  1. so has any one that actually has a crossroad install or have one installed on their journey? still thinking of getting one but am wondering if the hitch interferes with the rear bumper and or does it need to be cut to allow with the install. I am asking as i think i should be able to handle the install but of course all shade tree mechanics think that.LOL any pics of the finished product would be helpful. thanks
  2. my daughter a couple of months ago had to have her 2007 caravan rad changed out and i didn't think i wanted to do it and it had to be done right away well after it was done i had checked u tube videos on replacing one didn't look that bad on doing it i would probably do it for her if it had to be done again so google u tube for videos on how to do it.. good luck
  3. great hope you get it back on the road for good!!!!!
  4. Journeyman425thanks for all the help you give to the blog hope you dont get burned out.....
  5. well i got over 65k on my 2011 17 inch kumos and still had some tread left, traded it in on my 14 crossroad with the 19 inch have 14k on them so far and looking okay......
  6. is there any synthetic fluid that is recommended since you live up where it gets so cold due to the power steering hoses problem that some have complained about? Well since you haven't had any problem yet ,might be best to stick with the rec fluids...
  7. how peppy is the diesel engine?? welcome to the group
  8. well i don't think the wife is real happy letting go with the $$$ but plan on keeping this one a long time and we do a lot of traveling and have kept my last two trucks 12 yrs and 14yrs. and on the last one the the warranty would have saved me some money and cars aren't getting any cheaper to fix and thies 6 speed trans and engines are getting so hi tech i can see dollars going out as they get older. well wait and see.....I think i got the best price I could have got on dodge warranty...
  9. well just bought the lifetime max warranty with unlimited miles with a 100. ded. was about to go over the 12k miles and going on a trip tomorrow that would have put me over the 12k thus it would raise the price $200. so bit the bullet and paid the $2215. plan on keeping this journey a long time. love the looks and the silver color was real easy over the internet already rec a copy of the purchase and they said mopar will send the reg paperwork in about 3 weeks. you save a lot buying it here than at the dealership hope i don't ever need it but figured if i keep it as long as my truck( 14. years) figures out about to $157 yr.
  10. i don't think that is considered part of the power train warranty , but wouldnt hurt to check...
  11. check with the dealer he can tell you all your options.......
  12. ah good old woodward ave use to drag race there on fri or sat nights back in the early 70s
  13. As far as roads go our unpaved dirt road in Al is smoother than almost any paved road in Mi. P.S, I was born and raised in Clarkston Mi. and as far as Al there is hardly any unpaved roads down here. 22 inch wheels would not look good on your journey, but that is my 2cents worth. take care
  14. my 2011 went out after 2.5 yrs. i have never had much luck with factory batteries most only last about 3 yrs. and i not in extreme heat during the summer and only 1-2 months of cold during the winter ... good luck i doubt you will get more than 4 yrs.
  15. you need to remember when dealing with her ins. company to compensate you for the lost resale value of your journey since it was in such a bad acc. the resale value will be less now. they can or will compensate you for that but you might have to argue with them and tell them you have contacted your lawyer already. just a thought.....
  16. i hear a slight clunk when hitting certain bumps or pot holes, hardly hear it and haven't been worried about it, same as the trans every once in a while will make a noise going from park to drive or reverse. not bad enough to complain about
  17. have a 2014 crossroad v6 and paid about 22k with my chrysler discount and you will almost always avg 22mpg some city and some freeway driving,if you hot rod it about 17-19 with mostly city driving, if all interstate you will get 24 to 26 mpg maybe a little better if your going down hill all the time...LOL all depends on how you drive and the roads and elevation of your trip. also if you think of getting an air filter that you can clean and oil i bought a K-N it really wont help the mpg, had one on my 2011 journey and kept it for my 2014, it will save you on replacement cost of the air filters a little bit but after you figure in the cost of the filter and cleaning solution and re-oiling spray ( about $42. for the filter and if you need the oil about $8, i would not buy another one i would stay with the reg paper filters as they have come down in price, and with the K-N you have to wash it out then let it dry and then re-oil it takes a while so the paper filters are a lot easier to change out....
  18. hmm sounds like a good size labor charge plus parts. keep us informed
  19. just glue tape i use bumper sticker remover from auto parts, works great.
  20. my 2001 truck still looks good no bubbles and no peeling or scratches.guess it depends on quality of the products and install, one thing i didn't think much of i used reg windex for a while which is a big no no and some of the windows have a slight color change but that was my fault.....also raising and lowering windows in a dusty area will produce scratches as my daughters postal caravan right window is scratched real bad due to the sand or dust.
