so what was the issue? was the battery leaking?
-
my aunt had a crown vic and didnt hardly drive it because she wanted it to last a long time well after 1 1/2 yrs it wouldn't start so she had it towed into the dealership and they laughed and told her you only have 900 miles on it. you have to drive it enough to keep it charged up or it will go bad LOL after that she drove it more often. i dont think that is what happened here but like i said i never had much luck with the org battery.if you have advance auto stores up there go on retailmenot.com and click on advance auto coupons you will get one worth $40. off anything over $105. i always get the best one cost about $130. with the 40 off drops it down to less than 100 and the last one i put in my truck was from there and that was about 6yrs ago...

well on the 2011 you couldn't add the rear camera to your journey it was almost a yr later that it then became available to have it added and i had checked several dealers about the back up camera right after buying it....but that is history....
-
ive never had great luck with the org batteries, replaced my 2011 just before i traded in for my 2014 crossroad it did have 60 k on it when it started going bad traded when it had about 70k... i wouldn't get it replaced at the dealership....

yrs ago my dad had a clear bug deflector for a while and then wanted it to match his van so he cleaned it real good and then painted the back side of it and it looked great and the paint never chipped since it was on the back side....

well thats good but when i drive 100mph i usually have my windows up and the air on......LOL
-
i always buy the weather tech, in channel kind, just looks a lot better and great quality.NOW that said dont buy the 4 window set as the rear window ones dont stay in the channel like the front ones do unless you glue or modified them i bought them and after a long trip cross country was only going about 20-30 mph i rolled the rear right window down a bout 4 -5 inches and whoop out it flew... oh well stop and got it but later on i just pulled the other one out. WOW just checked their price up there for you Canadians i only paid about $90 for the 4 window set and found out later could have got the fronts for just less then half of that. You guys get hosed on everything up there.....

Passive Entry Issue
2late4u replied to lytefall's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Key Fobs, Locks & Remote Start
my 2014 had about 4k on it we went to las vegas from al and after being there a few days the locks quit working unless using a key or inside buttons took it to the local dealer next morning and they started working okay, just before the dealership opened so i left and got almost back to the casino and stopped to wash it got back in it and the air would work but only coming out the floor vents went back to the dealer and of course his mech for the ac was on vacation so made an appointment for a few days later and the next morning the air was working fine oh well i just chalked it up to computer software messing up, this last yr was coming back from our 2nd trip to vegas in it and noticed as i was heading east the evic was saying i was heading west LOL got out the manual head had to do a reset and everything started working okay again, anf then just a few days ago i shut the rear hatch door and the back up cam, air ,and radio quit working drove it home shut it off and removed the stuff from the rear and then tried starting it back up and everything works okay. car kind of acts like my computer does when it mess up just turn it off and give it a rest and everything starts back up oh well i love my Journey anyway..... -

9006 LED bulbs
2late4u replied to hockey_puck's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
have been following this and is it worth all the trouble and expense to switch.to be honest i do wish the lights were a little brighter but all this sounds like to much trouble and now shop vacs noise is being brought up.....LOL -
i just switched to the same size and went with cooper cs5 tires havent really noticed any mpg difference, that said you did go to a slightly bigger tire size about .9 mph faster on the speedo so i am sure that would throw the evic out a bit . also you are commenting about the better grip the tires give you on the road, that would probably be also affecting your mpg as a harder tire compound that doesn't grip as good would give you better mpg and longer life of the tire than a softer tire compound would. also make sure you are running the same air pressure that you were before in case they didnt fill them enough. good luck anyways

my 2011 once told me to check the gas cap, no code simply that..

well just turned 37k and stop at Loews for some fertilizer and throw it into the back and get in the car and start it up and WTF no back up camera, air conditioning was on but at a low setting where i had it before and the radio wouldn't work so drive home turned it off and then restarted again same thing so turned it off got out and opened the hatch and removed my purchase and then shut it and then turned the car back on, whoa everything back working. Guess the warranty gremlins working overtime i guess, glad i bought the lifetime yr/miles warranty but i really dont want to have to use it to quickly .....Cars are getting too fancy these days with to many things that can go wrong, I dont even want one that drives by itself.. NO WAY NO HOW....

Pictures of new 2017 Dodge Journey
2late4u replied to Billy Billy's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
fiat is setting Chrysler up to be sold or merged in a few yrs, think about it big trucks, jeeps and suvs only no small cars, only the big money makers that other companies might be interested in. the new Pacific starts out at 29k no more cheap caravans that started out at 21k -
actual i like the org color best...
-
most new vehicles always look like each other. i think the new Pacifica looks a lot like the Honda Odyssey and since they are hyping the vacuum cleaner on the high $$ version, i guess that who they are after, personally i dont need a built in vacuum cleaner. BUT i do think they are making a mistake by getting rid of the dodge caravan as that was for the low budget min van owner or first time buyer at around 20k i think they are going to push them to different vehicles as from what i hear the Pacifica is going to start at almost 28k......

Rear Wiper Coverage
2late4u replied to lytefall's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
well the old blade was working just fine but the rubber was tearing, the arm is made of thick plastic all the way down to the bearing that bolts on to the motor stub and i was the one to replace it so i knew how to remove the blade without using any force.just dont know, but its no big deal and yes the rubber blade does lift off when it reaches the top of the rear glass, used my heat gun to soften the plastic to try to bend it in a little but was afraid of breaking the arm and it started to change the color of the plastic so i quit messing with it as i dont want to have to buy a whole new arm from the dealership as that probable be some $$$ oh well it works okay.... -
Rear Wiper Coverage
2late4u replied to lytefall's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
well got a trico wiper for the rear window no better then the duralast wiper, rain x didnt have none for the rear wiper,oh well should have saved the factory wiper as it wiped all the way up a person could slip the old rubber blade out and slid in a new one would be a bit tricky but could be done.. -
Rear Wiper Coverage
2late4u replied to lytefall's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
had to replace my front wipers went with bosh icons , they are great. replaced the rear wiper with duralast from auto zone and had to return it as it was crap when wiping it doesn't touch the glass on the top when wiping, going with some tricos wiper as advance auto had to get them from a different store hope they work better, will report later on how they work. not much choice on these rear wipers as they look like a one wiper fits anything... might have to go with the dealership, and theirs takes a week to get and cost $18. for one. -
use to work at GMC 30 yrs ago building tractor trailer semis and when we would get a rattle in the door (screw or what ever the fix was drill a small hole in the side of the door and squirt windshield sealant into it then open and shut the door till the noise was gone them put a screw in the hole... LOL that was the fix we were told to use, as it was get them out the door as fast as we could...
