2014 Jouney 225/55/r19 need to switch to something better?!?
2late4u replied to Whitney's topic in Wheels & Tires
i am using the 235 55 19 cooper c5 on my 2014 so far i really like them i got a great deal thur discount tires online if you order thur them its best to wait for a holiday they always run extra discounts then. i didnt get the warranty and just them down to walmart had them mounted and balance lifetime for 14 a tire.ordered thwm on a fri nite delivered on tue morning also checked the age of the tires and they had just been made less then a month of getting them. -
you probably damage the tpms as they reset themselves or they go bad from age, are the rest of the tires reading okay and just the one not reading, or all of them not reading?

Power Steering failure but everything seems intact
2late4u replied to cheseroo's topic in Brake, Chassis & Suspension
id least get it to a local dealer or good mechanic nearby for a quick thought of what they think is wrong with it.better hope its not the rack and pinion unit as that would be really expensive and difficult to replace more likely to be the power steering unit if want a guess. -
well hate to see you leave but hey at least you bought ford, about 6 months ago i bought a but load of ford stock for a quick flip but since thin it has went down about $3. a share so i am stuck in it but at least it pays a great dividend so with that ill get even in 3 yrs. even if it doesn't go back up, but it will go back up they have a great line up in trucks and with them redoing the super duty trucks that will start paying off in the coming yr. but i digress, so anyways dont drop a load of concrete blocks into your truck bed like the chevrolet people do theirs, lol, if you know what i mean.....

New hitch and Bike rack installed. Only 3 day old at the time
2late4u commented on pzookey's gallery image in Dodge Journey Member Albums
well went and picked up my hitch at ups and did all our stuff today got home about 3pm so i unpacked my curt hitch which wasn't much, got out some gloss black paint to touch up all the scratched spots on the hitch showing bare metal then backed the journey into the garage out of the sun jacked it up put my jack stands under both sides and then put a strap from both sides to help hold up the exhaust pipe sprayed all the rubber parts on the exhaust hangers and started cussing and fighting with getting them off the hangers took about 20 minutes till i got the hang of it( they do sell a tool for removing them for about $18.)then fished the brackets and bolts thur the channels in the underbody then took the hitch which was still a little tackey in some spots and put a couple of rags on top of my jack and then set the hitch on top of them then i taped the two outer spacers into position on top of the hitch with electrical tape then scooted it into position and raised it up was a little difficult, an extra person would have made it a lot easier but no one around so had to make do, got the nuts started and had problem with one side with the spacer slipped out of where i had taped it on ( u tube showed a guy using wide painters tape covering the hole spacer and then just making a hole thur the tape) and i would recommend that instead of using 2 pieces of electrical tape like i did would have saved some trouble i had with the one that came loose.then just tightened all the bolts up even and torqued to 110 ft lb. and then resprayed all the rubber exhaust connectors again and slid them back into position took the strap off and let the journey down off the stands, looking great the hitch has about 1 inch or more between the top of it and the bottom of the spare. looks great and will add the electrical later as i am just going to use it for a small basket on the back for the wife's 3 wheel scooter at a later date.all told took me about 1.5 hr labor not bad for an old man laying on his back. glad i live in alabama as the bottom of the car was real clean and not all corroded up from the salt like the cars up north i'm sure it made the install easier I would recommend the CURT hitch to any one easy install and looks like a quality piece of equipment it could have been better wrap for delivery but wasn't to bad bad scratched..... -
GPS Self Reset!?!
2late4u replied to Avistow's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
and my point was exactly what i typed. i paid for a service they messed it up so i had them fix the mistake that way i am covered under the warranty. your response might have been okay if it would have required a separate return incurring a lengthy wait. also maybe every body is not as highly educated as you on what might have gone wrong while they were working on my journey you always seam to have a smart *** remark or comment on some peoples advice to some one trying to help out someone that has posted a problem in this forum ,maybe you are the one that has a problem i would suspect. -
so what do you do for work up there in Alberta?

looks like it sticks out quit far hard to tell from the pic .i just ordered a curt hitch ( 13201) for my 2014 crossroad sunday it is supposed to come( thur am)in the moring going to pick it up from ups then have to spend the rest of the day taking wife to the dr. office and shopping, plan on putting it on fri. i watched the u tube videos and looks pretty easy. cost me $117. U.S. from amazon didnt get the wire kit yet as i plan on using it to carry wife's scooter in a small carrier, but will get the kit ( 56154 ) later just to have it should cost about 45.17 on amazon even though they say its not the right kit it is the kit everybody says works for the journey with led lights. -
GPS Self Reset!?!
2late4u replied to Avistow's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
well since i had just left the dealership and they were the ones that mess it up why not turn around and go back and make them fix it, especially since it was still covered under warranty. would be kind of stupid for someone to go home and then try to fix it themselves, of course there are few people like that i guess.... thanks for your input tho -
GPS Self Reset!?!
2late4u replied to Avistow's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
well that doesn't mean they knocked a wire loose for the buttons. Saying that ,on my 2014 i had the rear camera added and they had to get to the radio for the install they said David your car is ready so i jump in and get about 5 miles down the road and went to use the air conditioning and some of the buttons didnt work so back i go to the dealer and they take it right in and then said well its fixed now, some connections had came loose.... matter all fixed.... so take it back!!!!! -
at least you are under the 36k part of it and also the yrs, i would verify your are under warranty and then take it to the dodge dealer and let them see if there is a problem . and also did the selling gm dealer give you any warranty like 30 -60 day. take it to the dodge dealership like you are going to do and also have them checkout what you are describing as it should be covered under their 3 yr 36k warranty and at least you should still have the 5yr 70k powertrain left, not sure what is all covered under that portion, plus take it back and get them new tires before they change their mind.....good luck

Rear calipers locked up in driveway?
2late4u replied to Red99RT's topic in Brake, Chassis & Suspension
well if it happens at home you might want to jack up both rear tires and see which side is doing it buy turning them by hand at least you would be able to get more info for the dealership to act on....good luck .let us know what you find out.... -
Rear calipers locked up in driveway?
2late4u replied to Red99RT's topic in Brake, Chassis & Suspension
never had that happen to my journey but years ago up in st. louis while at work a sleet and snow storm came in and when i went to leave my caravan rear wheels wouldn't turn, got out and looked and thought wth, so just got back in hit the brakes couple of times then put it in reverse didnt break loose so i just put it in gear and hit the gas the rear tires drag for about 10 feet then broke loose and all was fine, checked the rear drums and pads about a month later when i got home and better weather and there was no damage... -
