they discontinued it....
  9. your clip I couldn't get it to open,BUT if this a new noise and you have had your journey for a couple of yrs then I would have the front end checked out and the struts and other suspension parts checked with the brake parts as well, journeys are prone to make noise when go over bumps in the pavement and no real solution other than the reported upper strut bearing being most of the problems reported,,,I have had 2 journeys and both of them have had the noise as well and it always seems to be louder during cold weather,,,hope you found the problem and pleas report back on your answer to it
  10. since the4y only posted 2 times and then never came back and posted the fix for their problem we will never know, if they would reply back on the situation then others can learn from their problem,,you could do the hard reset they talked about doing but never came back to say if it helped or not you could check on doing that from videos on you tube for more info ,, it might work,,, its just like resetting your computer to fix a simple glitch
  11. schalid when you replaced your struts did you use the complete strut or just the cartage that goes inside the spring,,,,journeys have been said that the upper strut bushing /bearings have been found to be the problem of the noise/clunks that mostly journeys owners complain about,,( me as well)
  12. LOL join a group and then start complaining about the quirks of said journey as if no other car has their short comings,,, oh well welcome to the group any ways and hope you have better luck in the future on the vehicle,,,just wondering if you have the 2.4 eng or the 3.6 eng?
  13. my 2014 had a time going Thru upside down camera angles and inop frequencies at different times and then finally it went black so into the dealership since I had extended warranty on it and they replaced the camera lens and that what was the problem, many videos on you tube about replacing it as well, one other possible problem area is the wires going Thur the hatch back at the upper left side in the rubber boot which the camera wires have to go Thur, could be a broken wire or shorted out wire as well.........good luck and please report back on what you find to be the problem for others to learn from
  14. then you need to take it to a radiator shop or a dodge dealership which will cost you more BUT they usually know more about their product than most repair shops
  15. when the journey is sitting at idle in park, does your rad fan come on.? Please have your vehicle checked out by a specialist before you ruin your engine
  16. might not be the proper way but a lot faster and easier also would be a great time to replace the upper toe links as well with the strut out of your way
  17. it will,,,, what they told me was when the tpms with the low battery gets so low, even if you move it to a different position the tpms module still remembers the last position it was in
  18. mine did me the same way, drove me crazy for a while as i tried to figure it out and but then it finally went out and I just replaced all 4 TPMS since I had a 2014, that fixed it right away as they batteries were getting low and the shop said the tpm rec module wont act right after they get so low,,,yes it is $$$ but it fixed the problem,,save yourself some $$ from using the parts cannon and just re[place them
  19. you might have a broken wire in the drivers door in the rubber boot area a know weak space for the wires,,,is it all the doors not turning on the lights when opened?what about when you open the rear hatch do they come on then?
  20. If you cant do the work or have some one you trust to do it on the side then, yes you are at the mercy of whoever you use,,prices can vary wildly between auto repair shops of course you get what you pay for most of the time.....$890 is kind of high on the brakes as far as I am concerned with, parts off Amazon should be around 4 rotors for around $200,, pads around $60 to $120 for the good brands(akebono)are the only pads I will use,,,plus labor the rest just depends on parts and labor ,but all of what you posted needs to be fixed right away also good price on the alignment where I live $ 99. is the cheapest that they will do for a 4 wheel alignment job which is req on journeys $106 on Amazon for front wheel bearing plus labor
  21. thanks for replying back on the fix as that is how others can learn what might be their fix for certain problems
  22. antifreeze jugs are prone to crack, also could it be a drip from your ac drain hole? Put some cardboard down with some rocks on it to keep it from blowing away and then you should be able to tell from the color which fluid it is.
  23. Well probably It would be better to take it back to the dealership since they had already worked on it and as they have a lot more experience and equipment to diagnosis your journey problem... Have to ask if you just got it from the dealership and it was still running rough why didn't you take it back right away ,seems to be the right thing to do to me?
  24. Most probably in the rubber boot in the left upper rear part of your lift gate, this is a weak spot on dodge journeys for wires to break or short out...look on you tube for videos on how and where to fix broken wires in this spot and please report back on what you find out was your problem and how you fixed it for others that might have a simpler problem..also check out the forum for more info on this has been asked before, good luck and Welcome to the group as well
