  1. i have a 2014 as well, sounds like the trans is going out on you, mine is JUST FWD but i would assume that since you have an AWD and even if the the rear went out you should still have FWD still, sounds like having it diagnostic will give you exactly what has went wrong and of course that usually cost you some $$ but still cheaper than throwing parts at your journey when you are not sure what is wrong..sorry this has happened to you, but please report back when you find out the problem is for others that might occur this as well........Welcome to the group as well and good luck
  2. 4 yr old battery ,,,yes just replace it and make sure your connections are clean and tight
  3. the 4 spds ONLY go into the journeys with the 2.4 engine and the 6 spds only go into the ones with the 3.6 engine
  4. i am no way a transmission man but since you replaced the filter and fluid, and it is still doing it there might be a trans update they could do but i would be more into the solenoid shift module which is inside of your trans might need a twick or something ..............one symptom of a bad unit,,,,, 3. Hard Gear Changes........... gear changes after a slow change up or down are another strong indicator of a shift solenoid problem. You’ll often hear a clunking sound, and the car might lurch for a moment as it grabs the next gear. Again, it can happen when you’re going up or down the tree, but you’re more likely to notice it shifting from first to second. In some cars, hard downshifts with normal upshifting can mean that the problem is isolated to just the downshifting solenoid. This is just one solenoid in the entire transmission solenoid pack. You’re most likely to notice an issue like this if you’re coasting to a stop and the road has a mild incline. At some point, before you step on the brakes, the transmission downshifts with a soft “Clunk.”
  5. about 6 months ago mine made a funny noise as it was closing BUT it still works if when closing it i push it back closed, gently i wasnt sure what happened but as long as it will close i didnt want to tear into it as i have a poor track record on fixing things like this....LOl
  6. i couldn't figure out what he was saying as well
  7. LOL........ We hit the mother load
  8. well first you need to find out IF you have AWD or FWD first, if FWD check out youtube videos to see if you have a cv axle going bad or also could be a wheel bearing as well, if you have AWD that opens the door to a lot more expensive problems towards the rear,,,check out the forum under Engine/driveline for more info
  9. Found this on youtube for you LOTS of great videos and info can be found there,,,,,,,,,,welcome to the group
  10. welcome to the group i as well have a 2014 crossroad 3.6 FWD. please take some time and read thur the forum under the different section, a lot of great info there
  11. my typing sucks and so does my vision, yes around 70-90 degree weather temps ,206 normal operating temp after being warmed up with 211- 215 normal driving on freeway and in town and 218 has been my highest temp i have ever seen in my 2014,I also just replaced my thermostat last yr as well with mopar coolant...sorry for my mistake on the temps all in fahrenheit readings
  12. last post from me on this as you dont sound serious but no i live in Alabama which is in the southern part of the U.S,and am talking fahrenheit so no the numbers you are talking about are way to high, i urge you to have your journey checked by the dodge dealership as they are QUALIFIED to work on it before you overheat your engine
  13. there are a lot of brands that say they are compatible with mopar systems, that said since you dont know what your machine used, i would if you have already replaced the thermostat is to flush it again and then use mopar coolant which will cost you twice of what the reg brands cost you... reg temp on a 3.6 should be around 100-106 at operating temp and around 112-115 driving on regular roads even during hot temperature, i have never seen mine over 118 at the most even in Alabama temps,,,now of course if you are going up mountain highways then yes it could go higher but i am not privy to what the max would be there.... sounds like you are having a restriction on flow of your coolant upon acceleration or slight hills.......HAVE you REPLACED the thermostat?????????????
  14. 240 is way to high, are the fans kicking on? might be time to put a new thermostat in and also make sure you bleed the air from the system? did you replace the coolant with the correct fluid should NOT be yellow more purple looking,
  15. well i live in alabama so no you must have something wrong, get it scanned for codes have the plugs been changed out with the proper plugs, has the eng air filter been changed out as well,
  16. Welcome to the group, take some time and look thur the forum for a lot of great info
  17. thought id post this off youtube on how to replace or fix broken wires in the upper left rear hatch.........
  18. it will just relearn your style of driving over the next few weeks,, that said i noticed you said the 4 cly so not sure if that trans is a relearn as well as the 6 spd trans,,,, John might chime in here in the next day or so and he will have better info on that
  19. Don't worry about it that small hole you see is the drain hole to let out water created by your exhaust, the dent might just now be the lowest drain spot due to being hit ,,that said it might rust out a bit faster in the next 4-5 yrs but i wouldn't be worried about it just depends on much salt they use on the roads up there.... all journeys leak water out of there...also welcome to the group
  20. i use the K-N air filter that you have to oil,,,also have the cabin air filter K-N as well.... Both have worked out great for me and no problems at 149 k on this journey and also the eng air filter is the K-N that i had on my 2011 and swapped out to my 2014 when i bought it actually swapped it out in the dealership parking lot with the salesman watching me......LOL so 12 yrs of use on it
  21. one thing about our transmissions , they learn how you shift and then if someone else drives it for a bit that drives a lot different from on how you drive it can recalabraight itself, that said my 2014 sometimes (not to often) will hesitate when shifting or downshifting if driven differently from what i just had been driving, not sure if this is what you are noticing ....also no mention of miles and if you are the org owner?
  22. we just got home from the dr office, I didnt notice it after it was warmed up today... one thing tho, yrs ago the dodge dealership had to replace my oil pressure sensor and they had removed the air intake tube that runs from the air box to the rear of the engine and when they reassembled it they left the adjustment clamp loose and the tube was kind of floppy at the connection band for around 4-5 months, and the journey was having a loud noise that went up and down with the engine speed till i finally tracked it down to that loose connection... LOL never trust any mechanic......
  23. i had a air bag light come on yrs ago and i checked youtube and i checked the wiring under the drivers seat and wiggled them and the light went off,, i had not checked for a code, but you might want to try that first.....please report back on what you find out,,,also welcome to the group
  24. if you have flushed it twice and as well trying to flush out the heater core still no heat on the passenger side the heater core is a dual zone core ,it will bypass the plugged side for the passenger side ,probally need a new heater core installed, also check the blend doors on the passanger side to see if they are activating as well, you will want to check out youtube for the shortcut on installing one...the water pump might be going bad since you have done all that you have said you have completed hard to give advise without the journey being checked out by a qualified mechanic, you can keep guessing on what to do or have it checked out before you overheat it and ruin the engine
