  1. all par says.. on vehicles built after 1995 are warranted for eight years or 80,000 miles.in the U.S. couldnt find anything for canada...check your books that came with your car there should be a pamplet just about the catalytic converter and the related parts and how long the coverage is...that can be a hard code to get rid of it can be alot of different things causing it. google the code # and read up on it.
  2. well you should still be in warranty and i believe most catalytic converters are covered for at least 100k so take it back to the dealership...let us know
  3. that is one reason i buy my parts from the local parts store so if they sell me the wrong stuff it can be fixed right away i know its a little cheaper over the internet. but id rather not have the mix up.. good luck on your journey......
  4. LOL i bought front and rear pads for my 2011 and did the rears but had planned on doing the fronts later on when they needed it and then ended up trading in on my 2014 and now i have some wagner thermoquiet pads that i got a rebate on and dont know if advance would do a return on them.........oh well thats what i get for planning ahead maybe they will take them back have to ask..
  5. raise your tire pressure to about 36 psi cold and will help get a little better mpg as when they get hot it will raise to about 38-39 psi that is what i ran in my 2011 with 17 inch tires and got 70k out of them tires and still running the same in my 2014 19 inch tires and just turned 15 k and they still look great....
  6. in al. if they are uninsured and at fault in the acc. when its time for them to get a new drivers lic. they have to make good on what they owe before they can renew it. i got hit by one and my insurance fixed my car and a couple of yrs later allstate sent sent a check for my $500, deductible that she had to pay. of course i don't know if she made a full repayment to allstate for the whole cost that they paid to fix my van... also my insurance rate did go up because they paid out on my claim for my car and i dint get that back guess allstate left me in their good hands for that ....
  7. well took my journey in for the oil change and had printed out a copy of how jm425 said for the dealer to flash the car, and later on the service manager comes up and says sorry we cant get the drl to work and then even went on to say the mechanic looked at my settings in my car and said that there wasn't even a selection for the drls listed.WTF i said yes there is and that they are turned on because i had checked that this morning before i brought it in,and then he continues to say they is nothing listed in the settings to turn the drls on or off, so i turn to my sales person that i was talking to and then turned back to the manager and said i would bet him the cost of what a 2015 crossroad would be on that statement as i KNOW that they are turned on and they are listed in the settings in the journey. well he backed off that statement and i went with him back to the service dept and about that time he wanted to read what i had printed off from the blog on what he had to do to turn them on and about that time a different mechanic walks up and says to him give me his paperwork and let me do the reflash i know what to do.. about 10 min later i am talking to the salesman again and here comes the service manager again and says your car is fixed and i asked do the drls work and he says yes and turns around and leaves without saying one word then the salesman starts apologizing for the way the service manger had just talked to me , i said oh well its the dealership that will lose customers with someone acting like that. as i have been buying cars from the same sales person for at least 15 years... well when they send me the letter asking me how i was treated they will get a bad review for this last service call. BUT a big thank you to journeyman425 for all his help on this issue. thanks again jm425 P.S. this dodge dealership has always had the best service department for as long as i can remember but about 2yrs ago they moved to a new and bigger location and the original service manger left for what ever the reason and this new one is starting to ruin their reputation it is a shame ........
  8. what part of al are you in, i am near huntsville and the forecast is 49 high 22 low with possible rain. of course i don't care i am headed to tunica miss. to the horseshoe casino for couple days of drinking and poker..umh that could get expensive i guess......
  9. my 2014 acts up every so often. i will get out then the wife gets out pushes the button on the inside to lock and then shut the door and by the time we get towards the back of the car or about 5-10 feet away it will beep 3 times like the keys are in it. cant get it to do it for the dealer so they cant fix it not a big deal but it does irritate me some has also done the same thing when i am by myself when i push the lock button, oh well trying to get in the habit of using the remote to lock it...
  10. well the 2015 journeys have a 4k rebate going on. glad your safe and sound
  11. ahh a used car salesman!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. to each his own but i like the look of less badges easier to clean and wax i took off all except the crossroad and probably would have removed it except the wife came by and said to leave it on.
  13. they say you can download the manual off the internet...
  14. what is service first ? your manual will tell you when they need to be changed check with your dodge dealer not an aftermarket garage to have them changed i believe it is around 100 k is when the book says change them.....
  15. have you seen the pics for the new laramie ram pickup the front grill looks terrible kind of looks like a pigs nostrils and those big ram letters OMG oh well see you latter jay and happy trails
  16. i was just looking at the manual also and oil changes are not quite clear my dealer rec/ 3000 miles between changes but the book says wait for the light. but i am going to wait for the light or about 5-6k. as far as the trans fluid and filter i would let the dealer do it about 60-70k since you are in a hot climate and tow once in a while and might as well let them do the antifreeze as well that way you are covered. it never hurts to do it a little early i don't like to do the trans flush pros and cons on both sides of the coin on that one. but id let the dealer do it as that way any problems should come up they cant say jiffy lube did it wrong and as expensive as the transmissions are now.... also most dealers are always offering service deals on such so not that much more than the fly by night places
  17. same thing happened to my tv worked fine for almost 5 yrs then started messing up just by luck they gave me a 5yr warranty so they came got the tv and couldn't find any thing wrong except they said they found a I C leg not soldered and 8yrs later tv still going strong.... thats the problem with surface mount parts as sometimes the solder doesn't melt and adhere the part to the circuit board properly......
  18. well i usually feel the same way at certain places like oil change places or walmart but having it done at a dodge dealership is kind of different also if anything goes wrong they cant blame any one but themselves.and i always double check the oil level before leaving the times i have had it done there....
  19. agree with lawdog couple weeks ago was getting something out of the hatch at night and the dome light wasn't working was trying to fig out how to remove the plastic cover over the bulb and thought to check the dimmer switch and it had got turned all the way down, turned it back up and then the light worked..

    Cracking leather

mine looked like that when i bought it. i was told leather has marks like that.
  21. rec post card from my dealership advertizing oil filter and oil change package (4 changes for $ 59.99) i have always done my own oil changes but even doing it myself i cant beat that price. only problem i usually switch to synthetic oil after my first 4 oil changes that you get for free and to try and pay extra for synthetic oil from the dealer they have always quote some crazy price so that has always discouraged me from using the dealership but since i purchased the lifetime warranty guess ill just let them do it and stay with the reg oil and save the time and $$. i think they even offer a better deal if you jump up to the 8 oil change special
