Error Codes P0420 and P0430
2late4u replied to Roosevelt Ribeiro Jr's topic in Engine & Transmission
my daughter has had that code on her 2007 caravan 3.3 eng for over a yr now, i have checked the internet and it seems to be a very common and hard thing to cure. i would think its not the converter but problems before it o2 sen and or dirty injectors or other items. as hers is on her mail van and she didnt want to spend gobs of money and since it hasnt affected the performance and gas milage she hasnt wanted to try and get it fixed and has used it for over a yr now.of course we dont have engine inspections in albama -
wonder why dodgecares doesnt weigh in on this subject i sent him a pm but never heard back from him. i myself bought a new 14 crossroad and after signing the deal noticed it didnt have drl but wasnt worried about it as i fgured the service dept could get them turned on, but as we found out dodge has pulled a boner on this and fixed it so we cant. hell i was willing to pay to have them and since the car was ordered without them i cant have it put on thur the dealer CRAZY i was able to have the back up cam installed even thoe the dealer said it couldnt be done i should them the web site thur mopar to order the parts then they said oh we can do that....

Car Battery Prevetative Maintenance
2late4u replied to StormGrayBlackTop13's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
good luck on your battery lasting 5 yrs. my 2011 went bad about 3 months ago (3rys total) and all my other dodge vec. batteries lasted about 3-4 yrs at the best. changed it out myself and i removed the front wheel, i believe in giving my self all the room to make it easier and sure am glad i did... good luck to all -
no it cant, just bought 14 crossroad and it didnt have heated seats and dealer rec. Katzkin which i did cost was about 500. and has its own switch that they put in side of seat base. it might be poss. to use dealer parts but prob. be alot more $$ than you would want to spend

DodgeCares how about some help? i bought a 2014 crossroad about a month ago and unlike my 2011 journey the drls are inop and according to the dealer and one of our members they say the sales code to enable them does not work on 2014. sure would like to have them. Is there some way you could research on how or what it would take to get them to work. i have turned them on thur the radio but no luck and the local dealer as good as they have been are no help..

No Backup Camera
2late4u replied to RedeyeJedi's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
no they are after market made by kat skin they were rec. to me by my sales rep at the dealer that is who they use when not able to do mopar. that said the switch is installed on the bottom side of the seat. and you have to manually turn them off when not needed, but they do shut off when the car is shut off. they work very good but do wish they could have been like OME.cost was $505. tax included...if you are able you can u tube on how to do it your self and save alot if you can, getting to old to try and learn new things like this lol good luck -

48 psi is really high and if that is when they are cold then when they heat up they will rise to 50 -51 psi . i have never heard of psi that high i always run around 36 -37 psi. true running that high will get you better mpg but you run the risk of having your tires ove-rinflated and risk having a blow out at hi-way speeds. and also your tires will wear out faster in the middle of the tire . with less traction during wet weather.its your choice as to what you want to do but i would let the psi down at least to 40-41 at the most...goood luck and keep it between the ditches.......

Anyone know how to disassemble the side mirrors?
2late4u replied to mthurston0001's topic in Appearance
if you are not sure stop by some body shop or your dealership body shop with the mirror and they prob. will help you or show you how to do what you are wanting . i have done this with other problems and most places are willing to help you out for the goodwill gesture. -
had a 2004 caravan that would bump and make a noise when hitting certin chuck holes but not all the time and it kept getting a little worse so i jacked up the right side and the left and found there was a rubber bushing loose i think it was on a sway bar and it had worked its way out of the clamp holding it. well it was getting late so i lube it up a bit and was able to get it back into the clamp and i tightened the hell out of it. never had any more problems or noise. so doesnt hurt to look under and check things out.. good luck

2011 Dodge Journey steering wheel vibration
2late4u replied to BSDodge's topic in Brake, Chassis & Suspension
i too bought a torque wrench a few yrs ago. found out i prob. had been over torqueing my wheel nuts to tight. 95 ftlbs is not as hard as you would think. but you have a slight tire or wheel problem i would rotate the front to rear to see if it solves the problem good luck also do NOT use grease or anti-seize grease on the studs as that lets you over tighten the lugs also -
ADDING BACK-UP CAM TO EXISTING UCONNECT 8.4
2late4u replied to Felix A. Nunez's topic in Accessories, Modifications
if you go to the website above (leeparts.com) and click on the backup cam part it will tell you which radios it will work with. do like i did before i had the parts man order it i gave him my vin # and he checked and said yes it will work with your radio that way any problems come up i can say your parts guy said it was compatabile with my radio. this cam only works with certin radios.... also i did not order thur this web site i went thur my dealership that i use and bought my journey from. good luck as i really like my rear cam when backing up.... -
havent had any problems with my journeys but with my 2004 and 2007 caravans would get a nosie from the power steering sometimes so i would suck some of power steering fuild out with a turkey baster and then add some lucas power steering additive to the unit and never had any more noise from than on. on the air cond. you could have some one add some freon and oil additives. they have some made to help the seals and bearings. might be worth having it done. have never tried to add it myself.. good luck

ADDING BACK-UP CAM TO EXISTING UCONNECT 8.4
2late4u replied to Felix A. Nunez's topic in Accessories, Modifications
go to http://www.leeparts.com and enter your info on your journey and then click mopar then click electrical then scroll down to back up cam retail $305 discounted price $ 265 which is a good deal ask your dealer to match this price or you could prob buy it yourself and get them to install or do it youyrself as it is all easy plug and play but you have to run the cable from the hatch to the front and then have to have dealer do their flash to complete the job. i am retired from chry. and get 25 off parts so my cost on the cam was 228. from the dealer plus the 90 to install.. works great and comes with 12/12000 mile warranty.. -
ADDING BACK-UP CAM TO EXISTING UCONNECT 8.4
2late4u replied to Felix A. Nunez's topic in Accessories, Modifications
the dodge dealer did my 2011 for$90. total and if you do it yourself you will still have to take it to the dealer so they can add the sales code or flash your car and i have been told they charge $50. for that. so for a little more let them do it. now that said i traded in my 2011 for a 14 crossroad and needed a backup put in it and then the same dealer said he wanted $150 to do it , so i said forget it, i got a little loud with them about buying a new car from them and being a loyal returning car buyer from them and turned to leave and the service manager came after me and said he would do it for the $90. so i had it done. so call around to different dealers checking their labor chartge for doing it they all charghe different prices good luck.... -

Extended warranty
2late4u replied to jkeaton's topic in Buying, Leasing, Ordering & Competing Products
dang i never ment anything is wrong, and was just correcting your post on the price quote i rec. but you do seem to be reacting quite strongly to a simple observation. but hey if you feel better now so much the better. also my one point of my orginal post was since i only kept my 2011 3 years buying a lifetime warranty might not be a great deal for me. as i said before sorry i ruffled any feathers and have a great day
