  1. what part of al are you in, i am near huntsville and the forecast is 49 high 22 low with possible rain. of course i don't care i am headed to tunica miss. to the horseshoe casino for couple days of drinking and poker..umh that could get expensive i guess......
  2. my 2014 acts up every so often. i will get out then the wife gets out pushes the button on the inside to lock and then shut the door and by the time we get towards the back of the car or about 5-10 feet away it will beep 3 times like the keys are in it. cant get it to do it for the dealer so they cant fix it not a big deal but it does irritate me some has also done the same thing when i am by myself when i push the lock button, oh well trying to get in the habit of using the remote to lock it...
  3. well the 2015 journeys have a 4k rebate going on. glad your safe and sound
  4. ahh a used car salesman!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. to each his own but i like the look of less badges easier to clean and wax i took off all except the crossroad and probably would have removed it except the wife came by and said to leave it on.
  6. they say you can download the manual off the internet...
  7. what is service first ? your manual will tell you when they need to be changed check with your dodge dealer not an aftermarket garage to have them changed i believe it is around 100 k is when the book says change them.....
  8. have you seen the pics for the new laramie ram pickup the front grill looks terrible kind of looks like a pigs nostrils and those big ram letters OMG oh well see you latter jay and happy trails
  9. i was just looking at the manual also and oil changes are not quite clear my dealer rec/ 3000 miles between changes but the book says wait for the light. but i am going to wait for the light or about 5-6k. as far as the trans fluid and filter i would let the dealer do it about 60-70k since you are in a hot climate and tow once in a while and might as well let them do the antifreeze as well that way you are covered. it never hurts to do it a little early i don't like to do the trans flush pros and cons on both sides of the coin on that one. but id let the dealer do it as that way any problems should come up they cant say jiffy lube did it wrong and as expensive as the transmissions are now.... also most dealers are always offering service deals on such so not that much more than the fly by night places
  10. same thing happened to my tv worked fine for almost 5 yrs then started messing up just by luck they gave me a 5yr warranty so they came got the tv and couldn't find any thing wrong except they said they found a I C leg not soldered and 8yrs later tv still going strong.... thats the problem with surface mount parts as sometimes the solder doesn't melt and adhere the part to the circuit board properly......
  11. well i usually feel the same way at certain places like oil change places or walmart but having it done at a dodge dealership is kind of different also if anything goes wrong they cant blame any one but themselves.and i always double check the oil level before leaving the times i have had it done there....
  12. agree with lawdog couple weeks ago was getting something out of the hatch at night and the dome light wasn't working was trying to fig out how to remove the plastic cover over the bulb and thought to check the dimmer switch and it had got turned all the way down, turned it back up and then the light worked..

    Cracking leather

mine looked like that when i bought it. i was told leather has marks like that.
  14. rec post card from my dealership advertizing oil filter and oil change package (4 changes for $ 59.99) i have always done my own oil changes but even doing it myself i cant beat that price. only problem i usually switch to synthetic oil after my first 4 oil changes that you get for free and to try and pay extra for synthetic oil from the dealer they have always quote some crazy price so that has always discouraged me from using the dealership but since i purchased the lifetime warranty guess ill just let them do it and stay with the reg oil and save the time and $$. i think they even offer a better deal if you jump up to the 8 oil change special

first time with leather seats hadn't thought about using a leather conditioner have to check into it ,,any certain brands to check out....
  16. bad tire can make ti pull also my 14 crossroad had a slight pull to the right took it back once or twice they said alignment was right and so i rotated the rears to the front and front to rear and the pull was gone so i took it back told them what i had done and they acted like the problem was solved but i said i want 1 or 2 new tires for the bad ones on the rear after a little haggling they finally gave in and put 2 new ones on for me problem solved...good luck to you
  17. dont know what lights you are talking about guess i am talking about the puddle lights qh well why dont you go by a different dealer
  18. agree with redtomatoman get it back to the dealer for a check up 17-20 in the city and 22-27 MPG on the road is what you should be seeing and i have the K-N air filter had it on my 2011 and kept it for my 2014 but i didnt see any real improvment in mpg maybee 1 mpg but not for sure and i check every tankfull so this is real advice that i am telling you. MPG depends on so many factors that is why so many different post
  19. none on the door that i know of. i adjust mine with the dimmer switch on the dash along the side of the light switch.
  20. both of my journeys have that and i don't have the auto lights, i am sure if it comes from the factory with auto lights then the sensor would be there but i don't believe dodge would put a sensor in there if it wasn't ordered for the auto lights. by the way when i bought my 2011 i asked the salesman and someone in the service dept. what that was and no one could answer that....LOL
  21. the only dimmer i know of is along side the light switch it dims the dash and the lower door lights i have none on the door try diming it at night....
  22. have been reading this post and if as you say after adding the switch they come on and stay on while the engine is running and they shut off after turning the engine off i would say that for all the trouble and considerable cost of adding the sensor and other parts the only downside i see is that the extra wear and shorter life of the head light life but picking up the safety and convince of auto- headlights. i wouldn't try to add the extra equipment..
  23. welcome to the blog lots of good info here.......
