i had the weather tech window guards on my 2011 and first time i lowered the rear window bang out the window it went i stopped and gotl it and only a small scratch on the edge of it but not bad ,and when i bought my 14 crossroad and i traded in my old one i took the front guards out but have not installed them on my new one and not sure i will. seems like after i put them in my 2011 i got a little more wind noise or road nosie. so i guess that was a waste of $75. for them oh well maybe ill try to sell them on craigs list...........

Well getting ready to go on a long trip and needing a little more room in the back and with the 2 seat option you have a 3 section lift floor that gives you more storage. problem is when dodge designed it, they put the side with the carpet on to match the car on the back section that you have to lift up,it is very hard to use the way you have to lift it so. I just flipped the whole thing upside down and put the smooth vinal side face up and it makes it alot more sense and you can then lift the one end section up with one hand instead of having to wrestle with it the way it comes from the factory you have to use two hands to flip both sections just to put something under there. What the hell was the dodge enginers were thinking when they come up with their way of doing it.Have had the car for about 2-3months and have been fighting with this since I got it... LOL oh well

What ever the problem is it all seems a little weird but hey maybee DodgeCare is still on vacation as some want to suggest for the last month or two.. oh well.........at least our friends up north who have DodgeCaCares to help them here from their rep.. -

Extended warranty
2late4u replied to jkeaton's topic in Buying, Leasing, Ordering & Competing Products
well i think i am about to pull the trigger on buying the lifetime max warranty and so far the best deal is from Zeigler dodge dealership up in michigain. he wants $2240. using the (gregh) discount but after talking to him he said he could drop it an other $25 by useing (save100 )code so about $2215. with the $100. deductabile per occurance. also the lifetime max coverage is not transferable to the next buyer but it can be cancelled at any time up to 7yr or100k which after that there is no refund.i am thinking since i plan on keeping this one alot longer than my last one and since i am retired i dont need to be trading cars every 3yrs like i used to. and since cars are getting so much more expensive to fix, this does sound like a great deal. what do you all think and or any better deals on OME dodge warranties out there??? still hoping to get a better deal.....oh and thanks to gregsJourney for the link to the Zeigler website as it sometimes is hard to pull up on google.......P.S. when i was talking to bob about the plan he said no taxes on it and said dont forget to use your best reward credit card when paying for it.. so that would be about $25. more off when using my rewards card... lol looking for every trick to save some $$$$$$$ -

yesterday i rotated the tires from front to rear straight back and then took it for a drive well the pulling to the left was gone so i called the dealer and told them what i had done and he said to bring it in tues morning so 8am i am at the dealer and talking to them about the tire problem so he said well since its not pulling no more drive it for about 3k to see how it works.i said well i am going on a trip in 3 weeks and by the time i get back i will have traveled about 6k miles and since they already have about 3500k on them if i rotated them once i get back and the problem comes back would thet then say sorry to many miles now? he was going to do a run out test in the tires this morning and i could see he was trying to get out of it. so i kept asking them to do the test so about 25 minutes later he comes up and said your ready we just went ahead and put 2 new ones on to replace the suspected bad tires. I thanked them and took off and it was riding a little smoother on the way home as after i rotated them to the rear it was feeling a little more rougher ride towards the rear. so i sure one of the tires had a problem with it.. any way alls well that ends well..... -

well back from the dealer, oil got changed and they said alinement was dead on so guess ill rotate the front tires to the rear to see if it makes any difference, they wont about 2.5 hrs labor at $85. =212 plus parts so going on a vac. for a little bit so will wait till i get back to decided. called a different dealer and he said it would take 4.5 hrs.. lol which one would be right .. -

going to the dealer in the morning to have the first oil change a little early but its the first one and free so what the heck and also going to have them check the frt end seems to pull a little to the left, also was going to see how much to add the remote start. i see on the mopar web site its about $299.for the oem parts and i get a 25 % off parts and there is a dealership that offers us UAW retirees a hourly rate of $65. so i think i read some post on here that it takes 2 hrs at a dealership to install it so if thats true should cost somewhere about 224. plus tax for the parts and about $130 for install so about $350. total hope it works out. more later on how it comes out... -
Rotors might be gone, but check the pictures
2late4u replied to Marius's topic in Brake, Chassis & Suspension
I must have missed something in your first post. but what made only your rear tires wear out so soon? Were the front tires okay?I agree the bolt with no nut was sloppy assy. and if you needed new rotors on the rear with only 8 k they should have been covered under your 3/36k warranty as i had problems with my front rotors on my 2011 and at 10k so they turned them, and then at 28k they replaced them under a goodwill warranty replacement.also were they charging you to check your car while it was under warranty as that doesnt sound right? And some members have posted they put on drilled or slotted rotors and then developed some noise problems with them, i have never tried them, so i dont know as i have always just used advance auto rotors on my cars and never had any problems with them. Sorry you are having problems with your journey and let us know what happens in the future..... -
yes i have turned them on thur the radio and for OhareFred this has been going on for over two weeks and DodgeCare has been posting on other problems the last couple of days and i am sure he has seen this post. now why he wont comment i dont know and as i know its not of big importance but if it could be added i would like to and if it cant no big deal but its not only my problem as several other members have stated they would like to get it activated on their 2014 also.and i know the eariler years of the journey 2011-2013 as far as i know all journeys came equipped with the drls, and some came with them turned on and others were not but you could add the sales code and then have the dealer do his little thing and they would work.so really it all boils down to why DodgeCare wont answer the qestion or try to help us 2014 journey owners, this will be my last post on this subject.......
-
yes i did ask journeyman425 for help as had others and he said that the sales code cant be added for the drl for some reason and that is why i was asking DodgeCare if he could help US members out that had 2014 journeys be able to get them installed and for aftermarket addons i would rather keep my dodge all OME. but my main question is why DodgeCare wont or cant help on this subject,as i said before DodgeCaCare was wondering the same thing since he was from Canada he couldnt help.

havent notice it mine but now thanks to you ill be looking for it...LOL just went out checked mine and dont see no bar code but towards the top i see a little oval shape kind of dark colored .i have the auto dimming rear view mirror so i would assume that is for the mirror to work ... lets us know what you find out....

bolt probaly came from the factory with no nut or not torque and back out.which seems hard to believe as they should have been using a electric wrench that records that that nut had been tightened to a certin toruqe at that work place on the assy line. as for the rotors i would not go back to the dealer but go after market rotors as you van do that with no problem check out u tube for some info.. good luck -
i would listen to aukfan33, unless your a great mech.

well excuse me, i have checked with several dealers and no one seems to know why we cant add drls to our journeys and as i have mentioned before on my 2011 and my 2014 i wanted to add the rear back up cam to them and for 2 yrs on the 2011 all the dealers said it couldnt be done but as we know it can be done with mopar parts so when my dealer told me I couldnt add the back up cam on my 2014 i told yes you can and showed them the web site for mopar and the part # for it and told them You had just 4 months ago put it on my 2011 mainstreet he then said oh well i guess we can. and i think have a great dealer so its not really all their fault i think dodge could do a better job on letting dealers know on whats new or options on dealer add ons. WE all know how many problems EVERYONE has had about drl sales codes and also with the trailer lights sales code.SO i an just wondering why dodgecare hasnt weighed in on this as he has posted on other subjects since i have posted and pm him. just wanting a little info weather it be helpfull or not helpfull thats all.and for your post i have tried to help other members out and i have checked with other dealers so ive done my 15 minutes of checking. So i dont need to you getting smart azz with your post, as if this one my first time posting or trying to help out other members

just a note every time i have work done on my or my daughters van that the wheels have to be removed i always loosen the lug nuts and then retourqe them with my tourqe wrench to 100 alot of dealers use a impact wrench and over tighten the lugs and with the stop an go that my daughter does with her mail route after a while the lugs seem to tighten up more but if i retorqe them i never have a problem getting them off my self.

not sure if this helps but my daughters 2007 caravan coil pack went bad causing alot of problems so it got replaced by a mech. and ran fine for about a week them went bad again and on my sugg she took it back to the dealership and after a week and a full tune up wires, plugs and whatever about $700. they said it is fixed about a week later went bad again took it back to a different mech he replaced the coil pack again and the next day it was messing up again so she took it back again and by then it was running ok the mech said leave it with me and tried starting it several times with no problems so he started flexing the wires leading to the coil pack and it started to mess up well the problem was inside the connector on the wire that connects to the coil pack so he replaced it and problem was fixed. so check your wireing going to whatever you are having a problem with.. years ago had the same problem with a connector going to a electric fan in front of the rad. so dont get so fixed on a problem that you cant see anything else that might be the problem good luck
